I hope this guy realizes that, despite his relationship with his parents, that you don't get good grades solely to avoid getting in trouble. You get good grades because it will provide you with a lifetime of rewards in the future.

When I was in elementary school, (in 3rd through 4th or 5th grade), I was falling behind on a couple school subjects, and I needed some extra help, so that's the reason why my parents signed me up for after school tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in order to get the extra help I needed, and get caught up on my school work.
