You took the words out of my mouth as I wanted to write just that in my comment. When I read yours, I thought: Nevermind! The feeling has spread all over the hearts of many others! Prost!
stan getz sound is nice but he overkills it by sustaining too much, like miles said once, why sustain and vibrato, you can do that when your old!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Gents, that reminds me of the old story..... Don Byas one told Stanley Getz how they use to call for their Schaeferdog/ Munsterlander mongrels in the Gruger Park in Ober-Erkenschwick: "Komm getz Her!" (Come here or you'll take da stick!") Well, well........it didn't add to their friendship LOL.
I believe it was Coltrane who said once (when asked what he thought of Stan Getz's tone): "Let's face it, we'd all sound like that if we could."
Chick on Rhodes..and Getz..smile..Tony playing brushes..what a version of that tune..:)
Simply wonderful.
Nobody did it like Stan the Man.
Thank you so much, amico.
One of the most inspired versions of "I Remember Clifford" that I've ever heard.
You can't imagine the big smile on my face while I'm listening to it.
Yes, I can, Cause I'm thrilled too by this rendition (not to mention Chick, of course)

One of my favorite songs to play. Dexter Gordon does it incredibly also on a great ballads album that is up now.
I'm right with Coltrane here. Stan was THE BEST!
I can't, for the life of me, figure out how in the world Stan Getz produced that sound.
It's never been reproduced since.
No one could play Getz !!! But Getz could play anyone. Anyone !!!..... absolutely #1 ..................( #2 Gordon )
