My wife and I have rescued and raised 14 different dogs and dog breeds over the years and the one that truly broke my heart and that I missed the most was my Basset, Mr. Bentley.

I have a male Bassett Hound that will soon be 14 months old. How long before he's a bit more settled? I love him, he's very loved and lovable, but I'm 60 y.o. and I can hardly handle him. He has no toys because he loves to tear them apart within 5 minutes of getting it. I can't seem to find anything he won't destroy. All adopted one 8 yr Maggie Mae, Karlie 10 wks, And I just passed 13 1/2 Sadie Mae Margaret adopted at 4… They were all loving super funny, ALWAYS hiding her bones they never vocal n always were hiding especially my Sadie ❤n Maggie. ❤Karlie❤ I think thought it was a girl' ❤❤ thing n always made me laugh. I', ve been so blessed. ❤ and hope to be AGAIN SOON.

Harnesses have to be snug on Bassetts due to their short legs and stocky build. Otherwise they'll throw it into reverse and slip right out of it.
One thick Bassett that harness looks extremely tight gonna cause hot spots especially during summer
