- First off Happy New Year, and Welcome to 2024
We are ending the Year with a bang ,and photographing the simply amazing 60 Buick Invicta by Cal Auto Creations for GoodGuys and Modern Rodding.
The Buick won everything it entered in 23 starting with the Slonaker Award at GNRS then an elite list of the best of the best shows across the US.
The list included:
GoodGuys Custom Rod of the Year
Triple Crown of Rodding Best Custom
SEMA Battle of the Builders overall winner at the SEMA show, and the list goes on and on and on.
Also while I was there I had Erik Hanson give me a quick walk through of his daily driver blown flathead powered hotrod, and my second favorite Corvette of 23 haha.
Hope y'all have a great New Year, and enjoyed the video Im going to do more of these in the New Year.
Thanks for Watching

I saw this at the Speedway Motors, Museum of American Speed, Wheelhub event. Beyond words.. Stunning is an understatement.
Yes sir I’m glad they showed it as much as they did in 2023 it’s a true piece of automotive art.
Thanks for watching
Stunning! Many thanks from 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 fast becoming my favourite car channel ! Good work ! Happy new year
Well happy new year, and thanks for the kind words.
I get lucky to photograph great cars from great builders they deserve all the credit.
Should have more videos like this one in the NewYear 🙏 🍻
That Buick is an amazing car, some serious fab work !!
Yea I easily could have made a seven hour video just on the fab work 😂
That Buick is beautiful! Can see how it won so many awards. Happy New Year!🎉
Happy New Year as well, and thanks for watching.
Wish I would have had a bare metal video for all you guys to go along with it, but just wasn’t in the cards.
That chopped 5 window coupe reminds me of the Pileup years. Really miss that show
Yea the great old days. You should check out Gathering at the Roc if you enjoy the more traditional cars(that aren’t VW’s 😂)we have a couple of video up on it from the last few years.
Thanks for watching it’s greatly appreciated
Happy New Year!
Right back at you man……. I think it’s going to be a great year for cars.
What a way to start 2024! If it rolls out of Cal Auto Creations, rest assured its going to be noteworthy!😎 Love the channel!!!
Thanks for the kind words I had 215 automotive photoshoots last year, and it was the best.
Thanks for watching
Super sweet cars. Can't wait to see what coming next. Thank you for sharing the videos!
I can’t either I’m always excited to see cars finished, and out on the road at shows.
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Superb Buick! The engine didn’t sound like a 401. No wonder it’s a winner with so much attention to detail. So pleased that your van is back up and running. I will look forwards to your work throughout 2024 that’s for sure. Cheers and all the best take care.
Yea that engine bay is a knockout just like the rest of the car.
The van has been running great I’m currently sleeping in it at Johnsons hotrod shop doing some photo work on their upcoming AMBR contender that will debut next month at the roadster show.
Looking forward to making and posting more videos this year so I’m glad at least one person will watch 😂
Stunning! I was hoping for some of the finished photos though lol. What magazine will they be in so I can check them out?
There are a few finished photos when andy is talking about the cars at the end.
They will ultimately be in the GoodGuys Gazette and Modern Rodding print magazines.
Thanks for watching
Looking forward to that Jeep, I have to say your still shots are amazing!
Awww thanks man I’m truly blessed with some amazing cars and locations.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Nice 😊😊😊
🙏
Once again outstanding episode and welcome to Nebraska, you could have picked a warmer day!
(Every time I long in and see one of your post it the first thing I watch).
Hey thanks for the kind words, and I love Nebraska……… when it’s not December 😂 .
I actually kept putting it off after Scottsdale goodguys trying to get a day in the 50’s, but I think that happened two days after I left.
Thanks for watching I’m going to do more of these shop/car videos this year just trying to figure out how I want to do them.
wow amzing ride sir
One of the best handbuilt cars ever
Hey John, Happy New Year!! Love the way that Buick looks and the Vette is so nice. Really a nice video to watch. My Dad sold those cars new.
Hey Nick Happy New Year glad you enjoyed it hope I can come up and hang out this year…… just sunset not sunrise 😂.
That buick is amazing and the vette is no slouch.
Thanks for watching
Wow, that Buick sounds way more nasty (and a bit hard to start) than I ever expected a show custom to sound! 😲
Yea she’s a beast, and not just some basic LS motor. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I heard it run myself.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and have a great new year.
Vette dude should be cheesed his awesome C2 is an afterthought next to that BUICK!!!
Yea how much does that suck. You have such a badass corvette, and this debuts out of the shop the same year 😂
I dont think he’s that mad he has the second best corvette of 23.
Hey thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
The Buick is a very special car.....Hows the van working with the new motor
The vans been running great we replaced everything under the hood including motor mounts………I forgot how smooth it was when it was new 😂.
Thanks for watching
damn dig the dudes 30-31 ford reminds me of my 29 roadster wish i lived in california like you folk cars turn to dust sittin and nowhere to park land is at a premium in the north east with the housing crisis and all.... :)
Yea Erik is one of the coolest dudes I know and drives his stuff everywhere he doesn’t have time for shiny paint and billet parts just a great working hotrod
Ill wipe the drool off my computer, never seen a better 60.
I don’t think there has ever been one this well built and perfect…….. those guys killed it.
Thanks for taking the time to watch
GM used to be at the top of the design heap, IMO.
Yes sir by a long shot
Really enjoyed this vid thank you. I sing a song in my band about a 1960 Buick LeSabre called Ghost Stripper from Virginia City by Cupid and the Cowboy, love those 60’s Buicks - please check out my song on youtube
Hey thanks for taking the time to watch I’ll go check it out
