I think for city driving you have to do a mix of driving and self-driving. Use the self-driving for those easy stretches and just takeover whenever you see something complicated like a difficult merge.
@@GizmoMaltese def depends on the city tbh. My city is pretty urban but self drive can do it all. People also are more space giving as well when lane changing, maybe thats a factor as well

My M3 hit a curb day after updating to 24.3.6. Amazingly I was able to get Tesla service to pay for a new rim and alignment, but it was a huge hassle and I got lucky.
Good that you were able to get Tesla to pay for it. I've noticed since the last update that FSD tends to drive dangerously close to the curb even when there is no oncoming traffic. I've had to disengage it more than 20 times already because of that. Not going to take a chance and let it ruin my rim.
I would definitely not even drive myself in crazy city situations like that, let alone do that with FSD turned on. Human drivers are too impatient who drive in traffic like that. Thanks for this video. take care.
This is just amazing. Remember version 12 is like a six months old baby. It gets better every single week. You guys do the same in about six months and you’ll see major improvement.
Here's the fact: The FSD video y'all showed is using an OLD Tesla car! I had that Tesla Model 3 and replaced it with a 2024 Tesla Model Y Performance, and the difference is HUGE! Then we also have the 2024 Tesla Model S Plaid, and again, that beats our old Tesla cars. So, it's not the real representation of what Tesla FSD is now, period.
This video shows many things, one of which is the ability of humans to adapt to changing environments whilst driving. It’s no small feat for a Self Driving system to adapt to these conditions. It’s quite simply “difficult as hell” when you consider the processing requirements, consider your next drive and the complexity of the decisions you make. Tesla needs to name this system whilst in development to something like Adaptivation or something. Adaptation is the key to any successful and safe trip on our roads. Love the video Dan, keep up the amazing work and as always apologies for my comments a little while back 😂😂
The reason why self driving doesn’t work very well right now is because we don’t have every car self driving yet but once every car is self driving, then they’ll be able to navigate a lot smoother and they’ll know when to pull in. Pull out turn left or right or do all the stuff they need to do very easily because there won’t be real people driving
If there are self walking people, self driving cars, self driving cyclist, self walking animals then yes. Otherwise this tech will always underperform compared to slightly experienced human behind the wheel
THANKS DAN 🤗 AND JARED FOR SHARING THIS…$99 a month is worth it IMHHO…AND YOU BOTH WERE VERY NERVOUS 😥…BUT in MHHO it was not going to hit the F 150 , but go around it…I watched many other FSD videos and it was very Safe and courteous …but better to be safe than sorry 🤗💚💚💚
I have driven in Las Vegas and it is crazy and a nightmare. I have missed turns plenty of times and you just need to try again and be a very aggressive driver. The passenger had to help the driver navigate and reassure him which lane he needed to turn. There were lots of hazard cones and those can be tricky to navigate when you are not used to the area. Not an easy driving situation for most humans and more training will only make the care smarter and safer. Honestly, when I am in Vegas, I park near a big casino and then walk most of the time or take a Uber or Shuttle from my resort. Great test. One A+ and one failure but come back and test in another two months and see if the F turns to a A+. Releases are coming out fast. Try to compare a different system like Waymo vs Tesla FSD in Vegas during the crazy times when it failed.
he press twice to turn on full self driving and that tolds me he never use that before. cause for a long time you just need to press once to active FSD
I thought that the cars at 5:34 that marked as blue on the screen where teslas and somehow it recognized both. ( but then realized that only the first car in the right is a Tesla model Y and the one turning from the left it’s from another brand). But I think that it’s just a matter of time that Teslas are goin to sync up and tell if FSD is enabled and then the rest of auto makers will follow the trend and it’ll be like superchargers that all auto makers will have their FSD synced up to make the roads even more safe.
Driving by the book, wouldn't the correct minute at the 10 minute mark be to wait behind the light until there was space ahead on the other side of the intersection?
I was a Tesla fanboy until the FSD drove the car to two portholes and bent the front left rim, which Tesla refused to fix for me for free due to "its the human driver's responsibility during FSD if anything happens." Luckily, the car did not hit a human being but a couple of porthole. So if Tesla is not confident enough to take responsibility while FSD is in use when incident happens, then I cannot be more confident in Tesla than it is in itself.
