Don't know how this video got recommended. But I'm glad it did. I can always appreciate a good looking passion project. Wishlisted, you got me interested.
Really cool stuff. What if when an enemy is disarmed, you can grab and use them as meat shield? And you can can throw them unto other enemies to stun them? Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work.
@@tsitski Appending to this suggestion: Give the player a few seconds while the enemy is "dazed", but after that, they just punch. This will keep it from being overly abused. Good luck!
This is honestly one of the coolest indie projects I've seen in a while, also it's funny to be how you're younger than me but already moving fast in life lol
Wishlisted! Thanks for the update. By the way watch out for scam publishers that just take % cut and don't really do anything, there's a lot of them out there
That publisher feedback is really useful. Sometimes you hear nothing back at all or just get an email saying it is 'unsuitable at this time'. The most terrifying part of the video is that you call these 'retro graphics' some of the textures are low res but this looks like a modern P.C game to me, retro graphics ended with the PS1 in my mind. I guess if you have just left school you think Skyrim is a old game that makes me feel ancient. You have lots of particle effects, moving shadows etc. and it runs fast it reminds me of Battlebit. An old system would not cope with this. I think it is a good idea to have a free demo even if it is just the tutorial section and a few enemies if you are a new developer. Remember old people play too so make sure your UI is scalable with no tiny writing and has good contrast. I am not sure about gold on orange, use black outlines on a neutral background at least but multi colour is better. (I look for colours of ammo as well as shapes) For some reason inventory boxes are often tiny because developers use big monitors and sit close to them - Remember steam decks, old monitors and T.Vs too as well as people with bad eyes! I don't know what explosives you have but one weapon I enjoy but rarely see in FPS games is the remote detonated pipebomb like Duke Nukem 3D (Drop one or several bombs, use detonator remotely) that would fit well with your gore system. Landmines are fun too. I will Wishlist your game (btw UA-cam thinks this is Rust you should update that you can link your own now). One final thing: That valve is for water I would never think to attach it to a gate unless the gate is obviously hydraulically operated, maybe change it to a winch wheel that attaches to a hanging chain or rope or an electric switch.
Yo, I have a few questions I'd like to ask you. 1. What will the modding support look like? Will you use the steam workshop or just use something like gamebanana? 2. Just curious, why not let disarmed enemies kick or punch you, like combine soldiers if you got too close to them? thats all :)
getting crazy modding support where the entire game could be changed would be great, though I haven't looked into any of that just yet also that's a great idea. It definetly doesn't make sense for them to just sit around
i am all in for this era of games that are inspired by aspects of the Half life games (i mean it in a good way) love the series and i am so sad we only got retro shooters in the doom style ( i don't hate them but come on. where our Half like games)
Are you planning on a Itch or GOG release? I prefer buying my games on those platforms because they don't promote DRM, allow for easy archival, and also allows for actual ownership. Itch offers great revenue splits as well (Down to 0%) with people who purchase through Itch being able to get a steam key for convenience. The game is looking great so far, keep up the good work! (☆`• ω •´)b
We will watch your career with great interest
Ayyy great devlog. Actually been desperately waiting for a new episode. Wishlisted!

holy shit i didnt even know you were in highschool during the development! can’t wait for more updates!
hopefully I'll make more updates soon, and more consistently lol
this is prob one of the most under rated devs ive seen in a while.
Man doesnt just make dev logs. Hes actually releasing it and almost got it published.

Your game looks soo good! I really like the gameplay mechanics and the level design, I feel like you can get very far with this!
as a fellow upcoming C# indie dev, I love how you put // before "description" and "about" lol

that sounds super fun, maybe I'll add something like that when i add augments, like a "strength" augment or something like that :]

I'm not into FPS but I will like, share, and comment. Wishing you success.
thanks :)
100% buying this when it comes out on steam.
Looks like a good time.

I love the diving thing. Any kind of quick movement is cool in fps
Wishlisted! Thanks for the update. By the way watch out for scam publishers that just take % cut and don't really do anything, there's a lot of them out there
"You can now act out your favorite John--" AGAIN, I WILL BE BUYING DAY FUCKING ONE
Wishlisted!
Congrats, wishlisted of course :)
You make game dev feel realistic and achievable
My man over there going from high school to game publisher in 4 months, that's impressive! Congrats!
This is looking awesome
Wicked stuff!
looks like a trepanglike
it's definitely got some similarities, I'm super inspired by fear which i think trepang is too

thank you for the feedback!! these are legit all great ideas, I'll definetly add all of these to the change list

this looks wicked fucking cool, immediately wishlisting, would like the vid but its at 69 rn [nice.]
you should add a feature where you arm an explosive and put it in an enemy's pocket like in fallout
What if the enemies would punch you when they had no weapons, and some would get scared, and some would stand still scared
What if helmet eyes turned orange when they where infected
Inspiring

Yeah, I don't see why not :) I'll probably look into that after the steam release, the 0% revenue share sounds pretty sweet
that puzzle would piss me off if you didnt tell me ^.^
Sorry to ask again, but are you still planning on implementing a female player option?
yeah I think it'd be cool, one day...
Add timbs
like the shoe?
yes@@tsitski
I'll have to think on it
ok@@tsitski
