Dude…ive had pain there for the last year from work. Tried this and its better. Im genuinely shook right now. Ive been trying all types of different stretches and exercises and videos and nothing worked.. Thank you for this gem
I’m a mammographer but also do bone density scans I had a patient the other day with lower back pain that traveled to the front of her legs so I showed her how to do this and within a few minutes it subsided a little bit! I felt so proud… thank you for your knowledge!
It's just a matter of time before your channel blows up, every tip u give actually works and it seems too simple like it won't make a difference but has completely fixed my issues
I woke up with pain in my left leg this morning. This really worked! I've been able to walk normally and I totally forgot I woke up in pain. Thank you!
I’ve had pain since 2017 that radiates from my calf all the way down to my right blade of the foot from bulging discs. I’ve tried EVERYTHING! Dry needling, cupping, scraping, massage, cold plunge, hot tub, Biofreeze, foam rolling, injections and medications like Gabapentin and Ibuprofen. I will try this immediately!!!
You’re so good at this it almost makes me more aware of what wrong with me. I have definitely altered the approached to a 25 year fitness journey because of a lot of this content.
Omg! I am ready for any doctor to make my pain go away. Then when I go , doc tried spinal shots. Something...they couldn't put needle in very far. Something too narrow. Starting physical therapy morrow. All tests , xrays mri, nerve indicate definite pinched nerve. I just did first repetitions. Will keep you posted as to success! Thank you. Weird now, pain moving to bottom of foot 😮😮
I searched for sciatica relief and came upon this fix. I figured I'd give it a try because I just could not find any relief and no matter what I did was either making it worse or not making a difference. This fix didn't fully fix it but it felt so good, I almost cried from the relief. Now I just have to find how to find relief for the numbness I feel in my right calf (same leg as the sciatica).
dude?? i’ve been stretching and stretching for MONTHS thinking that was the issue, thank you so much for this!! i started getting sciatica nerve pain since i left my last job a few months ago, it was awful bc sometimes it’s unbearable to walk i’ve considered PT
Stretching is not good for a flare up of sciatica. The doctor is right the nerve is pinched and we have to worked with the nerve first. Flexion exercises are the best to do if you have a disk herniation.
Omfg this works like a charm I tried during the video and I’ve had this pain for 4 years and some days is impossible to deal with without pain killers but this actually helps is not painless afterwards but huge relief for sure
First thing in the morning where you feel the pain on your hip stretch it out & smack it with the palm of your hand! I felt the nerve actualy shift & it fixed it straight away! Give it a few hard wacks
Damn! I try everything I find on this channel, but I did not expect this exercise to have such a big impact 🙏 Looks like my suspicion of the piriformis might be correct. Slump test doesnt recreate that, but it does give me a light nerve like feeling in the heel.
Stick across shoulders, one foot over other while under tension, slow smooth trunk twists both ways to relieve and PREVENT sciatic compression. Any thoughts? Learned this in the powerlifting gym. Curious how it works.
I suffered from back pain for 3+ years and this exercise was absolutely useless, and jus helped me feel the pain more intensely with no reward or relief EVER. So don’t be shocked if you have similar experiences as I have.
It also helps sciatica when you lift weights and GET YOUR ASS OFF THAT CHAIR! Sitting excessively or sedentary lifestyles cause so many problems. I have moderate-severe APT because of puberty growth spurts and bad posture, excessive sitting, etc.
Can you do a video on paraparesis spastica...i have it and would like to know if there are any exercises to increase the mobility and slow down the degeneration
I've been doing stretching from 3 or 4 days but my pain just got worse and worse but from now on I will do this exercise and let you know the result in future
Question: if the sciatica involves the lower spine, why would moving the head be important? Is there any crucial correlation with the two, and possibly with the cervix aswell?
Have spina bifida occulta... Have trouble when about to sit and about to stand.. Get sciatica in both legs.. Was recommended this exercise y physio. Get relief from sciatica but becomes an issue when I have to stand up soon after the exercise.. Had to stop doing it.
This is good stuff, but it's likely only going to be effective for non-chronic pain. If someone has had sciatic pain for 20 years, they'll need something like Adhesion Release Methods.
Yes but as he mentioned, the pain is likely caused by a bulging disc, so you’ll wanna actually address the main problem. Laying in a sphinx pose and progressing to cobra pose with high repetitions should improve symptoms directly. Then nerve glides can supplement the decreasing nerve irritation. When radiating pain improves, work on core/hip strengthening, then into gradual loading again with heel raises. The time it takes you to return to pain free heel raises will likely depend on the aggressiveness of the lumbar extension exercises I first mentioned.
My physio gave me a similar exercise to help alleviate sciatic nerve pain. My understanding is that the exercise helps the nerve glide around the muscles surrounding the nerve thereby reducing tension in the nerve and the resulting pain.
Yes, desensitizing the nerve will allow you to train and rehab your injuries. How can you rehab if you take two steps and have shooting pain down your leg? Flossing and other strategies should be part of an entire rehab protocol and NOT do some nerve floss to cure your shit. Same with manual therapy and otherthings.
@@MrTyymann Man, please let me know what your symptoms were and how you fixed it. I have buldging disc and nerve pain, sphinx & cobra pose seem to help a lot! And im doing core/ hip strengthning excercicse at the moment. How did you go about healing your pain? ( i dont have a exact roadmap to follow ) Thans :)
I've been in serious pain for 3 months now. Gone to a chiropractor, three sessions with physical therapy, and massage therapy. I've also tried all manner of exercises from UA-cam like this one with no relief. This exercise hurts while I'm doing it and offers no improvement. I'm quickly moving from frustration to depression on this
Hes a doctor of physical therapy. Its not just some book you can read. Thats the basic level of education you need to start with and then you supplement it with continuing education courses.
Yes, his knowledge seems so much better than other people in this field. Especially when you see him help someone who went to see up to 10 different doctors who couldn't help, but he finally fixes the issue. How to access the information he has?
I've had a left ankle infusion. I've seen you help people get back on their feet physically. I'm having a hard time with the healing. Of my ankle without pain. I don't want to go to pain management. I want to be healed and flexible with balance to be able to exercisays. What do you recommend
Hey big dog I got a burning tension in my heel, it jumped to the OTHER foot after healing up the one it originally showed on. One of your videos said stretching would make it worse, how can you unpinch the nerve if it's in the back - would your side bend/holds building spinal stability release the nerve?
I have a bulging disc and sciatica... I ALSO HAVE HAMSTRING TIGHTNESS, so are you saying that the hamstring is not actually tight but it's the sciatic nerve that prevents my leg from raising higher than 60 degrees in the leg raise test?
I’ve suffered from sciatic pain for several years. I did 10 reps of this flossing and…it did nothing. We’ll it hurts a little more now actually. Only thing that helps is a good night sleep.
Is it normal for some people to have worse symptoms after this exercise, as sometimes i do it I feel fine but when I get up i fee tight. Also if i have tight hamstrings as a consequence of the nerve pain, should i only lift my leg until the tightness restricts amy further, or do i push slightly further. I have been slightly pushing further where my leg starts shaking a bit sometimes. Im wondering whether maybe im pushing too far and thats why this exercise isnt working as well?
So I did this for weeks and it did help but eventually my piriformis syndrome won out and got so back I couldn’t function snd had to have an injection for any relief. What did I do wrong?? Thanks!
Is it possible to have noticeable pain from a bulged disc as well as sciatica pain just beneath the piriformis muscle? Both of those locations having different pains?
I have really bad lower left back pain that spreads down my leg, I tried this and I felt so much worse I could barely crawl back to bed, could I have something different?
I was also told this by a physical therapist. The pain was not reduced by flossing, but inflamed it further and causes more pain. Be careful guys -- Know your limits.
Not only reps, but you can do this supine and /or the distal portion only. This technique, if performed correctly is VERY gentle and only for moving the nerve through the sheath and not tugging at it. You should be guided through this first to see how you do it and your response to it...
I have try this because i had a incident few weeks ago, when i was playing with dog i had a serious pain on back. Now it comes sometimes i workout. And when i try this when right foot upand necj down , i jave pain in lowe left back. Do u have ny thhing i an do to heal . And do i have to hold working out.
but this makes the symptoms worse so when do youstop the motion? before you feel symptoms? my symptoms are felt almost right away and it makes it worse
When I do these, I get a crazy spike/shock pain down my leg and then almost like a tickle in my heel. But the thing is it’s in both legs. What could this mean?
