Trucks are nuts these days. A few years ago this LT Cloth would’ve been 45 max. Max. Cloth seats for 61 they are insane
Buddy of mine just paid $65k for a cloth f150. Agree that this is absurd
In Feb 2021 my Stepdad bought a new Silverado LT Trail Boss package with the heated cloth seats and it stickered at 57 grand. Crazy
my 19 ltz msrp was 54K and payed 42,500 for it….. I miss the real rebates they used to have

I was watching a car expert a couple weeks ago. He said if you took the price of a truck in the early 1990's added inflation and then doubled that number you end up with a 2023 truck price. The prices are beyond what I'll spend. They've priced me out of the market. I'll just keep fixing what I have.
$45k truck at best pre pandemic and $50k truck at best post pandemic (my opinion). MSRP’s are crazy right now. I would not make a new truck purchase an impulse buy right now.

Only if you agree to pay it. The covid buying bonanza is over! Sales are plummeting and it's quickly becoming a buyers market again. If you're willing to search around, you can now find trucks with $5000 discounts and prices are only going to get better as the demand continues to fall. The only reason it took this long for prices to start falling is because there have still been a lot of stupid buyers wiling to overpay. Now that the brainless buyer pool is drying up, prices are naturally falling.
They’re discount 44-48k here in CA with the 2.7 and a 5.3L here and there.
I bought mine in 21 before the chips shortage , was 52k + taxes /financing fully loaded ltz , z71 package , 360 cameras , rear mirror camera, hud etc now a days is about 66k
I’m one of the few that actually likes base model trucks. Check a few boxes and you pretty much have a truck that’s still simple with a few creature comforts like what the midlevel trims used to offer. That’s how I did my Ram Classic Tradesman.
I bought the Silverado Custom. To me, the front grill and wheels on that are nicer looking than this "upgraded" model.

The RST is the best trim level for the money. I was going to buy the 2022 version of the truck in the video, which is basically the same truck, minus the higher bowtie, but when I saw the RST, with deleted chrome, leather interior, LED lights, inside and out, blacked out headlight bezels, premium Bose sound system, that hits, it was a no Brainer. All you need is wheels, tires, and maybe a lift.🎉
We need to boycott buying new trucks so these crazy truck prices can go down.

That truck is a good package...very similar to the '23 Sierra Elevation that I just bought. Mine was a double cab (I wanted the longer box) and it had X31 package (Z71), 20" wheels, bed liner, MultiPro Tailgate, 5.3L/10spd, and has the same interior configuration with the bench/column shifter. Without going to a more expensive truck, the package serves its purpose. Not too fancy but not barebones either. The sticker on mine was $60,280 before GM discount.

Well, I owned that 5.3, and it had issues. The dealer said it was fine though. Yeah, the engine missing and running rough in Park, and then losing power when you take off, but since there wasn't a code, nothing is wrong.
I'd get that Ram or Ford.
Yeah I like to keep my vehicle longer than a year so I buy fords or Toyotas
Mine does this, but oddly enough, that’s how it’s designed. The shaking during idle is inbalance and the dead throttle feel is the stupid mapping to reduce fuel usage. I’m selling it to get the baby duramax soon, as that drives MUCH better
Everything your experiencing is from them trying to get every drip of MPG they can get out of the truck the shaking/running rough is the engine running super lean not getting enough fuel and it switching cylinders off and on the sooner people realize the government is your worst enemy the sooner we can fix this issue.
This truck as is should be 40k. Period.
I bought a 2021 Silverado RST in the prepandemic. Got it for $37k. A year later I checked the prices for the same truck and trim. $48k. Prices are getting out of hand.

These trucks go for 30k straight outta the factory. For a dealership to slap on 30 extra k is straight criminal
61K is equivalent to 49K in 2018. The issue is inflation it is whatis out of control
Inflation is down to about 3%. Price increases now are just reflective of greed. GM make a profit of about $17,000 for each pickup. Clearly, GM could sell these trucks for less!!!

Current inflation rate is 3.2
considering I paid 42k for a trailboss with leather at the end of 2019 - msrp was 56k, these prices are out of control. Id also be looking for the duramax option although I have the 5.3 and have had no problems out of it, i prefer the dmax. I just cant accept the price increase - they are not worth that price at all.
Truck went from 56k to 42k must have been a nice discount which is hard to believe probably had a nice trade in.

I recently bought a new Porsche Mecan T with the premium package and really nice 20" wheels; sticker was 72,000. My parents thought I spent too much and I told them it is cheaper than most trucks on the road out there.....

I wouldn't buy one right now. With these crazy prices and high intrest rates. Too many are sitting on the dealers lot. Soon the prices will have to drop.

My 2023 Sierra Elevation has the column shifter and had a $61,000 sticker...which I like better anyways.

Drove all of the big 3 half tons and the Tundra in 21 before I went from my 2012 LT to an LT Trail Boss. All the trucks out there are great trucks but value wise the Chevy gets it done and its also the best looking truck imho. I did get one with AFM/DFM delete though and wouldn't have bought a 5.3 without the delete because of the issues with the lifters. I did drive a TRX which is a beast but no way I'm laying out close to 6 figures for a truck

@209Stretch The 2021's had AFM/DFM delete starting March of 2021 build dates and most of 2021 but not sure of end date. The reason I was given was that it was due to the chip shortage, and you got -$50 bucks off the sticker price too👍

Man $61k for a pretty much regular truck is wild. $48k-$52k max. GM act as if duel air controls are luxury lol the greed from these companies head people is unreal. I don’t think a guy making $100k is going to look at that truck as luxury. That’s a regular everyday truck with a package with an OVER PRICED sticker.

I'm sure some people need to sardine 6 people in the cab but not me.
I prefer the bench seat with the fold down center. More leg/knee room, stretch out across on a trip, put an ice box up front or a bag if need be. Or cozy up with that specific someone while cruising on a long open stretch, one of the few joys life has to offer.

I cant seem to find a great deal on a truck. I look on the website they show one thing, and i get at the dealership its something else, or they keep trying to shove a 2.7 pro , with half of the options missing, down my throat.

In 2018, I paid $36000 and change for a 2018 Chevy silverado LT Z71. So in 5 years, this truck has increased in price, $24000 dollars!! I personally simply refuse to pay the prices they want today. My 2018 will be the last new truck I'll ever own, apparently! It will litterly be cheaper to replace drive trains at today's prices.
I have that truck as well, currently only at 66k. My last truck was a 2013 Sierra before that one. You should be able to get at least 150k out of the Tranny but who knows. The trucks that you could drive up to 300 with no issues are now a thing of the past so if my truck does go I hope it goes when the economy isn’t taking a shit and the prices are lower because my truck is paid off. But also who knows in todays world they may even have a loan tracker that alerts the dealership when your loan is paid off they push a button to cause your truck to break down so you’ll return to the dealership for a new one
$61K isn’t that far off what you can find a High Country or LTZ for. The LT with all those trimmings isn’t a great configuration from a value perspective.

Ben Hardy's videos would be some of the best car videos on the internet if he would slow down his talking. Listening to Ben's fast talk can drive you nuts. In a video like this, the viewer wants to hear all of the details. Having to slow down the video and replay portions over and over really does make these videos painful to listen to. That is too bad. With just a little effort and perhaps less coffee or whatever, Ben's videos would be marvelous.

10spd auto, cylinder deactivation along with stupid annoying stop/start and still 15 MPGs. The old late 90s early 2000s trucks & SUVs would last. These have known lifter failure around 60k miles.
They got rid of the cylinder deactivation on the 5.3s starting with the 2023 model year

The sticker is almost reasonable. GM fuel ratings are a joke (it’ll prob get 13/15), and those mirrors are too small, but a nice truck. Would I need to defeat that stupid start/stop every time?😊
You should be able to purchase a ODB-II device that allows you to defeat the start/stop system. I got one for my wife's Jeep Cherokee and it works great.
I have this truck with same engine. It averages 20mpg with my routine driving
Had a1999 with 5.3 consistently got 19 mpgs don't know how it would be less after 20+ years of improvement
