the getaway 3 was cancelled forever back in the PS3 days sorry no more the getaway the best you can hope for is a remastered version of the first 2 games or a complete remake

Love the fact that this game is getting a possible remake and it is remembered so fondly. I love it and I am not really a gamer. I just so happened to get a Ps2 just for this game and it is the best game ever conceived for me. I have played it nearly 30 times and I still want to play it again and again. Now I know that they really pushed programming to its limits then makes me appreciate it all the more and I can understand how much work went into producing it.

Finished this game in January (2020). Not having any control over the camera was infuriating at times, and navigating the streets of London with only your vehicle's indicators was such a headache, but Goddamn do I love this title!
You can definitely see Brendan McNamara's ambition with this game and LA Noire. I wish he would have put some of that effort into The Getaway's controls though.
The big problem with the controls is they made the stearing a full 900 degrees on analog stick instead of limiting it for fine tune control like every other car game which lead to it being way too sensitve causing the slightest change in stick to make you fly over multiple lanes. It needed to be less sensitive. Also would it havekilled them to implement some right stick camera control?

I remember My mom and my cousin in 2007 (I was age 4 then) singing Europe's Final Countdown while I was trying to watch Disney's The Replacements before NASCAR on ABC. And yes, I will soon go after The Getaway 1 and 2 and also yes, I'm from the states.
sigh...so sad this series was left for dead by Sony. I really enjoyed it...and how it tried to be more "realistic" with no HUD, map, etc. Even though the free mode as lacking in things to do, it was just fun driving around london. Didn't like BM as much as this one, but it was still good.

These days, people are modding Genshin Impact, an always online game. As Jeremy Clarkson would say "How hard can it be?" To make a ROM hack of this game and add quality of life features?
Doubt many car manufacturers would be so willing to have their models used in this type of game these days. Remember when Toyota came out with they didn’t want their models used in street racing games 🤣
Funnily enough there's a video on UA-cam of a bunch of cars they made for the game including the 66 Mustang. Most car manufacturers actually declined the offer to lease licencing as they thought games 'didn't make much money' back in those days. Or didn't think the advertising was worth it, pretty funny in hindsight
See once your playing for about 30 mins you get back into the way it drives. It was quite realistic for each type of vehicle as in under and over steer. Although with shooting I could never do freeaim whenever it comes to escaping the police station I end up having to go out the front door as never can shoot the box in time
Till right now at this moment, i havemt known that it was a motion capture system :O my first game i played with that system was 10 years late LA Noire :O

Exactly. The gameplay was god-awful. Black Monday was a definite improvement, though. The gameplay in Black Monday wasn’t as horrendous.

i never knew that the actually modelled mark hammoned so realisticly. it was the first time i saw the actor and he actually looks quite similar
