They are quite different. The evo doesn’t have such an adjustable chassis. It’s harder to make an evo dance around. The R5 on the other hand is so supple and you can almost do what you like with it. The evo is still a very quick car, but it’s road car underpinnings and development as a production car yield limitations, that are difficult to overcome. Ultimately, the R5 is a purpose built rally car as opposed to a modified road car (albeit a very good one).
Iain is THE MAN for driver coaching, I was a novice who stupidly bought a 6R4 and Iain turned me into someone who could drive it!
I’m aware mate. You’ve done good with Iain’s help 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks @@Richard_Weaver - certainly couldn't;t have done it without him!
Love these videos. Not much like it online, so keep it up :)
Thanks - the intention is to give a clubman perspective on R5 ownership.
Glad you like them!
Ooo, a Checkmate in the background
Thank you for your comment, but I’m a bit too thick to understand what you mean?😅
@@Richard_Weaver the Mini next to the R5!
Ah I see!!! 👍🏻😊
Hi there thanks for the great content! Wonder how would you describe the difference between driving the evo vs the R5?
