  • The tropical Atlantic may be getting busy in the next week. Stay tuned to find out more about potential hurricanes and tropical storms in the region. After a quiet spell in the tropical Atlantic, saharan dust seems to wane and tropical waves coming off of Africa will start to have a slightly better chance of developing as they come westward. One wave that's coming off of Africa now is starting to show up on forecast models in about a week to a week and a half near the windward islands. While this is a long ways out in time for forecasting tropical systems, it does give us an idea that the hurricane season is starting to pick back up. Here's chief meteorologist Bobby Deskins with the very latest.

I have a question ❓ we live in Providence RI and hate the dew points because of asthma. My question is. If we moved north to Maine or Virginia would the dew point stay below Do you think that it will become warmer in Maine if so what would you think next summers highs and lows may be? So many interesting things about dew point.❤

Great question. A good rule of thumb is the further South you go the more humid it will be. Maine would be very similar to Rhode Island I would assume. Virginia could get warmer and definitely more humid with S to southwest winds in the summer time.
