For me, It would be Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, John Lennon, George Harrison, Edwin Starr, Karen Carpenter, John Denver, Keith Moon, Frank Zappa, Freddie Mercury, Roy Orbison, Ron “Pigpen” McKernan, Jerry Garcia, Keith Whitley, Johnny Cash, George Jones, David Bowie, Conway Twitty, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix.
Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, George Harrison, Delores O'Riordin, George Michael, David Bowie, Sinead O' Connor, Steve Harwell, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.
Karen Carpenter’s death still hurts, nearly 40 years later. She had a beautiful voice that could soothe the soul or make it joyful, depending on what she sang. I really appreciate the attention you gave her drumming, too, as she was outstanding on drums. Jon Bonham’s death also hurts to this day. I’m a huge Led Zeppelin fan and “Bonzo” was irreplaceable - best drummer ever!
Two musicians of the 80s I wish were still alive are Keith Whitley and Klaus Nomi. Keith Whitley left us all too soon, just as he'd reached the top. Klaus Nomi, however, died just two years after releasing his first two albums. He never got his chance. Both were authentic, gifted performers who left us with so much more to give. May they both rest in peace.
You left out a few great musicians that should've also been included in the list. You forgot David Byron, former lead singer of Uriah Heep, who died from liver disease in February 1985. And then you also had Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy who also died from alcohol-related septicemia a year later. And Jaco Pastorius, famed bassist for Weather Report whose albums were at their peak, dying in 1987 after getting assaulted in Florida.
Marvin Gaye's death was the most preventable death of them all. There is a special place in hell for his abusive father who outright murdered Gaye in cold blood. He was horrible to his son. It still pisses me off that Marvin Gaye Sr was not jailed for killing his son in a fit of rage. That's not self defense that was murder.
The two that hurt me the most were Bob Marley and Karen Carpenter. I always wonder what could have been, had both of them lived. How different the world could be right now.
Nobody really dies, the body expires, but the spirit and soul lives on forever...for some its a good thing, for Christians "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"...unfortunately, these musicians found to be absent from the body is to be fully separated from the Lord...sad really, very talented musicians denied Jesus, and God answered their prayer of keeping Jesus away from them. Very sad.
Shit CALIFORNIA BUD IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD HANDS DOWN 30 YEARS BEEN SMOKING CAN OUT SMOKE ANYONE BEST AND STRONGEST STRAINS CALI WINS MORE AWARDS THAN ANYONE I AM FROM OHIO
I'm sorry, John was a fraud. He lived in the most expensive, well not apartment, it was a cluster of apartments, in the most expense place in Manhattan. While writing songs like Imagine, beautiful song though it was, but written by a guy who lived in absolute, ridiculous wealth. John couldn't Imagine no possessions, because he had so much, but he could tell the rest of us we should. Give me George any day. To quote Elton John, "The various apartments they owned in the Dakota were so full of priceless artworks, antiques and clothes that I once sent them a card, rewriting the lyrics to 'Imagine': 'Imagine six apartments, it isn't hard to do, one is full of fur coats, another's full of shoes.'" Yup, man of the people...
If you could talk to any dead musician, who would it be?
I said to Hank Williams, how lonely does it get.? Hank Williams hasn't answered yet..
Freddie Mercury!

SRV was one of the biggest losses in the 80s. I got to see him live in ‘87 and he was absolutely incredible⚡️
SRV died in 1990.
Phil Lynott 1986......Metallica put Phil on the USA map.
Phil was on the map WAY before metallica!

Hi Grunge, what is this theme tune called.
On April Fools Day 1984, Marvin Gaye was shot by his own father, the same molester that abused him through his young upbringing. Sick!

What about Steve Clark, and Rhandy Rhoads both were great guitarists?
Man, no one can ever replace John Bonham.
And that's why Zeppelin disbanded. The Who carried on.
The two that hurt me the most were Bob Marley and Karen Carpenter. I always wonder what could have been, had both of them lived. How different the world could be right now.
