Haters criticising Aman for losing in Olympiad is bullshit. Many great teams in other sports have lost numerous times to the minnows. That can happen in Chess too. He's a GM. Loves the sport, gives his all to promote it. The least you could do is- give this man some respect!

CM Rijendra Rajbhandari , the 1937 guy, who beat Aman, is not a bad player. He has +8 -4 = 1 at Chess Olympiad. In 2014 he beat GM Bazar Khatanbaatar. He is probably not a professional chess player and has only a few chances to improve his rating, because he lives in Nepal. Sometimes a Yeti beats a Canadian bear :D.
He lost to two 2000 rated players the month before this.
He played well this tournament but Aman didn't.
There's still 6 rounds left, more than enough time for Aman to pick up his socks and get back into this event.
Dude, there is no excuse for what happened. It's probably psychological. GMs playing weak random players relax and don't play their best. And here comes the punishment if you relax too much.

I don't think it was relaxing at all, Dennis. He later lost to another GM, so I'm willing to believe he was simply outplayed. I've heard people say that CM Rijendra Rajbhandari is a much better player than his rating suggests, and thus far in the olympiad he's +3 =1 -0. I'm very much willing to believe that Aman's loss was not at all psychological.

A few days ago,I believe it was around 4 but my memory is a bit foggy, I was jogging down the main road not too far from my house. I was 2.7 miles into my jog, about half way. After running for so long, my legs became very tired. I had only packed 1 water bottle so I had to conserve it. There was a little post with a roof over it with a map of the city in which i stood under for a break. I massaged my calfs and drank as little water as i could without getting dehydrated. At the time I was going down a different route than normal, so I checked the map to see where i was going. I saw the road that leads to my house many blocks down, so I decided to jog in that direction just in case I got dehydrated and needed to go home. I turned to put my water away and start running once again, but I noticed something. Right on the map of the road my house is on, there was a purple hair. At first i thought nothing it, but I have never seen someone with purple hair before so it was weird. There was a beauty school right next to the stop though so I assumed it was a students hair and continued with my jog. It weirded me out that the hair was right where my house was and nowhere else, but it wasn’t that much a coincidence. At around 4.1 miles into my jog,I was very close to my house, just a couple blocks down, I knew how to get there without my phone or a map. At the time I had barely any water left, so i was heading straight home. A few blocks down i was approaching my house, right before it happened. A man in a black hoodie pushed me to the ground and stole the little water i had left, I got up and saw him running while pouring the water out. All i saw was a logo on the back of his hoodie that looked like a knight from chess. I was pissed off and went inside to get a nice cold bottle of water. Later on I was playing online chess and came across a video by the chess brahs. I forgot exactly what the video called but immediately I saw their hoodie, and on the back i recognized the knight. It was the exact same hoodie that the guy who robbed me of my water was wearing. Soon after Aman came into frame, he had purple hair, just like the hair I found on the map. I still don't understand why the hair was there, but all I know is don't support these guys.

Last week, I was a 1900 in an olympiad. I was minding my own business when Aman came up and demanded to play me. Worried that I'd be late for my game but not wanting to disappoint my hero, I said sure, let's do a quick 5 minute blitz. Aman set the clock to 5:00 and started the timer. Little did I know, it was a 5 HOUR timer, and when the "blitz match" finally concluded, I had missed my scheduled game and Aman was chuckling maniacally after taking 4 hours and 20 minutes to play the dreaded 2.Ke2. Claiming to be a good sport, he immediately resigned the game, wiped the pieces off the table, and threw the board in my face. Don't support these guys.

Around 11:50 Nf7 comes with double check against the king and a fork with the king and queen and I know you didn't sac that much material just to get it all back and weaken your attack but I still think that's best

Playing against a 900 on website... then looses to a 1900 in a game representing the country. I ask if there is players in Canada that would really take seriously the opportunity of represent the country. No hate. Just saying
There were so many upsets that round, everyone was tired and jetlagged. Li Chao lost to a 2100, caruana drew a 2400, etc. Everyone is nervous, and getting in the groove. Lots of chess to be played, go Canada!
@@sethmachakos9926 1900 is also not really his true ability he was much better, he has also played some really good stuff in there too, GMs don't have magic powers that give free wins vs non GMs they lose games too
