I’m a criminal defense attorney, and even I think that was a little bit harsh of a sentence. Remember, it’s a federal sentences so they won’t do all of that time. They’re not violent, don’t have criminal history, etc. I bet they both get paroled way before the aggregate 19 years in the title.
Suffice it to say that there won't be any botox treatments or rack adjustments for a few years. Should be a couple of prunes by the time they do their next interview.

Our prison system is a for profit system which is why. It's a non violent crime, noone said anything about not them getting off for it.

These sentences are ridiculous and absurd

Just thinking about what’ll happen to their children, I mean the two grown one are probably of age can definetly take care of the house and whatnot but what about the money? I love this couple and is surprised that they have done this. I am so sorry for the children and grandchildren. This is si sad to me because they seemed so family oriented too. What a mistake to make all in the name of money. When we are bless we should not be greedy but rather be grateful to God.

Funny how everyone loved their show and didn't miss an episode and now they are being humiliated and put down. They are serving their time. Paying for their mistakes. Don't judge now when you thought they were awesome all of these years. They have children and parents who have to deal. If you do anything. Pray for all of them.

@Mark your problem is thinking of the government as a separate entity. The government works for the people and is made up of the people. The government would survive based on what the people decided was necessary. Instead of the government saying gimme gimme gimme. The US didn't start out with all the taxes we have today. It started out with a flat 3 percent tax. They government didn't add the income tax until 100 years later during the Civil War to help fund the war. Americans today pay an absurd amount of taxes. The government takes 25% out of every single one of my paychecks

I didn't say they shouldn't get any taxes I'm saying they tax things like income that never should have been taxed and property and pretty much everything else they can tax. And you said yourself our country has grown, well that means more people as well so the incoming tax would be proportional.
@Mark the government should charge a flat tax on purchases. That's it. All the taxes you love to pay now never used to exist. They kept getting added in over time. The very reason the states broke away from England to begin with, unfair taxes
@Mark the income tax in 1913 was originally for high earners only not for everyday middle class Americans. And the states did break away because of taxes. They didn't want to pay taxes that were going to a land they didn't live in. So all these taxes we pay now didn't exist back then like you think they did
