These two dresses I’m literally on the cusp of wanting to sew to take on holiday with, so this was the perfect video - thank you ❤ Beautiful dresses, as you look wonderful in them 😊x
Your holiday sounds amazing. Beach, restaurant, and then lounging about in a beautiful villa is the perfect vacation. My 38G bust would not pass in public in the Lois but it looks beautiful on you.
Love both of your dresses. I'll never make another strappy dress now I'm over 70 and rather on the top heavy side, but I do really like yours. Love that fabric, too; not my colour, but it's great for you. I have the Lois dress pattern and really love the shape, but when I made a toile, it was far too boobylicious for me. I wasn't confident enough to alter the neckline then, but I will have a go now. I have a wedding to attend in September and that would fit the bill perfectly.
Hi Alex another great vlog, I love watching them all. You have a lovely nature with an honest look at your makes. I love your 2 dresses, especially the Lois dress. Tessuti do Greta patterns for sure. Your fabric is cool too! Looking forward to see what you makes from it ❤
Lots of great tips in today's video! Thank you for highlighting #sewlimitedsizing so I can know at the moment if it might or might not fit. Re-united with some fabric! Love it. Looking forward to finding out what you will make.
I do like your vlogs Alex - quality over quantity which is perfect. 👍. Loved both dresses- they both really suited you and the colours were perfect on you. I’ve never sewed viscose crepe but I’ll be looking out for it now. I made bikini bottoms several years ago and they looked just awful 😱. Maybe I’ll try again now I’ve got a little more sewing experience. Thanks for all your tips and advice.
Great vlog I also made the Sicily slip dress and I thought it was too tight around the bust but now looking at yours it’s fits the same so am feeling better about the fit now. I have the same lines going across at the high bust. You look lovely in your dresses ❤
You look so amazing, totally refreshed from your holiday! Love both dresses, I've noticed alot of Lois dresses too. I've had the pattern for years and not got round to it, I wonder why. Totally love the Sicily slip dress. Have made it as a top but not made the dress. Love it. ❤
Well you certainly chucked a spanner, and as a result I went straight on to buy the Lois pattern in merry copycat fashion. Hope mine ends up as fabulous as yours.
Both dresses are gorgeous, but the Lois is particularly stunning on you. I think that neckline looks great; I hope you end up feeling more comfortable with the lower cut, it looks so good.
Both dresses look great on you. Ooh, great tip regarding trying on at an early stage with french seams 😂 I’m on holiday in a couple of weeks - so many things I want to make before I go😊 Really hoping someone near me in Kent starts a sewing social. I would love to sew with other people. I do have you tube creators with me in my sewing room 😊
It’s so lovely to get together with other sewists, I hope you have a great holiday and don’t stress to much about sewing before you go. When you’re away you don’t really care too much about what you’re wearing 😁
Your Lois dress looks amazing in that fabric. I have had the Sicily pattern and some cheap fabric to give it a go, seeing yours has sparked me to give it a go - first time sewing on the bias.
I love both dresses, but #1 just looks so amazing on you. Too bad swimsuit sewing didn't work out, but it definitely isn't for everyone. I will admit i loved sewing my own swimsuits when i was younger, not as many fit issues. But unfortunately our bodies change as we get older. I will still continue making my own just different style. I also love the idea of a sewing social but have never heard of any where i live. I thought of starting one but just not sure if i want the responsibility of organizing it. Your holiday sounds lovely. I am off work this week and am excited to stay home! Hopefully, i will make a few summer items and also help hubbie in the garden. Unfortunately, the weather looks like rain most of the week, so bike rides and kayaking might not happen. I can see some kind of jacket/coat made from your new fabric.
Wonderful to see you back Alex! Your holiday sounds amazing. Love both your dresses - fabulous summer makes. I've lost my sewing room temporarily to family members so have to get my sewing enjoyment vicariously 🙂 All the best from NZ
Oh.. both of your dresses are so gorgeous Alex 😍 and the fabrics are beautiful too 👌💞. Fit you perfectly. Glad you had a wonderful holiday.. sounded amazing. I had a holiday booked for Greece a few years ago and it was cancelled because of the flight and we ended up going to Turkey instead.. which was lovely but I still have a hankering to go to Greece and still haven't made it.. maybe one day 🙏😁🏝️💖😘
Thanks Sally, honestly you'd love it, unless you want a mega partying style holiday 😀. It was so beautiful on Ithaca, the most amazing beaches and great food - my idea of a perfect holiday.
I love your dresses, Alex, and I really want to try the Scilly so thanks for sharing your tips and sizing. Also thanks very much for the shout out for my social. I really appreciate it and I’m really looking forward to sewing and socialising with you. 😊 ❤
I love how your dresses turned out Alex. Especially the one you are wearing. It looks so comfortable. I think that lively fabric you showed at the end would make a beautiful a-line jean type skirt. I just saw a pattern for one get released but I'm having a senior's moment and can't think of who it was by. It was a lovely midi length and would have been perfect.
I've been wanting to make both those patterns and I actually have the same green Atelier Brunette fabric! Thank you for showing us your beautiful finished dresses😃
Pleased that you had such a great holiday. I love both of your dresses especially the Lois. We are off to Spain next week, could I make it and do I have some fabric????? I wish that I could make the sewing meet up but the birthday party that we are going to on 22nd is a special one. Take care.x
As if you don't have the fabric Chris! Didn't you buy some in Dewsbury? Shame about the 22nd, but hopefully Nadia will make it a regular thing - have a fab holiday
Lovely dresses Alex. Totally agree about swimwear. Ive just bought 2 industrial size bikinis for my holiday. They hold everything in place so I have a bit of confidence wearing them.
Your dress looks gorgeous Alex, really suits you. I haven’t made this one with a large bust I don’t where it would be suitable to wear. Love the skirt line reminds me of the Armidale dress, Deb 🪡🧵💕
Both dresses look fabulous on you. I’ve been patiently waiting for the sizing for the Lois to be updated, as they have a lot more size diversity in their latest patterns. Or my size coming down from working out since December - whichever comes first.
I didn’t know that, sounds like they’ve been listening, I’m so pleased as they have some great patterns. Enjoy working out, I can’t believe I’ve stuck at it 😁
Ah thank you. I realised why I bought the pattern, and now I might just be ready to give it a go. You look stunning in both, and that green is gorgeous. Xx
Hi Alex. I love seeing all of your makes and find them really inspiring: a big thanks for introducing the Ose Delano top and dress, I've made 4 or 5 by now all thanks to you. I had made the Lois dress a couple of years ago but found fitting difficult- I have small bust, large hips and sway back. Yours looks amazing and the fabric is just right. I also like the styling of the Dovetail dress and made a hip length version as a toile so here's a heads-up... I found it tight around the armhole, gaping at the back neck, and quite tight across the front chest. I measured really carefully, grading specially to get the hip measurement right, but will try again and size up to get it right. I may even fit darts in the back shoulder as in the Merchant and Mills Florence dress to get a better fit. Good luck, here's looking forwards to your next makes.
I'm so pleased you like the Delano, I'm seriously contemplating another more Summery version. Thanks for the Dovetail heads up, have you considered getting in touch with The Sewing Revival? Janine is really helpful.
hi Alex, Im a sewist based in Bolton and would love to attend the social sewing event. Do you have more details of who I contact? Your dresses are both beautiful, I've been looking at the Lois Dress but was put off by the low front, Seeing yours has made me reconsider so thank you xx
Shame about your experience with sewing bathing suits - it has been so liberating for me to have ones exactly as I like and perfectly fitted. The dresses are gorgeous.
Gorgeous Lois Alex, I'm a huge fan of that dress, looked for the fabric and of course it's sold out, glad you had a relaxing break x
These two dresses I’m literally on the cusp of wanting to sew to take on holiday with, so this was the perfect video - thank you ❤
Beautiful dresses, as you look wonderful in them 😊x
You are so welcome!

Wow. You look amazing in both your fabulous dresses! Beautifully made as ever with beautiful fabrics. I can only aspire!
Beautiful makes the Lois is my fav. ❤️💚💜💙

Both dresses are lovely and gorgeous on you! Happy to hear your holiday was wonderful!
The Lois dress is gorgeous and really suits you. I love the style but know I couldn't wear the low cut neckline. Two lovely summer dresses 👌
Your tessuti dress looks lovely
Gorgeous dresses and gorgeous fabric ❤
Thank you! 😊
Your first dress makes you LOOK like vacation! Great call, it’s the perfect match of design, fabric and you.
Oh thank you!

I have made two of the Lois dresses. Never have I considered putting a zipper in. You don't need it at all. I do agree it is a really nice dress.
These dresses look fabulous on you!
Love both of your dresses and the fabric.
Thank you so much!
Very beautiful dress fabric.
Both dresses are gorgeous, but the Lois is particularly stunning on you. I think that neckline looks great; I hope you end up feeling more comfortable with the lower cut, it looks so good.

Both of your dresses are lovely. The green fabric is beautiful.
I think so too!
Pattern Emporium Smitten Jacket - one version made in swimwear fabric. It looked stunning. Love both of your dresses.
I checked out Kate at Pattern Emporium and she makes lots of garments out of swimwear fabrics.
Love your dresses. I've made the Lois dress. It is a beautiful dress however i need to learn how to raise the neckline ❤

Thank you so much! Was it the new one from Style Arc? I’ve got my eye on it 😂
@@AlexJudgeSews yes, that's the one. I thought of you as soon as I saw it.
Both gorgeous dresses. You can wear the sicily dress anywhere it's perfect 🥰
Thanks so much, I hope so, I need the sun to come back to the NW.
@@AlexJudgeSews I'm in Liverpool sunny is shining again today x
I've been wanting to make both those patterns and I actually have the same green Atelier Brunette fabric! Thank you for showing us your beautiful finished dresses😃
You are so welcome! You clearly have great taste 😂
Gorgeous makes, Alex. ❤

Great makes, I gave up on the Lois dress but inspired to give it another go after seeing yours. Love the slip dress wish I had the body for it.
You can do it!
Alex, both of your dresses look lovely😍.
Oh thank you!
Beautiful dresses Alex, as for the idea of making swimwear that is something I would never attempt, I know my limits 😂
Wise woman 😀
Nice video, look amazing in green, thanks for sharing
So nice of you
Your dress looks gorgeous Alex, really suits you. I haven’t made this one with a large bust I don’t where it would be suitable to wear. Love the skirt line reminds me of the Armidale dress, Deb 🪡🧵💕
Even with a small bust I'm super aware 😂. You're right the skirt is similar, looks like a have a type!

Hooray, I’m sure it’ll be a great day
Always great to see you. Love your new dresses, particularly Lois. I’ve had that pattern in my box for a few years. Xx
I adore the dress you made recently (the one that kept going wrong) ❤️
Ah thank you. I realised why I bought the pattern, and now I might just be ready to give it a go. You look stunning in both, and that green is gorgeous. Xx
