- Welcome to part one on the SkyWing 60" Yak 54 assembly where I go over basic airframe prep on how I get a nice long lasting finish out of these types of planes. It really does help the life of the airframe, to take the time to do these extra steps in giving you a nice long lasting airframe.

she looks SWEET!!
Beautiful plane!!
Yes very nice plane
Nice build man. Would love your review of the X20S, I’ve been eyeing that one up for awhile now.
Love the build vids. Thanks. 😊
Nice job!, what color covering for this scheme? Looking for the blue color.
Not totally sure I understand what your question is yes there is a blue scheme for this plane.
Are cockpits and canopies removable?
No it’s all one solid piece
Too bad cause I really need access to the cockpit to mount fpv cameras.@@millerrc5829
What temp are you running your iron at?
A medium setting
You don't have a actual temp? I have an infrared thermometer I check my iron temps with as it is dependent on what iron you are using and I use a lot of different brands of covering@@millerrc5829
I probably didn't need to ask that because I believe Skywing uses Oracote and I have the recommended temperatures, tack: 90 ºC (194 ºF) and shrink: 150 ºC (300 ºF) . I have a Hangar 9 iron and the mediium setting is 280°F (138°C) ±27°F (15°C). The ±27°F (15°C) variation is the reason I use the thermometer.
By the way, that's a beautiful plane. I lean towards Sukhoi's when it comes to round engined monoplanes but that Yak is sweet. I am putting a SW 48" Extra NG together with a 6S power set up.
