    It would be great if you took a picture (not a frame grab from a video) of every test you run at the same settings so people could see the actual comparison with the same camera at the same exposure settings. You can see the device you are using dynamically adjusting it's exposure while you are filming and it makes it hard to truly tell whether one light is better than the next as the camera is constantly trying to hit proper exposure for the amount of light being presented.
    Start off with something like iso 100, f/4 or f/5.6 and 1/125th of a second, then just always use it. It would give everyone an even perspective of what different light provide when viewed the same way.

      An often overlooked point in all videos trying to demonstrate light intensity, but the Lux meter is still more accurate than your perception of brightness seen on a still image.

    • @canadianexposures
      @canadianexposures 3 роки тому +5

      @@mikw1809 Very true, but a lux reading is the amount of light at a single point in the beam. It would be more about showing the brightness across the pattern rather than a peak reading at a single central point.

    The problem with most led bulbs is they lack the hotspot of the halogen for down road visibility.... would be nice to see side by side comparisons with camera settings all the same... same f-stop, exposure and shutter speed so we can really compare the hot spot of the bulbs... thanks for the video.

    Hmmm interesting findings. For those of you who have Toyota Tacoma's and factory OEM projectors, I would still HIGHLY recommend the GTR Ultra 2's. Have them in my brother's Taco and he didn't have any of the light distribution/color band loss that was shown here. He's pushing a year with owning them and they're still just as bright as when we installed them back in January of this year

    Nice thing about the new Morimoto engineering is you should see stock beam pattern in all projectors and halogens whereas other LEDs it's really a Gamble if your light spread or beam pattern is going to be any good.
    Also I'm very surprised in all tests for Led headlight products there's never talk about how much lux is lost after the bulb comes up to temperature. Normally all LEDs will retain about 70 to 75% about put what's the temperature or about a 25 to 30% loss in brightness once at temperature. This is where HIDs and to still be better as they maintain LUX.

      Seems to be the best because it has a sharp hotspot. The gtr2 is more widespread and that's not good. You want a clear focused hotspot for down-the-road visibility.

      My brother has the GTR Ultra 2's in his 17 Tacoma and they look just like the 2 Stroke 3.0's featured here but, with way more intensity. He never lost any of his OEM color band or light distribution. And he's had them for almost year now with zero loss in output. I've personally had reliability/performance issues with the Morimoto 2.0's but, can't speak for the 3.0's. Take that as you will.

      Due to DOT regulations, many of the LED'S on the market have to be sold as "fog light use" or "off road use" only. Technically, one would be in violation of DOT standards by running these as a high or low beam, but it's highly unlikely you'd be getting pulled over. With so many vehicles coming stock with LED headlights, the average traffic cop isn't gonna be able to tell the difference between a stock LED vehicle and one that's had LED'S swapped in place of the original halogen bulbs.

    Its unfortunate that different tests for the same brands, get entirely different results. For example: GtR and Morimoto 3.0 . Another channel on YT( car light reviews) had the best results with GTR, followed by Morimoto . This negates the findings and see who did the most accurate testing, including evaluation of voltage drop off, lux, lumens , construction quality, adjustability for 3 and 9 positioning, fan design , kelvin color, and warranty length. This test, no offense, was of little to no help. Perhaps a more detailed breakdown and details on the installation would get more accurate and trustworthy.

    • @LightwerkzGlobal
      @LightwerkzGlobal  Рік тому

      No offense taken at all! Take what you see here with a grain of salt. Majority of any of these tests will come down to the optic that is used. Every projector and reflector will produce different results. Manufacture specs (details) and installation (same for every brand) make little to no difference. Real world performance, longevity, and reliability is all it comes down too. LED bulbs are never a one size fits all approach. We have enough experience to give a recommendation on what may work best on any particular model car. If you would like to discuss, please reach out!
