    This is very clear and concise! Is it possible to pare this with a textbook, like Genki I, and go into depth consistent with the table of contents with the book? In any case, you are an excellent teacher and thank you!

    I have a question. I see some sites/people using juu for ten and some using ju, when writing various numbers in romanji. Which one is the standard, or it doesn't matter?

    • @myjapanese_tmk
      @myjapanese_tmk  5 років тому +3

      As you pointed out, there are several ways to write Hiragana in Romaji. The number 10 is written as 「じゅう」 in Hiragana. It contains a long vowel sound. When you follow pronunciation, it becomes 「ju^」.(I am using up arrow「^」to show long vowel sound. ) When you write in romaji following Hiragana way, it becomes「juu] (「じゅ」 ⇒「 ju 」,「 う 」⇒「 u 」). As for long vowel sound, pls check this video.://ua-cam.com/video/aSn0PvFnMCA/v-deo.html

      @@myjapanese_tmk Thank you very much for the response. So, 21 could be written as niju(arrow)ichi instead of nijuuichi?

    • @myjapanese_tmk
      @myjapanese_tmk  5 років тому +1

      If following the way to pronounce 21, yes "niju^ ichi ". To match the Hiragana spelling, some people write as "nijuuichi". In my lesson, I add romaji to support pronunciation. :)
