    Thank you Denis for posting this classic later-day performance by the legendary Stan Getz...from the same period of his brilliant career, love his "Apasionado" cd produced by Herb Alpert now available on Amazon as an Import & I believe was Stan's last studio release and one of his finest with Kenny Barron on keyboards!

    0:40 ... Really hard to do that with Stan's setup .. Stan could make his horn bark when he wanted to .. The melodic and tonal master of the saxophone for all time ...

      Ivar Westerberg it doesn’t have to be a competition though-I love both of them and Coltrane himself said “ We’d all sound like that if we could” when talking about Stan Getz ;)

    No swing! That’s why Stan came out snapping his fingers in 2&4 lol 😂 that big band doesn’t swing man !!!!

  • @blueyedboymrdeath
    @blueyedboymrdeath 12 років тому

    What's the date on this? Stan sounds great as usual, swinging hard and lyrically, but he doesn't look very healthy - not only a little puffy looking, but looks like he's working at it, a bit uncomfortable at times.

    I like Coltrane's driving rhythm better -- this is too bouncy (by comparison) IMHO

      WTF kind of dumbass phobic shit is this and besides that, what has it got to do with one of the greatest sax players of all jazz history. Imbecile. To troll elsewhere.

    Terrible arrangement and awful pianist, messing up the changes to a very simple song. Even if there was a key change.
