This sounds like 4 talented high school jazz band students discovered they all love classic rock and then recorded an album in their garage and I love it
Divine faeces indeed, but I don't think you read Russell Grant's comment properly. (He is suffering the realisation that most mortals experience when they see jaw-dropping talent)
the whole album Corsicana Lemonade is phenomenal. when I first heard it I listened to it straight through, and there were only a few things that stood out to me, but I listened to it again and picked up on so many subtleties that I didn't the first time. this will be considered a timeless album one day. It is such an amazing album.
These guys are incredible live! I liked their music before I saw them play, but I was blown away at their performance in Athens. They'd take a four minute song and build up and jam on it for 10 minutes!
Hmmm.. Looks like 38 dislikes = 38 ppl that wish they could play HALF as good as these fellas! 😜 White Denim is an absolutely incredible band. Much love! ✊
Got to see them twice in the UK. Amazing live band. Audience smashed it up at rock city, Leadmill, Sheffield full of old farts scared of spilling their beer I spilt some
I watch this at least once every night after work, well at least "A place to start" man this is real music, touches my soul!! and get back toooo youuuu!!
I remember seeing them at the sasquatch festival back in 2011 that they had referred to in this interview. They were playing on the smallest stage in front of 70-80 people and they absolutely blew me away. Instant fan and huge fan ever since.
Kevin Parker called these guys, "freakishly talented musicians," on the Tame Impala live album, so I had to come see for myself. My God, he was not lying.
Big head Todd and the Monsters mixed with The Spin Doctors in a more garaged way. Then there's the Allman Bros w/ slight Thin Lizzy and a dose of Steely Dan done in a garage mode. Phewwww!!! Amazing amazing guitar band!
I just always come back to this, they're so spot on with each instrument. But as a drummer myself I must say....what an absolute beast of a drummer. The flow, the technique, he makes it look so damn easy.
Joshua Block. Criminally invisible. But god damn if his playing with White Denim isn't my favorite 'rock' drumming of the last fifteen years. Incomparable in his moment. Still so sad that he and Austin left. I saw them when they were touring this album and during the previous one.
@@AustinMello they came to town once at a 21 and up venue but I was only 17 at the time. It was the only time they came before Josh left the band and it has always been on my bucket list to see them all play together, but I don’t think I’ll ever have the chance :(
After having watched this several times, the part that most impresses me is the solo on A Place to Start. Slightly different from the album but very tasteful and very well done.
I know these guys shred but for some reason I look at their faces and keep wondering when they are going to be fixing my computer? Just kidding!! Thanks for keeping the real rock banner up and flying and love the new single "Holda You"!!!
HaHa LOL, I see the bass player and wonder if they had to get a note to be allowed off school. Either that, or I imagine them sitting waiting for the school bus while holding a scruffy bag on their lap. (But his playing is superb, just in case anyone misinterprets and thinks I am saying he plays bass like a schoolkid)
Yooooo.... These are geniuses bundled up together! James Bay recommended them thru Andertons meet video. Crisp sounds! CRISP! But that Drummer is a freakin beast! Chill af.
Rock is alive and kicking but it is in shadows now. There are so many great rocks bands if one looks below the surface .Relatively new Bands like White Denim ,The Black Angles, Brain Jonestown Massacre, Greta Van fleet ,Tame Impala,Steve Gunn, Megafaun, Garcia Peoples, Ty Segall etc are eclectic and make sure that spirit of older classic rock bands ( Grateful Dead, 13th floor elevators, Doors.Beatles,Byrds,Kinks, Little Feat,ABB, Quick silver messenger etc) is kept alive
+Kevin Taaffe Not sure what "O.O" means. But I'm going to assume it's a compliment. If so, I agree. In a brilliant band, I think he's the most underrated. Block might be the best ever. And Jenkins should be in the conversation among guitarists. Petralli? He's really come into his own vocally and is carving a bust in the pantheon. Terebecki can easily be overlooked; but his contributions are brilliant.
This sounds like 4 talented high school jazz band students discovered they all love classic rock and then recorded an album in their garage and I love it
hey umm... give it up for white denim! holy moly, what a bunch of freakishly good musicians
+Harry Ruxton make us look like novices
Alright, see if we can prove our musical prowess...
+Harry Ruxton bludgeoning myself to death with my guitar would be poetic justice for sucking so much in relation to Austin Jenkins.
+Russell Grant holy shit wtf austin is so amazing how could you ever say that
Divine faeces indeed, but I don't think you read Russell Grant's comment properly. (He is suffering the realisation that most mortals experience when they see jaw-dropping talent)

Remember my eagles. That is the worst on the album but still pretty good. It just feels out of place
When a bands music style is a mix of various genres, and they are talented, and they practice, you get the the wonderful sound of White denim.
They fucking shred live. Drummer is on another level
Wolfatadoor they were great when I saw them at Mountain Jam. Guy pulled his strings off his guitar
Sad this formation is no more, but White Denim is still awesome!
Every couple of months I'll come back to 16:04... My absolute favorite recording of this song
Saw this when it first aired, ran out and bought everything I could find of theirs. It sounds even better now than it did then!
These guys are incredible live! I liked their music before I saw them play, but I was blown away at their performance in Athens. They'd take a four minute song and build up and jam on it for 10 minutes!
yah i feel that white denim is a genre in their own right "jam rock"
Fantastic. This is one of my favourite albums
This is where music needs to go
Martin Burton Yes agreed!! Bop English, new project.
@Martin Burton Huge YES for this remark. Well, 6 years later not really happening, at least there are musicians of that caliber!
Still waiting 😂
Soul crushingly brilliant musicians
Hmmm.. Looks like 38 dislikes = 38 ppl that wish they could play HALF as good as these fellas! 😜

Got to see them twice in the UK.
Amazing live band.
Audience smashed it up at rock city,
Leadmill, Sheffield full of old farts scared of spilling their beer
I spilt some
I watch this at least once every night after work, well at least "A place to start" man this is real music, touches my soul!! and get back toooo youuuu!!
This was their best lineup. Amazing!
Facts
I'm hooked ❣
classic rock is making a come back!!!! need rock like this again!!!!
Thanks for fixing the "full" performance upload. These guys are fabulous!
I remember seeing them at the sasquatch festival back in 2011 that they had referred to in this interview. They were playing on the smallest stage in front of 70-80 people and they absolutely blew me away. Instant fan and huge fan ever since.
a place to start is one of the better songs ever! great live version fellas
These guys are so fine and energic!!! They're rocking and chillin' at the same time
Wow they are bad ass. The guitar work is excellent .
such talented musicians
these guys are beyond talented. have seen them twice, and they blew me away both times. such nice dudes too!
Austin has the best guitar face in the whole of music.
Kevin Parker called these guys, "freakishly talented musicians," on the Tame Impala live album, so I had to come see for myself. My God, he was not lying.
Excelent, thank you so much from Argentina!!
These guys ROCK. Nothing like seeing em live in a club...if you get the chance DO NOT pass it up!
Best band of the last 5 years
man i miss the band like this.
Kick ass band, bout to see them tonight. He mentioned their influences are mostly rock n roll. Someone in this band definitely listens to jazz too!
Got my money on either the bass Ayer or drummer haha
Love these doods...lemonade is the best denim album
More people need to see this...
Big head Todd and the Monsters mixed with The Spin Doctors in a more garaged way. Then there's the Allman Bros w/ slight Thin Lizzy and a dose of Steely Dan done in a garage mode. Phewwww!!! Amazing amazing guitar band!
I hear Allman Bros for sure
I just always come back to this, they're so spot on with each instrument. But as a drummer myself I must say....what an absolute beast of a drummer. The flow, the technique, he makes it look so damn easy.

@@AustinMello yeah he truly is an underrated drummer. Do you know any other bands he's played on?
@@Tom_Coppola both Joshua Block and Austin Jenkins left White Denim to tour with Leon Bridges. Not sure if they're still with him.
@@AustinMello that's interesting, they work really well for a rock ensemble
@@AustinMello they came to town once at a 21 and up venue but I was only 17 at the time. It was the only time they came before Josh left the band and it has always been on my bucket list to see them all play together, but I don’t think I’ll ever have the chance :(
Why is this not the greatest band on earth?!?!
Phenomenal writing w/ complex changes- love these guys!!!!! We’ve seen them many times in concert and hope to forever!!!
dat main riff in "at night in dreams" is so sick
Ridiculously cool.
After having watched this several times, the part that most impresses me is the solo on A Place to Start. Slightly different from the album but very tasteful and very well done.
This guitarist reminds me of The Lone Ranger. A technician with heart!
simply perfect
love the solo at night in dreams!!!!!
common guys get your arse over to Scotland!! much love!
Great music ! keep on rocking!
this is really relaxing, amazing musicians !!!
I know these guys shred but for some reason I look at their faces and keep wondering when they are going to be fixing my computer? Just kidding!!

IM * UTAU they referred to themselves as nerds when I saw them live
@@JohnPreston888 The bassist IS in school. SCHOOL OF ROCK! I met him two weeks ago and I shook his hand. His hands are small but he plays well!!
Wow.....musicians with talent....."where's my camera....I need to take a picture before this fades away". Awesome band.
Awesome tunes! I heard you guys before, glad kEXP reintroducing me
Yooooo.... These are geniuses bundled up together! James Bay recommended them thru Andertons meet video. Crisp sounds! CRISP! But that Drummer is a freakin beast! Chill af.
The guitar riffs in A Place To Start remind me of Impossible Germany and Either Way. They wear their Wilco influence well!
Good musicians don't need attitude and clichés. This guys prove it. Oh man, this is so much fun! :)
Wow! What a great band.
Awesomely good.
White Denim is an amazing band!
OK.So tight! Consumate live execution. /We're in!!!
they are honest musician.. great..!!!
So, so nice.
Dude sounds like Auerbach!
Ayeeee i thought the same thing
I can hear it now that you mentioned it.
Auerbach sounds like him
@@ki4gmb yes, you are right.
Kick butt music! Reminds me of late 70's rock.
damn ! i like this band they are good period
I can dig this
Love it
They sound like they know what they are doing.
Saw them at Mountain Jam, great rock n roll band
Yayaa fresh music !
omg I love you stevie

Really missing that Rickenbacker bass. Bring it back!
You can really hear their passion for Wilco music in "A Place to Start" (Their last song of the set)
White Denim is 🐐
that bassist O.O
man child
Is a machine
***** really? I love that band but I always taught the bassist was adding nothing to it, could be a lot more used in my opinion.

awesooooooooooome
DOPE.
These guys are so great. They even had the good taste to not charge $7-15 for their Record Store Day 7".
The only reason I stumbled across this group was because one of their covers was used in fargo. They are brilliant!
i don't love how they ONLY play new stuff now
Like it yeah..
half of these guys are killing it backing Leon Bridges
Did Stax and Muscle Shoals get reincarnated here? I can't say enough good things about these guys.
shredded
The house band at Best Buy in Austin.
Ryan Gosling on the kit? 00:27
The girl is so cute
I'm 10 years old right now
Reminiscent of Patto, which is a compliment.
...”give it up for White Denim”... -Kevin Parker
That last tune has a little Nels Cline Impossible Germany jam in it.
대박!
awesome! now get english bop on here
Of course jeff tweedy produced some of their stuff...seems like hes behind everything amazing
Really bitchin' live performance. The lead guitarist is amazingly nuanced, but then again so are the other players.
A way more badass Black Keys
His voice reminds me of Paul Rogers
Where do you start with these guys? They're all amazing. But it's nice to hear a recording that can pull out Terebecki's brilliant accuracy.
+Dan B "I Start To Run" is a great one. Also their "From The Basement" session is totally different but equally awesome.
Fuck yes!
This question is to James Nixon, are the FX in voice, reverb first and delay after or the opposite?
Красаучики!
Every WD drummer is amazing but Josh Block is the best
That's my brother not playing and you can ask my mom love you stevie
❤️😀
Whats the name of the lead guitar player in this?
Austin Jenkins
