I've had one for a few days now. The volume from the ear speaker is really low. I can hardly hear my calls. Also I am having an issue where Google Maps doesn't speak the directions unless I fiddle with the Sound settings. The call volume might be a deal breaker.

Thank you. That’s all i wanted to see, a review on the screen. Was hoping it was amoled level. Very cheap to have as a fun phone but I may stick with the A51. lol. I did. Calls? Oh yeah I do call. Lol
I like the idea of this phone as an upgrade. I have the g7 Power. My gripe is the 3gb of ram is closing some apps after switching around. The 720p display because I do UA-cam daily. Also the camera seems meh... My Moto g 4+ had a good camera if you could hold still and manual tweak the shot. But this camera on my g7 Power is not good at all. Low detail at any distance. Terrible low light shots compared to my g4+. Does anyone know how ell this camera performance in low light? No review has a low light test.
Hello "Hello Moto". Read your review of the Moto G on amazon. Looks like a great phone and I see you use Google Fi. That looks good too. Thanks for the honest and thorough review. I will be getting the Moto G as my next phone and probably using with Google Fi. Believe it or not this is my first venture using a broadband phone and network. Been talk and text since the beginning . . . Would love your thoughts about Google Fi as well. Thanks
I really love this phone. But when I go to watch videos in landscape mode the screen dims a little bit. Auto brightness is off. not sure why it's happening. Never occurred with any of my prior phones
I am very happy with my Moto G5 Plus for the past three years and enjoy its 2day + standby time. I got it unlocked refurb that looks like new for $130 three years ago. Same amount of ram and storage. I think I will keep it for 5 more years.
Most people who get flagship phones, have no idea how to use them to full potential, 9 of of 10 people I think would be more that happy with a phone like this, I run my company from a moto g6, but the 12 year old down the street has to have the newest iPhone or Galaxy S?
Love this phone. I bought it for a "burner" phone for vacation since my carrier had no coverage. Might actually swap out my OnePlus 6T. The battery life is incredible and the performance is good enough. If only it had NFC. (Would have paid $20 more)
A while back I commented that my friend has this phone and that I might get it as well and now I was able to get it and I've had it for a couple months and I love it 😊
I enjoyed my Redmi Note 8, had to give it up though since it's not fully supported by T-Mobile. I bought the G Power to replace it, it's a win. I keep returning to Motorola, I had the E4, E5 Plus, and the G7 Power.
just got this phone today with knowing absolutely nothing about it. just got based off of price. so far i am pretty happy and its nice to hear how its actually a good phone
Im thinking about getting it but im consider with 2 things How heavy it is and Does it have a blue-ish tint to the overall screen to it. I seen a couple of videos where the whites are not entirely white but blue-ish and just bothers me a bit. If you can help me with this itd be very much appreciated For the record i do think this phone is good but im just wondering about these 2 things
I like this phone but the international version (Motorola G8 Power) comes with an extra camera, a 2X optical zoom. To me, that would be the perfect phone if it also came with OIS. My next closest bet would be the Motorola One Zoom but it cost more.
I finally ordered a phone very similar to this one. It's the Redmi Note 9S (6GB/128GB). It would be interesting to compare the two because they are so similar in features and price.
Im on the fence on this phone because of the blue-ish tint it has on the screen (i dont really see it on this video) but thats kinda whats stopping me. Any who has this phone does it or does it not have this tint
I just bought it, after I watched this video and the price for $149, good phone for a backup also, thanks for the heads-up on the price, I love a deal! 👍👍
I know a lot of people who have $600-$1500 phones that use them for: Texting, calls, facebook, twitter, instagram, youtube, some light gaming (candy crush, clash of clans, etc) web browsing/online shopping, taking dumb pictures that don't matter and aren't winning awards or making them money, and... that's it. They don't need an expensive phone to do those things, and to make it worse they run out every year or every other year and buy a new one when the old one works perfectly fine and for that much money it damn well should. Don't even get me started on some of the overpriced plans people pay for. This looks like a good upgrade from my 5 year old moto which still works but is noticeably slow now.
Think I'm 'bout to leave my iPhone 8 Plus for this. I work a job in which I provide tech support for students and staff, in addition to other responsibilities. This year I kind of experimented with the 'ecosystem'. Got an 8 Plus for a descent price, an Apple Watch 3 on sale, and a used MacBook Air. I've been a Windows / Android user for years, and I have to say after trying the Apple "ecosystem" for over 6 months, I really don't see the big deal. You can get far more powerful and customizable Windows machines for much cheaper than MacBooks, and phones like this in many ways are just as good if not better than much more expensive phones, like iPhones. Currently this phone is just $180 unlocked. One of the things that drives me crazy about iPhones is that they won't background download or upload for apps like Spotify, Google Photos, Plex etc. You have to leave the app open for that to happen. No Android phones has that issue. And the Apple Watch, while nice, just doesn't add that much to my life. So, yeah I think I'm going back to Windows / Android. But I definitely am in a much better position now to assist people regardless of which OS they have on their device.
Both the Moto G7 and G7 Power share a similar design aesthetic, with the main difference being the cutout at the top of the display. ... The G7 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as standard, and the G7 Power has a more modest 3GB/32GB configuration.Mar 6, 2020 same processor too
Only thing I hate about phone is google movies when pinch to zoom, picture stops at camera hole instead of edge, but if watch from youtube it will go to edge..strange
Purchased this phone unlocked at the time of this post little over year after release. Previous phone HTC 10 that the battery crapped out on, and the GPS is failing. I wish more phone manufactures would offer phones the same dimensions as the HTC 10. I would do iPhone SE but I refuse proprietary connections. I also refuse to pay over 1k for a flagship phone (no the se is not flagship). I need a small phone to make and receive phone calls send text and email. It is nice if I can capture decent photos of hardware when I'm documenting a problem. I wanted a phone with an aluminum back.. but that seems to be long gone. I wish it were shorter more like the HTC 10... anybody remember when having the smallest cell phone was cool? Yeah I sill have my old startac flip phones... all of them from analog only all the way up to analog and digital..

It's nothing else to talk about he talk about everything you can possibly think about the pixel lol
A while back I commented that my friend has this phone and that I might get it as well and now I was able to get it and I've had it for a couple months and I love it 😊
Very informative video Jay I love it and keep up the good work you are doing 💪
Great vid J, thanks
I enjoyed my Redmi Note 8, had to give it up though since it's not fully supported by T-Mobile. I bought the G Power to replace it, it's a win. I keep returning to Motorola, I had the E4, E5 Plus, and the G7 Power.
I want to add to this: the stereo speakers were one of things I miss about the 2020 g power.
Best audio at any price out of a cell phone
Does this have an led notification light?
No
@@michael2k3d48 thanks
@@michael2k3d48 how u enable that proximity sensor.. mines doesn't blink ?
Real world that's why I watch your videos!!!!!
Tcl sounds nice, but only offer gsm. No cdma for verizon and sprint users. There are a TON of people in the U.S. who are on Verizon.
Can someone tell me how to get the navigation buttons back on the Moto g power thanks
Settings > System > Gestures
Swipe left or right starting at the outer edge of the phone. Took me awhile to figure this out
can i ask what you use for the bottom navigation buttons? the apps i have tried say they don't work for android 10
Settings, system, gestures
@@brandoncox5044 Thanks! Do you know what is making the orange LED light blink on his phone? Bluetooth/Wifi/etc?
What case is that
does google fi support 5g data plant.
just got this phone today with knowing absolutely nothing about it. just got based off of price. so far i am pretty happy and its nice to hear how its actually a good phone
Im thinking about getting it but im consider with 2 things
How heavy it is and Does it have a blue-ish tint to the overall screen to it.
I seen a couple of videos where the whites are not entirely white but blue-ish and just bothers me a bit.
If you can help me with this itd be very much appreciated
For the record i do think this phone is good but im just wondering about these 2 things
Can u do a video on how to enable that proximity light flashing.. because a lot of our moto g powers doesn't do that out the box.. ?
I like this phone but the international version (Motorola G8 Power) comes with an extra camera, a 2X optical zoom. To me, that would be the perfect phone if it also came with OIS. My next closest bet would be the Motorola One Zoom but it cost more.
I finally ordered a phone very similar to this one. It's the Redmi Note 9S (6GB/128GB). It would be interesting to compare the two because they are so similar in features and price.
Thanks J - just grabbed one brand new £170!
I'm from the UK, do you mind sharing where you got it from?
Im on the fence on this phone because of the blue-ish tint it has on the screen (i dont really see it on this video) but thats kinda whats stopping me.
Any who has this phone does it or does it not have this tint
I just bought it, after I watched this video and the price for $149, good phone for a backup also, thanks for the heads-up on the price, I love a deal! 👍👍
Where was it $149? Used?
@@beekarinsaan Google fi had it on sale new for a limited time for $149
Great review. I probably buy this J.
Good review. Glad they killed the breakable glass back which I didn't see the point of because most people use a case these days.
It looks like a solid phone and a good value. I think the Umidigi Power 3 seems to be a solid phone with a large battery too.
Both the Moto G7 and G7 Power share a similar design aesthetic, with the main difference being the cutout at the top of the display. ... The G7 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage as standard, and the G7 Power has a more modest 3GB/32GB configuration.Mar 6, 2020 same processor too
Thank you man....
Only thing I hate about phone is google movies when pinch to zoom, picture stops at camera hole instead of edge, but if watch from youtube it will go to edge..strange
I got this phone 2 days ago and it performs like a beast it actually got better frames then my gaming phone 🤷
Can you listen to music on youtube with this phone off in your pocket walking long distance without it pressing random buttons?
Why not the G8 power?
Does anyone know how to get the 3 icons on the bottom of the screen to show up on my phone - the one where the left arrow is? Thanks!
Go to Settings, type in “nav” tap System Navigation, enable 3 button navigation
@@abunchahooey Thank you so much!
Where did you get it for $200 or less? Lowest price I could find was $250. Thanks.
Probably google fi, they have a deal for $200 with activation... Even less with a trade-in. Bestbuy has it for $200 with activation as well
It can depend on your carrier. If you use sprint & buy @ best buy it's currently $199
I'll be getting mine on Monday. I paid less than $200.00. I hope I made a good decision.
Nicely done
