the comment on the cable, switch puller and keycap puller. a qk board was my first board and that switch puller is goated. i never used the cable, but thats only because i dont like coiled cables, and the keycap puller works well enough to keep
The optional starter kit is gonna add so much cost to the end user because if it’s “cheap and included” they don’t have much reason to mark it up, where as a separate unit they can justify charging like an add on up charge plus there’s the human time of having to pack it in addition to the board.
I like the optional stuff for many reasons. Sure, at home I have my setup pretty well established and have everything I need. But say I want to bring a different board to work than the one I usually do, or to a friend's house or whatever - it's nice to just be able to grab the case knowing that there's already cheap cable and tools in there and don't have to worry about it. If it was optional and was only gonna save me 5 bucks or so, I would probably add it every time. If it was a $20 add-on that would make me think twice
If it’s 5 for all that stuff i absolutely want that stuff. I have like 8 keebs and am still using my qk cables. Most of my keebs haven’t came with cables.
Hi alex juat wanted to know since i see you use iem's, but what woukd you say is kinda a good iem for a good budget or if you dont know which ones do you use?
Hi Alex!! What do you think about the look of the board compared to the v1? The bezels on the v1 are a bit more substantial imo. Do you think this version brings the board into a more modern era?

I've been doubtful about pogo pins for a while. They have to make contact with the PCB, ergo, interference with PCB movement, unlikena wired connection where the cable can give/compress in ways impossible to practically detect. Put another way, the concept, although convenient, seems too rigid?
@@KorsaKing on this particular config I feel like it was implemented much too stiff but they’ve done it better in the past which is what’s confusing to me
@@alexotos yeah it's stiffer than neo70 i think; basically it's a fpc cable connected underneath with foam surrounding the pins themselves; it's just that there wasn't much height (in terms of room) to work with so users may feel harder when compared to other projects like neo80, ergo and 70
I love these videos but I slowly have realized more and more how much different taste in switches I have compared to the goat because I hate the sound personally on this build but the build itself is pretty solid.
Just got this board couple days ago, although I like the looks of it and how it sounds to me but there is 1 issue with the board - case wiggles a lot when you move the board. When it wiggles it produces sound. Keep that in mind. This is not like neo board lock in system. Very dissapointed :(
@ clips are too small on front part, those which are not covered by rubber feet. Therefore, they let case to move. I tried to install case multiple times but same result every time:(
9:00 you shouldn't pull the space bar from 1 side to another like that, instead pull its left and right key first and then use your finger to lift it up from both sides. Keep your stab away from ticking
I really wish they'd have gone with ball catches for this board rather than plastic clips honestly, at least if they really wanted to make it a screwless assembly. I know that lately QK wants to try new stuff for the sake of it but this is where they shouldn't have. Like some people in chat said, if those breaks you're done unless QK sell replacements for it. With ball catches you can just find which specs the board is using and just order them from any manufacturers or hardware stores that sell them. :/
1. we've put extra clips in the kit for replacements 2. when 65v2 and 65v2classic were out, there are multiple solutions out there for fast assembly - back then we wouldn't know which one is preferred by western market, so we used different approaches on different keyboards (neo vs. qk) 3. we always try new stuff for the sake of it, just that the route that didn't win the market would end up as "unnecessary" attempts but it's all hindsight 4. most ball-catch systems are customized (as the room between cases are minimal) and i doubt you can find it in a random hardware store hopefully this would clear your concerns. cheers!
The plastic latches on this board is extremely terrible, it gets loose really easily and the board is just not solid as a whole. Sound and feel wise is ok but definitely cannot recommend this board to anyone

It also has a top mount option
i have the qk65 v2 paired with lubed KTT mints and it sounds so poppy.
Man I wish they went with these small side borders on the OG QK65. Looks so good!
that's neo65 basically

if it was my first board that probs mean i dont have any tools and for 5 bucks to have those inside its pretty neat
Hi Alex! I’ve been trying to find a cable like yours. Could you tell me where I can get one?
Are you going to review the luminkey lx60?
@alexotos If you randomly package 2 of your "standard cables" taking up space in your storage, us noobies might buy the two for $25 or something.
Between this and KRUSH65, which one should I get if I want a nice clacky, poppy, no foam, nice typing feel?
Neo65 bro.
Oh look another board where the "Nixie is really nice with this" ;)

It's not terribly bad, it's tolerable for me, but I like alice/ergo keyboards now😂
the badge for the dongle is great it odd but super cool honestly
