Track 34 from The Castle of Cagliostro's score (I do not know the official title, but must assume it is Samba Temperado) - Composed by Yuji Ohno

As a hardcore Lupin III fan, Cagliostro, despite being one of the oldest feature length films in the franchise, remains one of the few that still holds up extremely well as its own standalone movie. With Cagliostro, I can also easily trick all my friends into watching a Lupin III movie by telling them it’s a Miyazaki film 🤭
I absolutely *love* pulling the ol’ “But don’t you wanna see the first Miyazaki movie?” on my friends when they try to stop me from putting it on lol
@@TRRYT Exactly. They basically CAN'T refuse
This is a good romp that's well crafted but it's a far cry from the highs of The Mystery of Mamo.
I sometimes think about how, i the loosest sense, Cagliostro is a legacy sequel
Genuinely really interested to hear about this. How do you figure?
@@TRRYT It’s a direct continuation of the original source material (in this case Part 1), it reused a variety of shots and story beats from the original product, and it features the original cast as older and more mature. I know it isn’t a legacy sequel because of the rest of the franchise, I just think it’s funny how it basically established all of the traits that they would eventually have.
@@sTechno-uu8kf That’s surprisingly solid, now that I consider it. The cast does clearly have history with each other, more than it normally feels like given how Fujiko talks about Lupin to Clarisse. I haven’t seen Part 1 so I wasn’t really able to pick up on it, but it’s really interesting. It *was* Miyazaki’s last major involvement with the franchise beyond those two episodes of Part 2, so perhaps he really did want to approach with a legacy sequel mindset. Or at least the 1979 equivalent of that.
i love lupin the third! im so excited for this video
Hope you enjoyed it!
Great retrospective. About to give it a watch right now. Nice work, hope you continue with reviewing!
Hope you enjoy the film! I will do my best to work on videos (finals at school certainly isn't helping lol)
@@TRRYT very much enjoyed the film! My thanks
@@reet-ko9lg That's so great to hear! If I have one goal with this channel it's to spread the word about films like these and encourage people to watch and study them. It means so much to me that you found and enjoyed this through my video, and I appreciate your support. Thank you!
yooo absolutely amazing content dude. can't wait to see you grow
thank you, Sir Sam. I shall continue to serve the best work possible.
I love this movie, but my mom doesn't, and I'll never understand why.
My mom usually stays away from anything animated, but she seems to have a soft spot for Miyazaki. So I’ve been able to get her to watch this, though I’m sure she probably fell asleep in the middle lol
@@TRRYT My mom thought this movie was fine, but the first Miyazaki movie I showed her was "Spirited Away", and she was freaked out by the whole thing. She definitely didn't like that one.
Two videos so close to each other? Yeah I’m leaving for another half year, seeya
On a serious note, I’m glad I was able to get this video up and out before midnight, which I unfortunately wasn’t able to do with last year’s Evangelion 2.0 video.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Love u bro man
love u too bro man
Great video! While I do think this film is absolutely beautiful the only thing that turns this off for me is the pacing. I remember the first time I watched this earlier this year it was an absolute slog. It was much easier to get through on the second watch, so I might give it one more soon to see how it goes now that I'm deeper into the franchise.
Totally get where you’re coming from. I found it on Netflix ~2 years ago and found it a hard watch. I think what’s odd is that Lupin seems to get better and better on rewatches, because you get more and more familiar with the characters and you’re always looking into their interactions. Hope you enjoy it if you rewatch it!
nice
the amount of times you've referenced the Oceans films in your videos despite not having seen them
To be fair I have seen Eleven, which is why I used it here
Do I though?
I cannot understate how much you do, yes.
@@TRRYT what if I don’t, anyway?
@@stanleyhuang6684 your loss, I guess. But it’s always up to you! Watch what you want! I’m only here to make suggestions, not commands lol
@@TRRYT yea the commands are my job, watch AOT
