- [Mono] Ms. Harry sings lead on a jazzy number with the assistance of the in-house band, which includes Hiram Bullock on guitar; Don Alias on percussion; Philippe Saisse on keyboards; Tom Barney on bass; David Sanborn on reeds; and Omar Hakim on additional percussion for this eclectic USTV program from the past. Hal Willner was the creative force behind this musical program.
She's 44 years old here and is like ...wow. Stunning.
Total proof Debbie harry is one of the best singers of all time
best singer of all time??? Whahahahaaaaaaaa! 😂😂😂😂
Yes, one of the best
@@jasonchace494 at least top 5,
U should hear atomic live mate
❤ loved
Wow, when she sings along with all the notes in the melody the guitarist picks out, it's SO perfect! So smooth and yet so controlled, too. She is a better vocalist than she gets credit for.
Behold1987 she really is and that’s why her time with the jazz passengers is so interesting
I agree
For lots of good reasons, plenty of people didn't realize what a great vocalist she is. Check out a song a simple as "Picture This."
Always been a criminally underrated singer
I dont see how she has ever been underrated??
@@katsully8716 She was underrated as a singer. I think the media focused on her looks and her style. Her lyrical phrasing, musicality and actual vocal character are underrated.
A beautiful artist that can change with great flexibility and a wonderful unique sound!
That was a very impressive performance. From Debbie mainly of course but all the other musicians performed well also. Flawless 💞
Debbie never was prettier or sounded better than this. Stunning
This is phenominal. She never fails to surprise me.
Brings tears to my eyes 😢Fabulous
Great song. So underated.
She shines like the brightest star!!!!
calmarie is such a pretty song and def dumb and blonde such an under rated album great performance here.

Debbie Harry_Blondie is talent and looks.Perfect then and aging beautifully.
This is one of her best solo performances, ever.
D, Harry does have a a distinctive manner of enunciation. Delightful.
Gorgeous. Debbie is wonderful, comprehensive vocalist and the rest of musicians really impressive.
Perfect Sounding Deborah Singing Like an Angel!

i adore you debbie and blondie. i love you from the beginning.
Your not the only one. Me too! ❤
Just beautiful. Not everybody could pull this off. I get the chills just listening to this. I like some jazz and I love this. Thanks Debbie. This was special!
She's awesome 😍😍
Just seeing/hearing this for the 1st time. Utter perfection!! Debbie Harry looks, and sounds breathtaking!! She was terribly underrated. I'm glad I have cherished her work, and her talent, all of my life.
I have never seen a band with each member looking so “sultry” and really “digging it” like these guys, everyone is in their heaven here 👄😉👄
very beautiful.
Wow! Just wow!
Amazing song.
Debbie Harry Rules.
RIP DAVID SANBORN, 78, (prostate cancer diagnosed in 2018). 🎷😢
I often think back to this amazing show, and this one performance is just burnt into my memory. I didn't know this was Debbie Harry, I just knew it was a blonde in leopard print, with Omar killing it on percussion, a backup singer who did a great job, and David's sax just kicking it up to the next level. I like the album version, but this live performance will always be my favourite. I wish I could purchase this recording and many of the other guests of Night Music on iTunes to get a good clean listen.
Thanks for posting!
Yeah this was magical. I remember when it aired to and I was like OMG. And I loved Blondie as a kid but this was crazy.
Afinada , Debbie e uma super cantora, canta jazz com facilidade ....
wowwwwwww super high qualityyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Kito Bianchort Thanks for the compliment :)
That "jazzy number" is a track on her third solo album 'Def, Dumb And Blonde'.
A MASSIVE THANK YOU for uploading this: First time I have seen this and its one of my favourite tracks LOVE IT 👄👄👄 Mwah! Wonderful
That lucky guitarist just cannot stop looking at her ... lucky guy
I'd be drooling. Lol
I saw this live on the David Sanborn show and was mesmerized by Debra Harry and her voice in this performance. A side of her I had not seen, and it is indeed perfection and magical on every level. Thank you for posting.
You are most welcome! Glad you enjoyed re-living the moment, and took the time to say so :)

I had to buy me a Blondie shirt :)
Beautiful performance! Very sexy
What is the title of the song?
Callmarie
Debbie is perfect ... the band and back groud vocals ruined the perfection
You must be kidding. Since when is this band a problem for you? 😳
oooh that sax player is way too loud & hes racing her .....she would have been really pissed off at him for sure....he shouldn't have been so close to her or the microphone
That’s how the part is meant to be. And no, he’s not “racing her”.
well ive heard way better versions than this one & the sax player should know better@@ikshields
@@mrman8342 Part of that is how it's being mixed for TV. It could have been way different on stage. Where are some better versions of this? I love this song and would love to hear them.
pushy, pushy, pushy david sanborn. sax DEFINITELY not needed here, sounds like he's trying to drown our her vocals... but he can't, ha!
I'm no expert but are you sure that's a saxophone? Whatever it is, I agree with you, needs to stand at the back with a mute!
@@david-wall - Yes, of course it’s a saxophone.
Nonsense. The part is meant to be aggressive and wild, almost like an elephant call. It’s exactly the idea, they rehearsed it that way, and Sanborn delivers it perfectly.
Get to know how music gets made a little bit, please.
@@david-wall It's a soprano sax. Not the alto sax commonly used in rock and Jazz.
I saw this live on the David Sanborn show and was mesmerized by Debra Harry and her voice in this performance. A side of her I had not seen, and it is indeed perfection and magical on every level. Thank you for posting.
