The road car has more H.P. than the Le mans car which got restricted after it won Le mans . so a V8 is pointless

Young Rody lol they couldn’t even fit a v8 in that tiny engine bay. A v6 is the only engine they could have used that would have allowed the car to keep the teardrop shape that you saw from the aerial view. A teardrop is the most aerodynamic shape. That’s what they wanted.

J. is best car reviewer. Glad to see him back in action. High rev V6 twin turbo cars with the right piping/exhaust sound amazingly clean and have tons of power. But being mid engine and new tech he hears more engine than exhaust and no turbo spool/blow off (no fun). The V6 is impressive in the GT but Ford should've used a one off V8 engine with a custom hatch exhaust. I have a feeling the new C8 Z51 750hp vette is going to run near identicle for a fraction of the price. The Ford GT has always been a great looking car but gen 3 is too expensive and not enough meat on the bone.

Only issue is reliability. You cant insure the reliability of a one off custom engine when it is being rung out, HARD, for 24 hours at Le Mans. These 3.5 EcoBoost's are fantastic engines, and have proven themselves over the course of nearly 10 years that they are pretty deadnuts reliable. Also, I would disagree with the "high rev", as these are extremely torquey. Theres a reason they put them in F-150's. it is an american v6 after all lol.

I’d like to see a successor to the GT that’s a completely different car model but with the same design taste but more luxurious like a Ferrari then add a larger body design to fit a naturally aspirated v10, it would be an utter masterpiece of a GT cruiser

M.A. M.R. I know I just meant a super powerful engine meaning no overkill like v12 but still able to be tuned much farther than a v6 so I thought v10 feel free if you have any concepts to share I’d like to know your thinking too!
It was built as a racecar FIRST. So they went with aerodynamics and put in a really reliable engine.

Honestly though how much more would an aluminum v8 weigh compared to a v6 with not one but two turbos and the necessary piping?
a decent amount more. First of all, the engine block most likely can't be aluminium due to strength. Second crankshaft, cylinders, etc must be a steel related material for reliability. And you can't make a small v8 without making very complex.

It has many holes, which could have been used for something. Cometh on a rocket is not new, murcielago and elise did it. Cars are a sock, and it's stupid "to improve it" by making holes in it.

V8 fanboys literally only care about the sound honestly, ford made the original GT40 for the express purpose of thrashing ferrari and it did; i guarantee they did not put an ounce of thought into what it sounded like or how many cylinders it had. the RS200 was and is a race icon on the same level as the GT40 and it came with a straight 4

Cars need to have presence, need to work with broken aerodynamics, need to not be pushed around easily. Any car that's lighter than 1000kg, doesn't really exist.
Just make a v8 or v12 already... please no v10 shart. The v6 isnt all that lighter if its all made out of aluminum anyhow twin turbo a 5.2 voodoo and put out another 120-180 wheel horsepower
