This gal is a jazz genius, and I intend to listen to a lot more of her music, and see her live again. This performance to me isn't just three musicians making it up as they go along in an improv jam session as is so common in some venues. The hard work they put in is evident in the way this piece was written, rehearsed, and performed - even beyond the obvious technical skills displayed. This is one fine piece of jazz, and a joy to watch and listen. Thank you for posting.

    I'm not even a fan of jazz but for some reason this is absolutely hypnotic, the way she smacks the keys with the feverish pulse of a bongo taps into my reptile brain like nothing I've heard before! This is true music right here, the exulting soul unleashed in sound!

    Honestly, I don't see how this is different from the Corey Henry's solo in Lingus, and many consider that to be the pinnacle of our generation. This is at the least at the same level. Incredible!

    • @molomono9481
      @molomono9481 2 роки тому +5

      It's considered the pinnacle by many not because it is, but because it is to those who have heard it. Snarky Puppy and Vulfpeck are the go to popular artists within the context of popular groovy jazz, so for many it is their first exposure to such music. There are so many examples of non-convential masterpieces.

    • @cyrussmith4744
      @cyrussmith4744 2 роки тому +8

      Many of the "greatest" works in art are just considered like that because they got luckier to be found and garner an audience than other works , not really because they are the "greatest". Don't get me wrong, they are still great and deserve recognition (I love the Lingus solo, for example), but that doesn't change the fact that many of these artists (if not all of them) just got luckier than others

    • @louisprotzer8138
      @louisprotzer8138 2 роки тому

      For me the structure of a solo like we have it in lingus is a one in a million take. It hypnotizes cory and everyone listening to it. And of course hiromis solo is technically on a really high level. The Language she plays doesnt appear to be completely made up on spot. When playing a solo with those block voicing variations, it is something you can just practice and dont need to have that hypnotizing licks to sound great. It is a good solo dont tho ;)
