The Way Joe sings "the shell returns to dust" and "High beyond the curse of time" sounds so beautifully tortured, it makes this particular performance my favorite version of this song.
@@mlk_ix2831 I just checked it out, and Joe's vocals on that performance sound excellent. I still prefer this one because it seems like he was running out of breath and time on some of the phrases and the way it came out just sounded extra tortured that for some reason reminds me of the character Horror from the Pagemaster. But in the rock and Rio version, Joe seems to give a bit of extra vehemence when his voice kind of squeaks in the end of his phrases. It's awesome

I you scream like Joe, you will ruin your voice because he doesn't scream in the correct way. And yeah, he pretty much has already ruined his voice by now. Compare any 2010 live Gojira video to 2020 or older... that's what ignoring vocal technique does to people's voices
