My favorite truck is one that’s paid for and runs good.
🎵🎶 I drove through the desert in a truck with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name cuz there ain't nobody to give you no pain.
LAAA LAAA LALAA LALAA LAA LALALAAAA LAAAA LAAAAA
I’m a ford guy because the ones I’ve owned have always been the most reliable stuff I’ve driven. However, I love all the old trucks, but in my opinion, the 65-79 era ford trucks and broncos are the best looking trucks and suvs ever made.
I think "sperg" is slang for someone with Asperger's. kinda mean
Thought the same, ignorant comment just because somebody is not immediately a natural in front of the camera. I’m sure whoever typed the comment sees themselves as brilliantly engaging…
Especially since asperger's is an outdated and bullshit term
@@rarelyright I haven't noticed any awkwardness in front of the camera, very intelligent for you to make such an observation though. some might even say brilliant.
It doesn't matter if it's Ford, Dodge or Chevy they all require maintenance !!!! I've owned all three and to be honest there's not one better than the other !!
No disagreement there but I would still have to put dodge as a whole 3rd. But I will say that dodges loyal fan base they've acquired over the years is 2nd to none! Never argue with a Mopar nut 🤣
The Chevy motor is number one . They use it in everything. When Dodge brought back the Hemi it was a lot better than the old 360
Agreed, I've never understood why guys are FORD haters. 🤔
@edwardcokley9224 when Dodge made the truck with the fender not part of the hood ,that body style was so cool and looked completely different than anything else on the road . But the all look a like again. If I had my 1500 Ram with a Hemi instead of the 360 I would have kept it. I ordered the Chevy 2500 8.1 4×4 ,4 door Alison transmission. That truck was a pulling machine.
Right! They're ALL the same. All junk, just w/a different brand name. 😁
All made great stuff - for me, before '73, and all made crappola - after '72-ish.
Internationals were the most overbuilt....'in my opinion'. Brand loyalty for the sake if it is mindless.
"Because my father had one therefore they're the best" is trumped up.
Oh Dude! I looked away while you were explaining how you were "planning" the fabrication design and I heard your dads voice! Now I can't unhear it! You are a chip off the old Corivair block!
Whatever happened to the project truck you were working on with your brother?
Colin is very busy with MOOR these days.. unexpected turn
He’s helping his brother. When he wants to work on it Rudy’s ready. Per his answer on another similar question on a prior video.
That old ford will outlast the new stuff by at least another 30 years.
The 6-speec manual trans that dodge used is hands down better then a 5 speed
I'm a Ford guy, so really enjoying this particular build. Also really enjoy the southwest swing music. Very fitting.
Great video Rudy.
At the risk of being a little obvious.... I've been through the desert in a truck with no name...
As long as the build gets you up to where the descendants of the monster elk in the background live then it will have done all it needs to do😂😂
man , you dont cover rust spot with fresh metal . you cut rust out re weild it then fix new metal , after you have it treated to prevent same said rust from grabbing truck again .
‘73-‘79 Ford’s are the nicest looking pickup ever! Been a dream off mine since I can remember to have one. Friends and even family on farms around me at a young age all had them. Love Dentside Fords!🇺🇸🙏
Paul Cox would be proud of that burnout 👍👍👍
I love watching buddies working together. Everybody brings their own talents (and banter) to the table. Good friends are as important as family in their own way. This is going to be one cool old truck when you boys are done.
FORD for work
CHEVY for playing
I'm a ford guy but ive always had chevys for street racing..
My first truck was a 76 F250 super cab. Right now I have a 2016 F250, 17 Expedition, and a 05 Excursion. In between I had a Chevy, a Dodge, and a GMC. Between those 3, I replaced all 3 engines and 2 transmissions. I sold the 76 with 200k on the original powertrain, and the Excursion passed the 200k 4 years ago, and is still all original. I have always been a big block Chrysler guy, but drive Fords to tow them with for the dependability.
Ive got my grandfathers 76 F250 sitting in my driveway. My kids love it and will be the 4th generation to drive it. 🍻
Alll of my trucks have always been Fords. My grandpa always had Fords. Outside of normal wear and tear, I've never had problems with Fords.
Agreed, I've had Ford trucks most of my life (I'm 69). They're good-looking, well built trucks.
I'm not a Ford guy, but they paid a lot of my wages over the yrs. I do think the Cummins is a game changer for that truck tho. Just remember that the 6cyl diesel is almost twice as heavy as the 460 ever was and build the suspension to suit it and it probably wouldn't hurt to add a few gussets and other frame strengthening devices to that old frame.
Cummins = General Motors? I wont swear to it but???
@@handyman75657 Actually, I believe Ford owns Cummins at the moment. I believe GM owns Detroit Diesel and at least a piece of Isuzu.
I believe that ford own the rights to cummins as they did a deal with GM under some sort of a contract but again, I am not sure and yes, GM owns Detroit and they have always owned Detroit...
@@darrinrebagliati5365
Cummins Turbo Technologies is an independent manufacturer. They are not owned by any automakers.
@@chrisestill8825 Sorry, Ford had a controlling interest in Cummins for a few yrs.
I grew up a ford guy and thought working on the truck 1 or 2 times per week was normal until I bought a chevy and only had to work on it about 1nce every year, so I bought another chevy and drove it for 3 years and never had to work on it. I bought another ford and had to work on it 3 times in 6 months. I went back to chevy for a few years then bought another ford and it cost me $10000.00 just to keep it on the road for 18 months before I was going to have to put another 5000.00 in it to keep it on the road, that is the last ford I ever bought or ever plan to buy. My wife had the same experiences with fords before we got married, NO FORDS ALLOWED NEAR ME!!!
I worked for 30 years in charge of a fleet of 87 vehicles GM and Ford. I worked on far more GM junk than the Fords.
Though I love these and other fabrication and vehicle fix-up videos, I must admit I’ve never understood the desire to do a burnout. I’m sure it’s a thrill to many, but I just don’t get it.
Completely agree; I could see 15 year olds getting off on it but not grown men. Oh well, to each their own.
It's a personal preference Rudy. They all have issues but I am a GM guy. The 350 and the LS awesome motors. Ford found on road dead. Ford fix or repair daily. Again it's just fun car stuff. The point is we love our vehicles.
At this time any old Classic truck is better than anything new . Plastic doesn't age well and you will not see a new truck as a classic in 40 years
I used to be on one side but as I got smarter I realized that it doesn’t matter what you have, if you like it that’s all that matters 🤷♂️👍
Thats a good old ford. Then new Fords and Chevys are not so good.
Great job of fabricating as always Rudy.
Ford's a good truck. I like dodges but for the body style of that I would get if I'm gonna put a metal for metal bin on the back of that in. Convert that to to put them on the 2013 2013 answers. I gotta do all them refrain for you. Frequents, and not another stuff on there. I would get another truck. The alarm sound that truck for farm. Ready this and get a medium, build a nice bed and find a bed for it. Find a bed for paint payment and drive it. But nice of LA d's. And front
That's rims and stuff give that nice coat a paint and go from there
Love the mud flaps
"Sketch Motors"
This not quite on topic, but my Dad had a new Oldsmobile every 2 years from 1942 till he was not able to drive in 1978. He used his vehicle for business and put an average of 100,000 miles on in a little over a year. I liked Ford... my truck was an F250 1972, and all I ever had to do was alternator, brake maintenance....and of oil change, etc. Had it 8 yrs.....automatic and pulled a 2 horse trailer fine.😊
See one burnout , you've seen them all . Nice , but not impressed . Time to be an adult now . 😮😮😮😮😮😮
If Ford is so bad...why does everyone go with Superduty axles.
Not a fan of wearing out tires on purpose.
I was a Ford truck guy until the 5.4 triton debacle... need anyone say more!! When it comes to trucks now, I am a Chevy LS man.😁
Nice Build ! Rudy and Josh can't wait to see her done.
Rudy on two videos of wrecker games it shows you hitting the man with your car and you didnt even get out to see if he was hurt. That was a show of the person you are and we wont watch your videos. God Bless and act better.
A Ford truck from 1975 is definitely rare, Good Luck with the build!
Nice fabrication and welding skills. Keep 'em coming Rudy.
Josh, that's some good welding there!
When I was a kid My dad told me if you want a truck that rides good get Chevrolet, if you want a truck that can work and carry a load get yourself a FORD. Been driving them for 5 decades.
In the early 90s I had a cheery super cab just like the one your working on. A 1975 F250 Super Cab Long bed Camper special 2 wheel drive. It was a great truck !
All manufacturers have their quirks some years are more attractive than others. I’ve always found Chevys to be easier to work on and parts are more interchangeable
Rudy ,dude bro , pal. You do great with your intros to videos but you really need some practice on Outros lol. Thanks for the video guy's.
I am building the same truck. Mine is a 78 12 valve with 2008 super duty in front, and a 2005 Dana 80 in the rear. With all the super duty suspension and a 2007 steering box. It works all together. Here is the video of mine and the steering box mount

1:46 ...."it uses a lot of gas and needs to be reliable" so we need to take the flatbed off and... "lists dozen things that will make it use more gas and be less reliable" and then we will put in enough work and $$ to start a residential GC and build a spec house (diesel engine swap). This is why I watch this channel -- might as well be a mirror.
I'm not "A Ford Guy"... I've had 3 Ford pickups, 1 Ford 9N tractor and 4 Ford Cars over the years. I didn't buy any new trucks but 1 of the cars (Fairmont Wagon) was brand new. Out of all of my Fords the best was the 1948 Ford 8N tractor, it was a solid machine, and is still used regularly by my cousins family after they bought it from me. I had a 77 Ford F350 Super Cab (Camper Special) I bought in 1980 with 59K miles on it. It had a blown 390 and replaced with a 390 out of a wrecked 79 cab and chassis that a had a camper built onto it. I also made it 4x4 with a wrecked set of axles from a later model Ford 4X4. Did a lot of camping/hunting/fishing in those days. I sold it in 1989 to buy my 1st Harley Wide Glide.
How many Chevys have you seen from 1979 drive 500 miles that sat for 2 years OH, AND DON'T FORGET FORD'S THE ONLY ONE THAT HASN'T TOOK A BAIL OUT IN THE AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY
I'm a Ford guy because I'm old and forgetful. The keypad on the doors make sure I'll be able to get in my vehicle even when my dumb ass leaves the keys in it.
It is finally so nice to see somebody that can do an uphill weld. Like your channel Rudy. Hope to see many more videos. Ken.
I was going to comment the same!
I was amazed to FINALLY see someone on UA-cam weld vertical up !!!
I screamed at my phone screen like an old man when he whipped the donuts in the yard, cuz I've seen windows get obliterated with shenanigans like that. 😊😊😊😊
You need a Torch blade for your Saws-All. They call them that because rescuers can use them to cut rebar to get to survivors when a building collapses. I went through a lot of metal-cutting blades until I bought a six-pack of them a couple years ago. Still on that same package! I just used one today to cut the nails that held an electrical box that was nailed to a stud. Quick and easy.
Rudy is a real master. Got a good training with Matt 👍👍👍👍
All my gm garbage motors die at 135000 to 180000 with timely oil changes. All my ford pick up trucks have hundreds of thousands of mile. Best was 93 f 250 straight 6.
nothing that can not be replaced on a old truck and make it a runner....!
Toyota no.1 Ford no.2 any other Japanese brand except Mitsubishi no.3 then Dodge then maybe GM…..
Very nice work Rudy and Josh Great fabrication of the brackets.
i had a 78 bronco and was completly different underneath. Loved that truck 351 winsor, i think its still on the road up in New Hampshire
Josh’s high boy = JOYBOY!!!
I always loved the Ford body, all the way back into the 50's they were just letter looking to me. They also held up better than the Chevy's I was around, dad had a few Dodges when he worked at a dealer that sold them. they were ok just not the look. The 300 six Ford had was a work horse that stomped a lot of v8's, I have seen that engine coupled to a low geared transmission out pull a good sized tractor. So for me Ford is the truck I choose.
Really enjoying this build guys. The edited progress is quite different from most fab projects.
Thanks for sharing
I which I knew how to weld good, I’m at burning holes with a stick level now 😂
My all time favourite Ford....F250 Supercab 4x4 Highboy Supercab of that vintage....and this from a Dodge guy.
Ford power. Nice burn out buddy.
Hey Rudy! Why choose one style 24:35 rear shackle over another? Hanging under or supporting over… just curious
They seem to tow heavy loads better and handling on the road is what I’m after
I love any Ford Chevy or Dodge from the 70s and 80s. Clean straight body and grille!!. BA truck!! Should be very cool!! And get 22mpg!!
Rudy.. appreciate you helping the bros.. some people just learn different... and hes probably good at what he does.. we cant all be the same.. god bless you for helping him get what he wants.. hes a bro right.. thanks man..
I need to ask what's so RARE about a 1975 Ford ?
The super cab style of this truck is what makes it rare, less than 50,000 in this year produced. Versus 380,000 single cab versions of this same year.
Im not partial to brand, everybody makes a POS. My stable containes- 62 powerwagon, 66 mustang, 69 Jeepster Commando, 76 F250 4x4, 89 Wrangler, 91 squarebody suburban, 94 k2500 454, 99 Yukon, 03 Tahoe...
Im a whore. Domestic anyway.
Don't be throwing those old mudflaps away!! I'm from Kansas and I have a old truck that has mudflaps that say Kansas Wheat Country and you can't find them anymore. I'm betting those Wyoming mudflaps are impossible to find also! You need to put them back on the truck after you get it built back up! IMO
Ford: because they didn't take the bailout. They owned up, took bankruptcy, and reestablished their company and are still majority family owned. The other two took the bailout and then sold off to overseas companies and/or killed American workers jobs. Ram leaves Dodge since Dodge is just about defunct, and Ram isn't doing well either (huge amount of unsold trucks killing profits). Chevrolet is fully in with Red-China and Cartel-Mexico. I can't support either. With that said, I drive Toyota, but if I needed a 3/4 or 1-ton, my money would go to Ford (unless I could find a 1-ton dually Toyota U-Haul or 1-ton T100, but still not the same as the full size). I can't support the other two.
If you choose Dodge just for the Cummins engine, well, Cummins is its own, fully independent company not affiliated with Dodge ownership, so put it whatever your hearts desired! Powerstroke was their own company until 2011 when Ford took over; they had rebranded International Engines. Duramax was Isuzu/GM at one point until Isuzu wound their investments in the engine as of May of 2022, leaving Duramax a GM only brand, not Isuzu/GM.
all my fords 1973 390ci 4 spd, 228,500 miles. 1991 300 six 5 spd 276,000. 1999 460 automatic 238,000. and my daily driver now 2011 6.2 liter automatic, 268,000 all 2wd. out did my 4 brothers dodge, chevy's Internationals, nisans, and toyota's less work and repairs. Its a well running joke in my family. MY found on road dead, or fix or repair daily HAS BEEN THE MOST RELIABLE PULLING EVERONE ELSE HOME. But they still will not buy a FORD, the say ive been lucky on all my trucks. but I do get the best engines in each year for my use.
Never heard of that word either... quick google though == “Sperg” is a derogatory term used as a noun or verb to describe a person with Asperger's syndrome or someone who exhibits behaviors associated with the syndrome. As a noun, “sperg” can refer to someone who is awkward, pedantic, or obsessive.
Rudy is the Mad Fabricator! There isn't anything Rudy can't fab! Dude is serious!
Chevy parts r in every junk yard.
I've had Buick, Fords, Subarus, Datsun, Dodge, Chrysler, Chevrolets, Jeep, Pontiac (Judge, but wasn't mine), Volkswagen, International and Plymouth. I most likely missed one or two, but I've had more Fords than all those others combined and with less trouble. I wouldn't call myself a Ford guy, though.
Edit:
spurg
Urban Dictionary:
"A spurg can be wealthy or poor, young or old, homo or hetero, male or female, from any place throughout the world."
That's all I can find. I don't know if it helps.
Just saw the body mounts and frame... I'm so mad at Ford because after spending "thousands" of dollars on my 2004 F150 to replace my blown engine with a factory rebuilt, new muffler, brakes and tires... I find that my frame is rusted so bad it's not going to pass inspection this July!!! NOT HAPPY!!! So if you are going to keep driving Fords.. make sure it's an OLD one. Build in America before the use of Chineesium steel!!!
lol, I was fast forwarding through the welding flashes and it lands on the spot where you guys are talking about the comments talking about Bro being a sperg, and I was laughing like crazy because that might be my comment.
I got a little bit offended by dudes in the comments talking shit about your new bro on the channel and that he is lacking in personality. (Not outgoing enough) and I say NO - that's the perfect wingman, a bit of a sperg, but will never try to steal the show or be an attention whore, and is usually a perfectionist and highly skilled at something.
The term is very common in the IT world where dudes are working with computers more than people, and they develop an Asperger's-like personality that lacks social skills and is non-engaging in social circles - or in front of a camera on a zoom call.
Rudy is super comfy around the camera and so anyone around him has to "catch up" and figure out how they are going to act on camera because it actually takes some practice to "be yourself" in front of a lens.
I enjoy the channel!
I owned a Chrysler, it sucked, I owned a Chevy Silverado...way under powered and almost useless, cracked the frame, it sucked. I owned a Ford F-250 super cab long bed, it had the International diesel engine, put ove 500000 miles and it's still running strong....so in my personal life, I have had better luck with Ford.
I have owned several Fords as well as Chevy's and Dodge's but the Ford has been the best over all truck for the money. Every Chevy I've owned has been a rust bucket as well as a mechanical nightmare. The Dodge trucks have been alittle better but again from transmission issues to motor failure and dashboards falling apart I gave up them as well... My Fords have all been the HD's or Super duty trucks. I currently have a 2011 F-350 SD with a 6.7 Powerstroke that I've Bullet proofed and added a few chip replacements for performance. I got this truck brand new in 2011 and it's the four door, 4x4 King Ranch version and I would not trade for the world... Great ruck, plus it's paid for...
Guess Josh had to buy a Ford since Chevy didn’t make a Corvair truck.
Corvair fanboy talkin smack about a Ford…classic. lol. Keep em coming Rudy
Ford has a good suspension parts joints/bushing but not for GM always replacing them every year here on the REZ roads so Dodge just fits in between this is what I know since working on vehicles from 1987 to this day THAT'S ALL FOLKS
Fords have always been great ---- not quite as good as Chev or GMC but it is so much GREATER than Dodge and Dodge are as low as you can go on the American built TRUCKS ranking
I have a 1979 ford. It’s says f150 on the hood, explorer, ranger on the bed.
4 wheeler drive short box. 351 engine only thing is it is automatic but that’s ok.
It’s my hunting truck.
It was given to my dad from one of is employers back in 1990.
Little TLC and it a great truck.
I am not per se ford person.
We have had all brand vehicles.
As long as it get you from point A to B. It’s a good vehicle
My first car was a Ford, I now drive a Ford. I identify as a truck driver! I drive Chevy's for work. I do not wear bowties tho, my pronouns would be ford/ Man! Trump 2024😂😂😂
And I'm a Ford guy myself. Because it's mainly what I know. My Dad was actually a Chevy guy. I enjoy butting heads with him
I am Mopar lover. I have driven several fords and EVERY last one of them have died on me EVEN a NEW F-450 ambulance with 500 miles blew the trans....
Every manufacturer has had crap models. I’m 57 with a good memory . 5.7 GM diesel. 6.9 ford diesel , obv dodge tranny issues.
I would buy any one of them older than 1994 and do the new Edison motors hybrid upgrade kit and you’ve got a real truck
Brand loyalty is dumb. Ford does axles, Chevy does engines, Dodge did the Viper, which is useless for off road, but it's what Dodge did well.
i always had great luck with fords, NOT like dodge or chevy they kept costing me money to repair. (I AM A FORD GUY!!)
I'm a Ford guy cuz my 2013 F150 has 278k miles and has only ever needed a water pump, just saying!
Because it is Ford. Yes there are reasons Chevy guys hate them but look at these trucks being pulled of old farm and ranches that start and run. Ford,Ford,Chevy,Ford, Ford, Dodge, Ford, Ford.
Where do you get your Dana 60s? Not off a Chevy! Open the door on that Ford and look at the interior, then look at a Chevy from the same time period "JUNK".
Ford guy reasons
1970s Charles Bronson movie about a watermelon farmer. There's a scene from the movie Ford used in its commercial. They ran the truck off of boulders.
Commercial caption was
1 truck 1 take. Ford I beam suspension brat on the road.
Personally I'm more of a Dodge guy because you asked. they're just built better in my opinion. Quick question about the truck you're working on. Were the ovals on the suspension pieces intentional because Ford?
Im a Chevy guy but i like those old Ford truck. My favorite it the Highboy ford they look so cool and heavy duty looking. My next favorite is the 78 body style ford pickup trucks. Not to much into there motor and transmission thow. The 300 six is a beast of a motor thow they will run forever. Best motor Ford made back then.
i well give perspective is fade eith cheap tags tax title fees or just get passed it body on frame build or swap all same bs

I dislike Fords, If you do your own mechanical work, there hard to work on . Its just a bad design all around. The only ford worth owning is a 1956 F100 truck.
I love Ford because I love old Ford from 80's-97. I like how ford looks now days too
Sperg: Dec 17, 2023sperg is a slang term for an Aspergerian, a person with Asperger's syndrome. It is a clipping of Asperger's and derives from the verb to sperg, which means to have a tantrum or fit of rage. I think whoever made the comment was trying to sound smart/smart assed.
I always disliked Ford's for some reason, nothing in particular that I can hang a hat on in my memory why,
I owned a 84' Taurus, bronco II, and a station wagon escort,
All were worth the $500 i spent on them. And I still wouldn't want anything new.
Just don't see the need.
I get it, Cummins are yhe LS of the diesel world and really, they aren't a dodge/chrysler/Fiat product. However, I'd try to get 7.3.
