I saw the Jimi Hendrix Experience live in concert twice. I'm certain there was/is/and shall never be any one like him, so I consider myself extremely fortunate to have seen him twice. An 'experience' I treasure and will never forget ...
@@misterx8592 I sure am. It was like looking into the future, because Jimi was way ahead of his time. He didn't even seem like an earthling. Quite possibly he wasn't ....
I salute you Sir- I was born in 1970 and have seen scores of concerts but Hendrix will always be number one of artists / bands I have missed. Truly the greatest of all time (imo).
@@jasonph2522 Thank you, Jason. The fact that you appreciate the virtuosity of Jimi, having never seen him, because of your age, tells me that you really appreciate true musical skill and individuality, as I do. All the best to you in 2024 and beyond ... a fellow music lover, Dave ...
Saw him in November 68 with a band he was producing, Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys opened the concert. Our tickets were $4.00, I was maybe 20 feet from him . Jim
So I went to my local pub, expecting an evening of blues with John Mayall. Then at half time, Jimi came on and took over guitar. That was a rare treat.
Hope you enjoyed yourself and good luck on this venture. This is a Bob Dylan song. Lots of people have covered it but even Dylan counts Jimi's version as the best.

First saw Hendrix at Cafe Wah in the village. I was 16.
He had such a gentle voice too , You'd like Have you ever been to electric ladyland , Also check out Hear my train acoustic version to see him play just him on his own :)

@@gooblereacts Yes, and, there were real great singer in the rock, blues, history....Queen, Freddie Mercury, Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, Ian Gillian from Deep Purple....Monstruous, beautiful, unreal voices....But, i'm a guitarist, Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin are my favourite's, but i love all the musicians, all the singers, David Gilmour, of Pink Floyd, is one of the greatest guitarist, like Eric Clapton, but they have some fantastic voices too, and, i hate when somebody only speaks about 1 person....All those bands were legendary because, there was a chemestry between the guys! Today, you have a frontman, front woman, and you can change the musicians behind....(even more because it's play-back)😢Watch all those bands, playing live....You will realize... Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin, will kill you, as a singer😅🤭And the band is just too good... My hero is Jimi Hendrix, but, of course, he wasn't the greatest singer... But, i'm sure, you're like me, and you can appreciate all the music....✌️👍🌹I wait on your next reaction
Jimi played left-handed, pretty much upside-down and backwards and self taught. Jimi did some hard drugs, that eventually took his Life way too soon. You say he looked relaxed, well, drugs will do that. A few suggestions if I may: Castles Made of Sand.....Little Wing.....Bold As Love......and his version of the Star Spangled Banner like you've never heard it.
@@gooblereacts.......This just may be my personal opinion, but if I were to be asked about which song of his was the best, I would have to say they all are. Lotta 'when I was young' memories in this music for me. Thank You for listening to and reacting to the music of 'my' generation, and validating the timelessness of it.
Jimi arrived in the UK in October 1966, brought over by Chas Chandler of The Animal who had seen him in New York playing Hey Joe which Chandler already thought would be a hit record. He recorded that as his first single and it was featured on the top TV music show in the UK Top of The Pops in December 1966. He played a lot of gigs with the Experience in 1966/67 as Chandler didnt have much money to support him, finally releasing his first album in May 1967. In September 1967 the British musicians weekly paper Melody Maker readers poll voted him "greatest musician in the world today". So in just 11 months he went from Jimi Who? to Jimi f**King Hendrix. The Beatles were fans of Hendrix and Paul McCartney insisted that he should play the Monterey Pop Festival in June 1967, where he burnt his guitar as seen in the footage, and was introduced to American music fans thanks to 2 British Invasion musicians...

This is not a music video, it is a compilation and overdubbing. There were no music videos of Jimi, only occasional concert footage and home movies. It’s best to listen without video, just let the music talk. Please do research on the songs first, otherwise you’ll keep confusing folks with inaccuracies. But keep at it! This was a historic song, one of the most important in all rock and roll.
Yes it was the only thing I found that had "official video" attached. Thank you so much for the info. I will definitely be doing a little research before viewing in the future, I was just worried doing research would give me spoilers. Thank you for the support!
@@gooblereacts Glad I could help! So, what follows is just my opinion from watching very many reaction videos. I think certain things are vital to know for every song, like writer, versions, date, and who played, and founding date of the band. Other things should be learned ahead if the consensus is to do so. For example on lyrics, always have them _ready_, and read at least the first line before playback, but then only as needed during the song. Lastly, choosing the best recording of a given song requires outside help: there are wayyy too many poor recordings reacted to. Okay, best of luck and thanks! 😃
Jimi was only 25 years old when he recorded this song. Originally by Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan said that it his now. This version is iconic.
greatest and first real guitarist. he led the way. everyone after him tried to emulate.

The holy trinity of psichedelic era: Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin & Jimi Hendrix, the three "J's" 🔼
Don't forget about the 4th J - Jefferson Airplane
Left-hand player so great wow
Jimi could play right handed as well, but preferred Lefty because in is own words he felt more comfortable.

'Hey Joe' has wild guitar playing
but disturbing lyrics...
try his rendition of the naational anthym at woodstock.
Do his cover of Johnny B Goode! That is the real shit, it is from a live concert in Berkeley, it is the most AWESOME!
