Michele, what a fantastic tutorial on journal making! I am always so happy when I see a new video of yours. Your ideas are brilliant and inspiring. Loved hearing you share your memories of your lovely mom. Thank you for continuing to make videos even through your home and studio aren't complete. What a champion you are!
I too love the soft spine. I have never seen a soft spine with a hard cover. I love this idea. Have to make me one now. Thanks so much for the inspiration. ❤
I am a messy crafter however when I am finished for the day I have to straighten up so as not to come back in to chaos. I get overwhelmed with walking into my space and it in disarray, as the next day I may want to work on something totally different. You always create the nicest things!😊 I use the art glitter glue all the time but one tip I will pass to you is do not leave the top off for too long or put a stainless steel straight pin in it so it doesn’t get gunked up while you are using it. I love it! It holds very well but it is on a pricier side.
Great ideas! I switched from using scissors ✂️ to a bone folder to separate the book pages from the spine when removing the guts...just insert into the cover spine then twist the bone folder as you move down thru the pages. So far No damage to the original spine! Thanks for sharing
i consider myself having exactly the same craft set mind as yours with regard to this video, love the mess and the unexpectedness, just get carried away with dozens of different things at one time, do my own head in sometimes.....xxx😀😀😀😀😀😀
Thank you for dealing with the issue with the sound your desk made. I am sorry to say that I had stopped watching you because of it. I will be back now. Fabulous covers. Love the collage. Blessings
people walk into my lounge/workroom and just stop and stare at the chaos, the words are...omg barb 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 when I was working, my desk was so tidy.......................now eternal havoc
Very beautiful! 🥰 I have a really large craft table and somehow I cover it in scraps and am always working in a tiny pocket of space and crawling on the floor using my cutting mat. I have no idea how that happens but when you are in a good creative rhythm who has time to clean. I am learning to accept that. :)
Always love me a CreativeCove video! 😂 many thanks, Michelle, for keeping me company with your soothing voice, relaxed approach, good humor, and messy desk! It is so good to know that others work in this disorder and chaos! Funny how we do seem to know where everything is, kind-of-sort-of!😂😂 haha! Much Aloha to you lovely, talented lady!!🌺💖✨️🙋♀️
I think the blankets helped with the microphone. Love the covers. I will try my cutter like that the next time I need to cut a cover because my little exacto type knife took forever. I hope you have a delightful day.
Just found you and absolutely enjoying your content and way of instructing and inspiring. Canadian born I am so happy to see a Canadian artist! I came from the Gaspe.
New to your channel and loving every minute. I am also a messy creator so you speak my language. Although I do drive myself nuts with a smaller & smaller workspace😂
I'm an explosive creator. Especially when I'm in the zone. I'm glad you posted this. I have at least 10 books just waiting to be used for this but I was afraid to start.
Yes, it’s called a master board. Don’t feel bad. The brain fog hits me hard too sometimes 😅 I love that someone else is as messy as I am 😂 crafting is my time to be as messy as I want because I’m normally very organized, anal-retentive, borderline OCD. With that said, I always have to clean and reorganize when I’m done for the day. I know my roommate appreciates it 🤣🤪 I haven’t done this with books yet but I want to. I have a bunch of old books in storage I need to dig out. Thanks for sharing your process 💟📚🎨
Love hese, a great way to use the amazing scraps! I call it organised chaos, even though my desk looks like a mess, I know where everything is lol.. Thank you so much for sharing, take care x
I love the look of the covers you showed. Especially book page that shows around the edges. And I love how a little bit of the colored book shows at edges. It's funny how some of us get in the mood for a certain thing. And 3 months later, we want something else! *** QUESTION: Why didn't you use the original spine that's already on the book cover? (On 1st journal). I saw you did on the 2nd one. I didn't know you could cut a book cover down to a smaller size. Great info!! Thanks!! Austin TX USA
I'm a messy and unorganized crafter too 🤩 very happy to see your desk, familiar 😄! I love watching your videos and listening to your calm and warm voice. Beautiful covers, great idea to prepare some for later use!

Your desk is definitely less drum like with the blankets. Thank you 🙏
I enjoyed watching you do these little journal covers - hope you show more of these! ❤
I love the way you can put anything together and it looks good, that is a nice talent to have. Thanks for sharing. Friend from North Georgia Mountains

I like the tearing and glueing too. I am also in Texas :)))
I call it organized chaos, you are not alone, my desk always looks like a bomb went off haha. ..l just love your videos !!

I love gluing scraps of paper, I have wondered why? I think it calms my nerves, fills my soul and organizes my mind.

Enjoyed video. Your journal covers are beautiful and inviting. You made it look easy. Thank you for sharing.
Very inspiring. I’m off to cut a book cover in half to make two small journal covers. 💖

It's very beautiful as usual. With Art Glitter Glue (AGG), less is more. And your only gluing paper does not need as much as other glue.
“You know you’re havin fun when the scraps are in your face” 🎉😂❣️
And…the desk is so much better!

Love this type of creativity: messy but great and intuitive. 🍀💖 Machteld
Thank you! 😊

Ok I’m coming over to help clean your desk lol
I think we had the same mom
Great video Thank you!

Great video and I like a good mess😂

That messy table is exactly like mine! My mom was the same as yours. This is so me.
Great idea to make the covers ahead of time keeping everything neutral so you can tailor it later.
You inspire me
Art glitter glue is awesome way stronger than glue stick and really grabs quickly

Love this video . Thank you. Could you possibly share the process of how you would upload & list your own self created digital kits on Etsy please 🙏 ❤
😊
Very inspiring! Can't wait to try some myself! THANKS!!

Hi fellow Texan! 🙋🏻♀️ I’m in D/FW
Also, I would like to know the answer to your question as well. 🤔
@@alenammetz I didn't know you were in Texas!! I knew I liked you!! LOL!
I asked a question in my comment. If you could answer. Thanks.
@@alenammetz I asked that again
That’s what my desk looks like when I’m most creative.
Your messiness drives me crazy! How can you function? And also, you are a fantastic artist! I want to be you when I grow up. 🙂
You always amaze me!!!!
Great tute! What glue stick do you use? When I use one with paper and a cover…it will lift off once it’s really dry.
my desk mirrors yours...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did you create the digital prints on an art program, or is this your art that you scanned and printed? I love these covers.
Has the cover held up just using a book page to reinforce the new spine inside and outside? Just curious
not sure if I'm losing the plot but are you Patti...............😊😊😊😊😊
Master board I call them motherboards lol
Did she just cut a book in half with a paper trimmer
That’s what I was thinking!!
The background is distracting, otherwise I liked the method.
Why ruin a completely good book???
