Sir I am an ex-servicemen. Presently working as TA CBDT. I am also selected in SBI now. What should i do?? Please guide me in purview of upcoming 8 CPC and also i can become Sr. TA in 2026 Or 2027. Should i switch to SBI? pls do suggest me as i am in great confusion. Both in home state.
In my view , u should remain in CBDT, though SBI is paying a higher salary than TA but in few years u will cross / reach to the same amount of salary. And another aspect is work life balance and work load are far better in CBDT.
If you want peaceful life remain there, for monetary benefits you can join SBI. I don't think there will be 8th CPC as far as BJP's Govt. Choice is your. People are leaving banks for tax assistant and vice - versa. It's depend on person to person.

During election time i did 20 night duties that too without proper off and this happens during every election. Now, come to office time, you can come late however this will also go soon as biometric is being deployed everywhere and memo has been issued to late comers. Now, pack up time is long, barring some admin office, one packs up as early as 7-8 not before. Now, duty wise,,, you can say that protocol dept is the second name of cbdt. At some point you can feel that you are tour and travel agent of IRS offer. This i am saying with months of experience. Therefore, my say is where i will get more money there i will go. Nowhere is perfect. And last one,, that is not available,, u know to which i am pointing. So one has to cater from salary alone. There are some offices but one TA has to invest minimum 8-10 yrs before reaching there and an ex-servicemen on an average has almost 20 yrs of service left and demand of money in life is high as children are in higher classes. So only thing is ,, i am not well aware of how much i will get in bank after pay fixation and what is future prospects there. If salary is substantially high then i should switch. Here i am getting 47 K in metro city.

Undoubtedly u should join SBI Ofcourse workload is more u will get a starting package of 12 lakhs and Home Loan and car loan in staff rate…
