I am one of those who feels past her prime and in a fashion rut. I just wear black slacks with Rock Band T-shirts thinking that will give me a little "youth cred", lol. But I just turned 61 and I even though money is tight and I don't leave the house often I am interested in getting at least 2 nice updated outfits. Thank you for the great fashion tips.
Thanks so much for sharing and I know you are not alone with your thoughts. Enjoy the youthful vibe and confidence boost you will probably find with your new outfits!
I would ditch the Tahiti (of any kind), and get a few sets of matching capris and tops. Walmart has cute floral tops (sometimes), and I get lots of compliments. Shop early in the season for the best selection. Printed and floral tops, IMO are youthful and lift my mood. Even though we're older, we can still like fashion. And self-care is important. Embrace your age, dress as if you care and you'll feel younger and better. JMO
during covid I found your channel. I was isolated and lonely. I had been a thin woman most of my life but had a forty pound weight gain due to having to take steroids for a medical problem. i had many hours in a day to reflect on being 58 and the skin, weight, and hair changes were glaringly obvious. You gave me inspiration and down right hope! I changed some things using your tips. I feel so much better. Thanks! i
You just made my day! Thank you for such a lovely comment. I'm so glad to give you inspiration and hope. Keep on feeling great about the amazing woman you are and I truly hope your health improves soon
Heather you really rocked the updated looks. Thanks for showing us how we can change our outfits to make them more fashionable. Loved the updated shoes you showed. Many blessings and kindness, Teresa
Thank you so much for demonstrating that women can look fabulous at any age. Our culture is so youth oriented that it’s easy for mature women to feel like we’re almost invisible. But I’m determined to be the best version of myself at 63. It helps to try to eat healthy and get some exercise. That can do so much to lift your mood and your self esteem.
Love the tips and your just what I needed to hear. Dont let anyone tell you that you're over my prime. Just ended a 10 year relationship and tired of being made to feel less than the next best thing. Ready for my next stage.
This was a great video. I try very hard to stay out of the style rut but often wonder if the pieces I like are too young for me. I’m turning 60 next week and certainly don’t want to look like I am trying to be young again. Loved the blue dress!
Haha!it tickles me that the straw hat cost more than the crocs sandals! Glad that you pointed out the reason behind the madness regarding the black and white clothes! Especially after telling us to add some color into our lives! 😅 anyway, happy st paddies day and great video Heather! 💚☘️💚😁😉😘
Hi Heather, Thank you for your wonderful channel. I'm way past 50 but love to follow your advice on fashion and make-up. It would be good to join you in your Wednesday live show, but I live in Europe and it would mean staying up till 2 a.m.! Whenever you suggest an item, if it's a brand available in the UK, I'll go hunting for it. Look forward to your next inspiring tips.
Thanks, I actually stopped doing the LIVE events for a while because in the last few weeks there have been lots of technical glitches. So glad you go hunting for the fashions, I love what I do and am glad to help!
Hi Heather when you use the little round sponge do you use it slightly damp or dry? I am not a big fan of the beauty blenders. Most times I don’t think they are really clean. Thank you for all your tips and tricks!!
Love the skirt and Lacey top! Unfortunately the top is only available right now in S & M. Would you have any other suggestions for a top with that skirt? Thank you! I’m really enjoying your channel. I recently subscribed & am watching both new & previous content. 😊
Jane, you might try a plain (not lacy), figure-skimming tee shirt (your choice of sleeve length). Black, of course. It would provide a bit of ‘edge’ to the very feminine/fancy skirt. Dress it up with jewelry or down with a denim or black Moto jacket and boots. Very modern.
I know I’m past my prime. But that isn’t stopping me. I don’t wear pants when it gets warm. I wear Bermuda shorts. I’m not into short shorts. But I wear shorts everyday. It gets too hot where I live. I actually had them on a few weeks ago. It was warm for a day or two. My legs are still pasty, but I don’t care. I’m going to rock my Bermuda shorts again this year. I do however wear the same type of flip flops. I do have problems with my feet. And I wear flip flops with a hard sole. I don’t really need arch support, but I can’t wear cheap rubber flip flops. And I did buy a new pair this year. My old ones look fine. And they don’t really look orthopedic. I don’t think they are, they just have better support. I love the way you change up your outfits. That big purse swallowed you. I’m ready to change out my smaller purse for a blue one my husband bought me. I’m waiting for spring, which is a few days away. One of my granddaughters tried to talk me out of it. But I haven’t even used it yet. So she didn’t get it. It’s a tote. Which I don’t usually carry. But it’s such a pretty blue.
Ageing: gipsy skirts calf-length, 7/8 jeans with turn-ups, twin-sets, Mille Fleur-prints, peplum dresses, tan tights in flat beige sandals, brooches on patterned blouses, jeans which are too long.
I have to wear orthotics but I use Velcro to hold them in place in my sandals. Problem solved! I no longer need to find those rare sandals with arch supports.
When I leave my home I'm always properly dressed. I never use leggings or sneakers but real trousers and leather shoes. Flip flops are for beach. I use t-shirts and sweatpants only at home. I'm almost 70 years old but try to look youthful and not matronly.
Wish I could wear more fitted clothes, and styles like these. Unfortunately an autoimmune disease that affects my skin forces me to dress in what you would call frumpy. I’m sure I look frumpy, and probably get judged for looking older than I should. This disease has definitely taught me not to judge people’s clothing choices.

100% agree! We can be fashionable and vibrant at any age!
Totally!!!

Love your message! You look terrific in the updated outfits!
I have those croc flip flops and they are
Very comfortable! Never thought of them with a dress but they look great! I will try that!
They really do work as footwear with Spring/Summer dresses

Thanks for sharing, it's so important that we don't try to look 20 again but rather just update and get out of a styling rut
Once again, thank you Heather! So helpful and inspiring!👍🏻❤️
You are so welcome! So glad to be here to help!
Love your examples, they are very good! Thanks so much!

Love your channel! You really get us. Cheers lady! More power to you.
Thanks so much for the lovely comment!
Try "Vionic" orthopedic sandals. A little spendy but these are the only flip flop sandals i can wear. I swear by these.
Thanks for sharing Cindi !
Lovely, except that white t-shirt tuck looks awkward like you just came out of the bathroom and don't know it's stuck
In retrospect I think I should have done a side tuck LOL
Check out Picolinos for sandals 🥰. I just bought that straw hat!
The front tuck on the white t-shirt looks stupid.
Im watching from philipines
Welcome from me in Canada!

Great changes/updates.

Thanks and welcome!! That lacey top was completely out of stock a week ago. If you can wait the sizes may come back in a week or two??

Thanks Jackie!
Thanks...Thanks......😍😍
You are so welcome 😊
Tuck in, add a belt, nice shoes, and some jewelry. Those tips update most outfits.
Hi 👋 do the pants run smaller or big?
Always check the size chart online with your measurements, every pant I showed runs differently

Stylish shoes with good arch support...Romika, and Vionic.
Thanks for sharing this!
Are you wearing black hose or tights with that beige skirt with the black lace overlay? Is that hot?
I would have worn sandals for Spring/Summer but for Winter they were tights

I'm so sorry to hear about your condition. You make a good point. Take care.
When a color is in, and it isn’t flattering to my skin tone, I wear it in a purse or shoes. Matchy-matchy no more.
Great idea!
I don't know. You look good in both ways. I don't see much difference. You can wear anything.
Thanks
