      @@marshwetland3808 That's a weird way to interpret what he's saying. I don't think you know much about people or how to read them. It seems VERY clear to me that he started saying that innocently, only to visibly relate it to the brewing rumours at the point where he stumbles with his words. From there, he just seems to try to act normal and finish the sentence, but you can clearly read the awkwardness in retrospect. Most humans aren't badly written villains. People very rarely allude to their dark secrets in public appearances.

      I think Louis was going to say “I’m ready to go to hell” but stopped him self maybe because Colbert is religious and also he stopped because the crowd gave a big laugh after I’m ready and he just kind of stopped himself. Go back and look.

    Okay so let me get this straight, The Dana Carvey Show's writers consisted of Louis C.K, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Robert Smigel and Oscar winner Charlie Kaufman? How on Earth did that show get cancelled?

      Louis always references the Bill Clinton breastfeeding puppies and kittens with 8 boobs right after some mainstream show (Home Improvement, according to Bryndis), at a mainstream time slot on a mainstream network as the reason it got canned almost from the get go.
      When he's talked about it before he said it should have been on at a different time and been allowed grow and find its audience.

    • @xenohtype
      @xenohtype 7 років тому +27

      It's funny because Carvey got an offer from CBS, but passed on it because ABC would have his show have Home Improvement as the lead-in. Maybe it would have been different had they went to CBS. I don't know. The content of the show itself looks like it belonged in cable.

    • @FlaccidWeiner271

Why destroy the career of a decent, talented man whose made poor choices? Have you not a weird side? You have a beautiful picture! @@vaneyes5137 Lol what? Decent men don't sexually harass women, not even accidentally (Louis did not have consent, no idea where you heard that). Not to mention, he didn't truly apologize for his behavior. His reaction letter was more of an explanation or realization. He didn't explicitly apologize to his victims or the public. I agree his life/career doesn't have to be ruined but he doesn't deserve to be a celebrity. And to answer your weird question : No, I have never harassed anyone or did something without the other party's consent, as IS the f*king norm.

    Stephen says he did pratfalls (humiliating oneself) for Louis to cheer him up. Notice how he also ends their conversation on one when he acts like he doesn't know his producer's break motion. The veteran talk show host/comedian makes it look like anyone can do his job, showing respect for his guest and audience while referencing the story and escaping Louis's ego stroking "King of Late Night" compliment. This level of intelligence and subtle showmanship is seriously off the charts.

      Whenever you define something it's good to ask yourself: "can I find a really stupid counterexample to this to refute myself?" Then you come up with people like Charlie Chaplin or all of those funny people who lived before stand-up became a thing; now I know colloquially comedian has become an exchangeable word for "stand-up comedian" but that's just a recent thing. There's a reason we call it "stand-up comedy" not just "comedy" because comedy and people who do it (comedians) come in all shapes and forms.

    What amazes me is that Louis CK can keep topping himself. Have you guys seen his latest special yet? I was afraid that he had peaked a couple of years ago, as a stand up comedian - but NoooOoOoOooo... I was in tears, laughing, watching the 2017 special... Holy.. I mean.. The guy is only competing with himself nowadays. In a league of his own.
