I hope you enjoyed this video of my hike up the Narrows! This isn't an in-depth hiking guide video. Hiking the Narrows is pretty straight forward though and lots of fun! There is a reason why this is one of the most hiked trails in Zion!
I hiked from the Temple of Sinawava to Wall Street in The Narrows. I went up about 3 miles and turned around. The last time I hiked the Narrows was probably in 2008, so I didn't really remember too much about it.
The best time to hike The Narrows is in the morning. Some people like the afternoon because the canyon could be warmer, but it's better to plan for a long day in The Narrows and have plenty of time to hike out and still make the shuttles back down canyon! (check the shuttle schedule!)
This is a great hike, but can be dangerous. I recommend you have a walking stick and shoes with good grip. Do not just wear sandals or go barefoot. You will be hiking through the river for much of the hike and the possibility of injury only increases if you don't have proper footwear. Take your time, go slow, and be sure in your footing.
(Note: My "water shoes" are actually made for canyoneering through water. They aren't just a $5 pair of water shoes I bought at Walmart and I would highly advise getting those for The Narrows. You can rent canyoneering shoes at many of the local vendors and even walking sticks too.)
Make sure to check the weather and check with the Park Service for any flash flood warnings before making plans to hike The Narrows or any other slot canyon.
Be prepared with plenty of water and food and make sure you back out your wrappers and trash with you. Carry a few bags just in case you need to go #2 because you have to pack out your waste too.

I’ve actually never hiked the narrows from the bottom up. From the top down lots of times but never more than a mile from the bottom up. Weird.

Are you in St. George? I'm in Ivins, and just watched the Gunlock video, and some other recent ones. I love watching all of the ancient history stuff. Thanks. Subbed.
