Omega! Everyone's favorite agile, technology focused, crazy brand. So what does this Olympian brand have up it's sleeve? Well...many things. One of them we didn't know existed when we filmed this live (sorry Omega x Swatch Speedmaster). However, we are looking at the new Aqua Terra's (Michael's favorite), a solid gold Moonwatch, and a solid green Seamaster!

Irony: People complain that they can't get watches in new colorways/configs. When that gets delivered, they complain they are "following hype" and "copying" other brands, even when they are completely different treatments. Then, the collective has the balls to say "nothing new ever comes out!" Here in 2022, everyone's a crybaby.
Yeah all these tiffany dial watches coming out are definitely complying to the consumer need and not the hype / copy pasta of a successor.

One thing to note with the new Aqua Terras as well -- these sunburst/plain colored dials are actually a throwback to the OG 2007 Aqua Terras when they were also 36mm, pre teak deck dials.
From not liking the Speedy for yourself, to wanting the Gold 42mm!!!! Finally!!!!!!! I really hope you get it Christian, you do deserve it.
Omega have created a lot of brand awareness this week and if just 1% of Rolex OP buyers check out the new AT range it will be mission accomplished for Omega.
More likely it will lead to Speedmaster sales. People were lining up at Omega boutiques to check out the real thing. 2 hour lines at some Omega boutiques.
Well, they got me. I just grabbed an Aqua Terra (tan leather strap, orange seconds hand) and I love it. Great everyday option along with my Speedmaster (Hesalite) and Seamaster 300. Now I may still get one of the Rolex's I'm on the waitlist for, but I'm not holding my breath for the call. Plus I just placed an order for the Seamaster with that awesome green dial. My local AD was also at that Miami event, and he called me at 2:00am to say I "had" to get one.
Man the AT's are so pretty. Got mine last week (blue dial with horizontal lines) and I am in love.
YES. Finally someone says there needs to be a 38/40mm Seamaster Professional. Make it happen Christian, you have Omegas ear.
Omega is the reason Tudor couldn't stand on its own without Rolex.
Now look at Tudor, Still little brother too Rolex but certainly has it's own identity now. In my opinion Tudor is outdoing Omega for the past 3 years and will continue to do so as long as omega keeps making homage to rolex watches and plastic toys.
@@FayeClegg Wait what?! Almost the entire Tudor lineup is a direct copy of Rolex but with an ugly "snowflake" hand. I'd rather they charge you like they would a plastic toy instead of charging thousands for what seems like a VW to Rolex's Audi. Tudor will never aspire to beat or compete with Rolex in any category. Fit and finishing will always be sub par to Rolex with purposeful intent on making it an inferior brand. Omega is not on Rolex's tier either but at least they can and will make Rolex bleed.

Grabbing the 38mm white Aqua Terra soon. Love the new colours but they took away the teak lines which gave it so much personality!
Also, imagine if they released a 38mm Seamaster diver alongside the 42. Hooooooly shit. I'd buy every single colour.

The problem with these ATs is the date window placement....moving toward the middle of the dial due to the movement being too small for the case. :( Further, in order to differentiate themselves from Rolex, they also locked themselves out of the goldilocks dress watch size (for most, I suspect) of 36mm. :(. Now, the moonshine gold speedy? SOLD! For less than the price of a grey market steel Daytona, snag the moonshine gold speedy on a strap and go home with change!
I don't think anybody who sees a person wearing an Aqua Terra would confuse it for a colored OP.

@@lonewolfemcquade8133 Cool name! Just personally, during the significant part of my life that I was (am?) a person who knows little about watches I wouldn't have known what an OP was. I would have known what a Rolex was. There are so many colored dials in the world that I don't think anybody who sees a red dial (especially sunburst) from a distance is going to automatically think OP. I know that if I owned a red OP and then bought a red AT without telling my non-watch-appreciating wife, she would know the difference and I would be dead in minutes just like those horse thieves who were picking on those Texas troopers in front of Chuck Norris.
The reason no one will confuse the OP with an AT is because the Rolex guy mentions it every 5 minutes🤣🤣🤣

I can't get into bright colored dials. Just like white, black and dark blue. The only bright colored watch I go for is a Doxa Sharkhunter 300 orange 🍊 dial.

Have you seen some of the new watches Citizen is launching this year, there is a blue dial eco drive with Japanese paper used for the dial which looks absolutley stunning. Would be nice to see more content on brands such as Citizen, they make some really great well made watches and their higher end offerings give some refreshing perspective to more expensive watches. The usual suspects from Switzerland frankly with all the hype and coverage are getting a bit boring especially when everyone and their uncle seems to be wearing them!
I will say though, at least Omega and Swatch have decided to stirr the pot up with the Swatch speedmaster.
Its pissing off a lot of people and I love that, perhaps they are scared their image of success will be tarnished, I certainly hope so!
For all that will come tomorrow for me a Swatch co branded Omega with a high tech ceramic bio plastic case is far more interesting than anything Rolex will bring out and in a few weeks when the hype has died down I will at least be able to walk into my local swatch boutique and buy one, can´t say the same for Rolex!

I just want to comment that most people compare the Aqua Terra to the Datejust and rightfully so but the truth is they are very different watches. The AT is change now to compete more with the DJ but prior it should have been compared to the Yatch Master. Both are watches design with the idea of topside boating (not diving) while obviously have a strong connection to the sea. The previous design spoke to this highly with the teak deck dial but now is moving away from that design.
I so so so wish they'd bring back the midsize Seamaster. They'd sell literally 10s of watches!

Love the seamaster but hate the helim escape valve. Make it integrated like the Tudor Pelegos which costs half the price.
Tudor Pelagos on bracelet is 4725, the Seamaster 300M on bracelet is 5400. So, yeah less, but nowhere near half the price. In any event, the helium escape valve is a design choice. Some love it some don't care, some hate it. One thing though , when someone sees it, no doubt its an Omega.
Do you know if Omega still keep the AR coating on the top side of the crystal? That’s the one thing keeping me from getting an AT
Why? That AR is pretty hard, didn’t scratch mine in over 8 months of use
@@diavalus interesting, a friend of mine has a 300M and the AR coating has developed a lot of micro scratches which would drive me nuts. But maybe Omega has improved the coating. Glad to hear that this is no issue on your watch!

I really, really like Omega. I own an Omega. But I just can't Love them. They just fall short on every one of their watch releases and it's purely proportional. I wish they would just shift the proportions slightly and that would propel them to the next level.
I have a Seamster 300 Professional and have been lusting after an AT. Multiple trips to the Rolex AD to opine for an OP or Date Just and have been rebuked every time. Maybe when the gray market crashes then a Rolex will be worth it. Guess I'll be an Omega fan boy forever.

No micro adjustment is a disgrace at this price point. That being said, i LOVE Omega
One of the things that held me back from an Aqua Terra in the past was the bracelet. Like Grand Seiko it was the (sorry) weak link. Just got a 41 white dial with a tan leather strap and the orange seconds hand. The new AQ's are a little small for me, but that Seamaster in green looks like another must-have.
Omega managed to make a date look terrible, that's impressive
Sadly, the 34mm Aqua Terra has subtle differences in the indices and color scheme that make the watch look more like they are positioned as a "ladies watch." I am hoping that they'll make a straight scaled down version of their bigger models someday, like Rolex 34mm watches.
That red dial Aqua Terra looks fantastic! Just wish it was available in the 41mm case size also.
The 34mm are a very different style, which seems strange to me. Are they meant to be a women’s AT? Also the 34mm are different colors than the 38.
The 34mm is more targeted at females and the 38mm is more unisex. There is nothing stopping a man wearing a 34mm if you like the colors and like a smaller watch but Omega chose those colors in the 34mm to appeal to woman.

I don't think so I think they come with the butterfly clasp like they usually do which doesn't have a micro adjustment

People often want what others cannot easily get and once everybody has it they don’t want it any more.
No idea why everyone compares watches to Rolex. They are literally the best at nothing except marketing.

Not 1 word of criticism during this whole video! Basically just marketing for omega. Don’t get me wrong i love omega! The reason people say they copied Rolex is bc they literally used the the same color ways Rolex did on their models that are the omega alternative to the Rolex.
Ignore the branding and just look at the watches and feel them and you will conclude that Omega is at least as good as Rolex. People have tied their ego to the brand and believe the marketing BS. You are probably one of those people that have your ego tied to your possessions and you probably don't realize most people don't care. You could wear a Rolex Omega Cartier and most people could care less and most wouldn't even know the difference. You probably don't even realize what a tool you are coming across as.
A fantastic alternative at a fraction of the price is the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander in 39mm

I find the new AT uninspired and overpriced. The beautiful design was at its pinnacle with the 8500 series and has now been watered down and the result is something quite generic. At these prices, the date window absolutely should have been matched to the color of the dial. And if you don't like the striped dials (vertical or horizontal), the first gen 2500 AT is a better looking watch than these latest ones and is widely available pre-owned.
I think this Seamaster strap and buckle are too narrow.

All the release are just too similar. Is a beg imho & lacks integrity and originality. I’ve never had much time (no pun intended!) for the brand, and this doesn’t help my feels. Just one man’s opinion though…! The lads work with the brand, & I feel you can tell when they talk about them 🤷♂️
