Not Zelda related but did you hear the Pokémon home SV update for the 23rd/24th was apparently a mistake, the release date has yet to be announced AGAIN 🙄🙄
Btw all you need is 2 fans and 1 Control Stick. Be in a flat surface face the fans down and grab the control stick and angle is 45 degrees and add each fans to the side. That’s the best low cost flying device very good in the depths.
Have you ever gotten something called "ancient blade" from the Archer Link amiibo? I got it today and it's very strong 50+ damage and it makes arrows into ancient arrows just like in BOTW
A lot of people think the korok forest is depressing because of what’s under the deku tree, but theyre really just mourning all of their brother and sisters who we hit of the head with rocks
This story behind the quest itself is well worth the hassle of collecting the tears. I am glad I get to watch the cutscenes via memory log but damn the last two cutscenes hit hard but the very last cutscene before getting the sword pulled out hit the hardest.
Ok, I’m confused. Was the story ruined for Austin because he wasn’t able to view the memories of the geoglyphs? Or are we still able to view the memories of the geoglyphs after obtaining the Master Sword? :/
I must say this game really makes the master sword feel like THE master sword, no more silly little sword that isn’t important to the plot all that much. A true sword to seal away the darkness…
Stayed up until 3am getting the last few dragon tears and finally the master sword, and I cried for a few minuets after watching everything, it’s truly wonderful when a game can make you feel such emotions from a simple cutscene
Nahh bruh, I was on a nearby island and I saw the dragon and I decided to go on it and grabbed out of it crystal things and then I saw the sword and I was like “is that like a replica?” So I grabbed it and now I have the master sword early in the game by accident :_(. And now I can’t enjoy the memories in order 😢. Why did the devs do this
@@zup_dhowg9454 nooo that sucks man, sadly i was kinda spoiled on the whole dragon thing before i even got the game, but thankfully i wasn't spoiled on the memories themselves so i was still somewhat able to enjoy them
@@zup_dhowg9454 I also stumbled across the sword relatively early in my playthrough - just happened to have stocked up on stamina first and had an absurd amount of batteries attached to a flyer I was using. I still followed all the other memories in order and I found It didn't diminish the impact of everything else coming together as I did the other memories in order. I would still recommend that you do the rest in order, then go back and rewatch that last memory - it hits much different after getting everything else, so you shouldn't let finding the sword early stop you from doing the rest of the memories in order.
So I didn’t know there was a fight down there. I was just having fun and exploring. My all time fear in all Zelda games are the wall and floor hands. ANY hand monster I never touched in ANY Zelda game. Required or not. Even in OOT on the 3DS I had my friend complete the shadow and Forrest temple because of those hands. I jumped down, the hands grabbed me. I teleported out of there. Marked it with a skull on the map and never went back. That was game launch day…..it is currently September…I still never went back. I’m watching this video to gather the courage to fight this thing. Thank you Austin for making this video. I’ve watched you since BOTW and you actually randomly saw some of my in game horse pics on Instagram and liked them. To this day I still have the screen shot of you liking my horse back from BOTW. It still makes me smiles and still feels like an honor. I’m happy to see your channel grow and more of your videos. My first video finding you was leaving the great plateau early and instantly dying once you left early. Still makes me laugh all these years later ❤❤
Did you ever go back and fight the gloom hands? They’re scary but honestly not that hard once you get down the technique of bomb arrows he used in this video! They also can’t climb walls, and there is a platform somewhere in that room you can use ascend on and get them from above 🤍
@@brookejon3695 I got the sword first too. It’s not the end of the world and won’t ruin the game, I just feel like it would have enhanced the experience
Getting the Master Sword in this game is probably the best moment I've had in the game. I already did all the geoglyphs but didn't realise they basically told you where the Master Sword was. I was just roaming around the world and stumbled across it. That moment will forever be engraved in my mind. Amazing game!
This is one of 2 ways to get the dragon to descend. Watching the geoglyphs is the other way, without having to fight the gloom/phantom to get it. Also make sure you have your required stamina before you watch the final geoglyph. The dragon will be right there and you can proceed straight to the sword if you come prepared.
Yeah this is how I got the master sword. Didn't even know about the Deku Tree giving us the sword quest. Just focused on getting the memories then the dragon appeared.
I got it with neither. I just happened to see her after a couple sky dungeons and islands, took a picture because i realised it was a new dragon, and only having found about 3 memories at that point I figured out its significance. What i did not know was that she was carrying the master sword, so after seeing her several times i decided to ascend on a wierd little hover bike contraption to get to her, out of just wanting to get closer to harvest a scale or two, and then I realised she wasnt dangerous, so while being amazed that i actually could land on a dragon, and picking up all those juicy shards for my weapons, I thought of going to the head to get a great view, and as link climbed over that golden mane I saw it, the master sword. and i was absolutely blown away until i realised that my first thought as to what the light dragon is was most likely correct.... so i just stayed with her for two irl hours riding around hyrule, also mapping her flight path for future reference as i did not have enough stamina yet to pull the sword.
@@lyonegra8204 Wow. That was very serendipitous! And when did you realize it was her all along. I think your version played off more of a Sixth Sense realization that it was her the whole time. At least that would have been for me. I think maybe even better reveal than seeing the glyphs first!
Ugh this game …. There’s even more mystery, emotion and brilliance than in BOTW. I legit got emotional during the whole scene. Granted, I found the dragon through the geoglyphs and since I knew the whole story it had even more of an impact on me. Truly a masterpiece of a game. ❤
I love how the Master Sword looks in this game. The little detail that the top of the blade and the bottom of the blade are slightly different colors, and how you can still see the scarring left behind from Ganon's attack in the beginning of the game. It's a minor difference, but honestly I think it makes the Master Sword look really cool.
@@pimpjackson7494 Wind Waker I forgot to mention. Twilight Princess the story felt rush. I like the game just didn't feel invested in the story and how we're forced in every area to be wolf Link to clear areas out just to get to the dungeons. Felt restrictive.
Excellent story at the beginning - I came here because I felt like after 50 hours it was time to get the master sword. BUT, i am not finished with the geoglyphs...I have a handful left to get. I love the story so far so I will take (and appreciate) your advice and come back later. Awesome work Austin, as always.
When i first played through botw, i though nothing could get any better and then TOTK was announced. The story, the plot, Everything is just amazing and is why this game is just as good as was believed to be when it was announced :)
I remember my first time. I was climbing over hills and suddenly music started and the sky turned red it scared the hell out of me 😂 I teleported out there right away deciding the exploring could wait for later
When I met them first time, it was the one in a cave following the very first pointers in history, I killed from above using bombs just to get slapped by what happens next, obviously I died 😂 but killed it once now just to found out through a jump that those also revive after each red mon 😢😂
I experienced Gloom Hands a few times, I think. Actually, got hit by Gloom Hands while making my way through Korok Depths. And I beat them... with difficulty. Mostly by flailing. Wearing Lv4 armor, so I wasn't that badly off. The boss was just that, a second time. I swear, the bosses do not hit nearly as hard as random Silver enemies.
I'm very glad to say I did all the geoglyphs myself, and from those understood what happened to the master sword and on the way to the last tear, I found the sword and got it before the last tear Such a cool story, really has me more invested in the game
Yeah, but there is a story related place that requires 10 heart too, so if you don't want to exchange the Stamina/Hearts you need to have 10 hearts and 2 stamina bar to do the full story
Love the fact you put in time at the beginning to mention about your experience with the story being slightly spoiled due to looking for the master sword too early. I'll find the geoglyph and come back. Thanks dude.
Hearing the song when you pull the sword brought me right back to the first time I pulled the sword in Ocarina of Time. I was hesitant to watch this video cause I didn't want any spoilers (that's why I'm coming back a month later to watch all your "walkthrough" videos) but I was fortunate in that I did the tears quest long before I got to the Master Sword quest :D
Hey Austin. I don't normally watch the videos for legend of zelda but I'm here to say thank you. The videos you have made for multiple other games have helped me a lot. Don't let people get you down. Making videos for this games helps the community massively and it makes me happy that other communities can experience the massive effort you put into these videos and helping the communities you are in as a whole.
I actually got the master sword on complete accident, had no clue what the dragon did but saw it up high. I was at the north hyrule sky archipelago and right by the flux construct there was one of those platforms that hovers and stays at whatever altitude it was at and about 8 rockets. The rockets got me up close enough and along with tulin i could get to the dragon
I finally got all the geoglyphs 😭 Agree that I am a lot more invested in this story than I was in BotW. But I’m ready to get the master sword and now I’m back. Thank you for warning about spoilers for doing the sword first. You’re the best ❤️
Yeah like I’ve been on the dragon before finishing all of the tears but I didn’t have enough stamina. Now I have stamina but the dragon went higher and I can’t reach it
Like much in this game, you don't need to follow any questline to get the Master Sword; neither the Deku Tree one nor the memories one; just complete 20 shrines to get the second well of stamina, get on the dragon somehow, and pull it. Completing the memories gives you one chance to get atop the dragon without having to get to the upper sky, and completing the Deku Tree quest gives you a quest marker showing the dragon's position and makes the dragon fly much lower making it much easier to get atop of, but neither are needed.
Experiencing this on my own and not spoiling it by watching on UA-cam was the most fulfilling feeling I’ve felt since ghost of Tsushima and breath of the wild!
For those struggling with the deku fight: there’s a platform above the fight area that you can ascend to and abuse bullet time to kill the hands and ganon by repeatedly going up to the platform each time you land.
Epic game... maybe the best I've ever played. I spent over 240 hours with this one, and enjoyed every minute. Time to take a break from video games now. Well done Nintendo. John Austin your guides and videos were the best for took, hands-down! ...and thanks for not spoiling!
Here I am, 1 month later, 125 hours in, finally coming back to this video because I’m finally at the point in the game where they allude you to get the master sword…gotta love it ❤
This story is crushing. I have been a fan since the beginning and never had there been so much depth. What P.Z. went through is just insane. Behind every strong weak Link is a Strong Princess.
In my opinion Dragon's Tears quest is a great story. The story itself in this one quest on how it builds up, it out does any other Nintendo games story. Finding the tears is a hassle but well worth it. The last few cutscenes pull the heartstrings. Especially the cutscene before jumping onto the dragon's head and after obtaining the sword itself. Highly recommend doing the quest first if you love the lore and story of Zelda games instead of getting the sword right away.
I would argue that since Xenoblade is technically a Nintendo game, Xenoblade 3 has a better story. But this is definitely the most emotional Zelda story I've ever seen.
What I really really appreciate about your videos always is your care for spoilers. You can truly tell how authentic your love for these games are and the respect you have for the fans. Keep always making these great videos man
Just experienced this for myself and did all of this organically without watching the video first. Saved it for after the fact and I must say this story just took my breath away. I just sat there after the fact like wow. I hope everyone experiences this for themselves spoiler free also. Just wow.
You can actually get the Master Sword even without completing the quest from the Deku Tree. Just got mine now after completing the Dragon Tears quest 😊
@@timm14171 After completing all 11 geogylphs there is a final tear in the akkala on the swirl coast near a shrine. It shows up as the objective marker. Watch the final memory and once its done, the dragon roars and flies right above you. You can then easily get there via tower or even recall a piece of falling debris.
You dont need anything but a hover bike and enough battery to fly to the dragon, I accidentally found the master sword when I see the dragon so high up near the zonai forge sky island, hop on the hover bike and fly to the dragon in hope to get a horn but found the sword. But i think it would much harder to track the dragon since it fly very high.
I've to say knowing the true nature of the Dragon, the story of the Master Sword, gets me so bad. With the memory of Mineru, I refused to understand what was clearly involved in her words until this. What a great moment that makes this Zelda very special.
I honestly was very upset and kinda just dreading watching the memory because I had a huge hunch after I remembered that dragons were former humans, and that the light dragon had golden hair and was a light elemental. After I realized that Rauru's wife passed, I... got very sad because I knew what was going to happen next, or rather, I knew what had already happened.
@@LovelessFascinationbefore getting even half the memories, I just assumed that the Light Dragon was someone whom Zelda entrusted the Master Sword to (didn’t get it right away as I wanted all memories first). After getting the third memory, I started having hunches and doubts. Once I got the semifinal tear, I was in denial, thinking there’s no way she would go that far. One Spirit Temple and final tear later, I almost teared up, realizing how she made the ultimate sacrifice not just for Hyrule, but for Link as well. When I finally pulled the Master Sword yesterday, the whole thing had me crying on the inside so much that I almost shed a tear. Later today, I finally head out to beat the game.
Went looking for this video because I was excited about the Master Sword and I got the Hylian Shield super early with your help, SO glad i watched this and didn’t just go looking for it lol - I would have been super bummed to have the story spoiled because I haven’t done the quests. Now I now what to do next! You’re always the best Mr Austin John ❤
Came back to this video after finally going through all the glyphs, and all I can say is WOW. This game's Zelda is probably my fave Zelda now, and i love that the sword's new color matches the Light Dragon's horns
If you got ruined with that spoiler after getting the master sword I can’t imagined what you went through. That was a heavy one. So thanks so much for saving us from that disaster 🙏
Thank you Austin, i love the respect you have to players who want to go spoiler free and at the same time you show great regards for the game that had soo much work put into it.
I haven't done the glyphs and i got the sword. I was chilling in the sky and noticed the dragon flying near by, i thought id fly to it to try get a scale when i noticed the sword on its head. I don't think it ruins the story for me as i already could tell she was in the past but honestly it was all so exciting it makes me want to see the glyphs now. This game honestly has so many amazing moments in it
Same. I just did the same thing a few hours ago. Just saw a neat dragon with some pretty lights and I wanted to shoot it in the forehead. Then I noticed the thing sticking out of said forehead.
Same. I was at the top of death mountain and saw a dragon far above and decided to go get a horn piece. I got the sword and it ruined the story. Also, I wonder if I can still do the glyphs in order.
@@daniel.watching same we learned that in the temple of time when you put the master sword up and it went back in time before jumping off to the land below.
I’ve honestly never seen anyone on UA-cam tell me to add the video to their Watch Later. I genuinely like that, and I dig your vibe. I will come back, and watch after I finish the Geoglyphs. I’ll let you know how it goes. I mean that. It’s hard to sound genuine on the Internet nowadays lol
I actually did all of the geoglyphs and got the master sword before i went to korok forest. So i never knew about the mastersword moving on the map like that. Super cool touch!
Spoilers I really enjoy how you can figure out the twist of the game entirely through the environment. There were 3 dragons im botw, a 4th is in this game. Very early on I saw the dragon and immediately went to go up to it. You see the mastersword and the blonde hair, you put the puzzle pieces together in your head and boom. I don't think it ruined the experience of the glyphs at all. If anything, I'm glad they let you experience it like that cause no other game as environmental story telling like that. Very cool.
for me it started to click when the geoglyphs were named "dragon tears" and showed zelda's memories. a new dragon plus that info and i figured it out quite easily. still, getting all the glyphs and watching the story play out was incredibly emotional for me. i knew it was coming but i couldnt do anything to stop it
it’s such a good story, i remember going to each glyph and getting the foreshadowing and thinking “she won’t actually do it, right??” to spend thousands of years as a dragon, not remembering herself… all to get the sword back to link? jesus, man
@superkirby49 there is one memory very early (i think number 3 but i cant check at the moment) that hints toward zelda's ultimate decision, so i think going in order isn't too necessary. getting that master sword one very early could ruin it for some people though
So, this went absolutely terribly for me. I originally saw this video when it came out, took your advice, and went to do the Geoglyphs. By the time I figured out how to get into the forest, because I didn't know how, I had probably about 6 hearts and a full stamina wheel and hopped into the tree. The hands murked me a bunch of times because I didn't see it coming and didn't have any good food, but I figured out how to ascend the mushroom to make food with portable pots and kill the hands with bow time. Then the Phantom came out, which was terrifying because I hadn't seen it before, and it one shot me about 10 times. I warped out and proceeded to go do every shrine I could find to make some better gear for about a week now. And here I am coming back to the video because I am traumatized and afraid to go back with even 15 hearts and I want to be prepared. With me luck guys. Lol
BRO SAME!!! THIS IS THE THIRD TIME WATCHING THIS VIDEO FOR ME AND IM STILL SO SCARED. I think it’s just the music, so I turned my Tv all the way down and I’m gonna listen to Christian music to make me feel less scared laughing out loud.
@@crickety_3415 I'm good at it now. Lol Rocket Shields and multi-shot bows clap the hands. I use bombs on arrows a lot for that AOE. Phantom isn't that scary once you know the primary threat is the gloom on the floor and you can headshot him. Gloom armor makes it a lot better, and he isn't that hard to parry if you can fight Lynels.
Just did itt! After 7 attempts less quality weapons and armor… i was lucky enough to have the dragon be zooming by right next a tower. I just landed on it *pause* Easy peasy.. thank you for this guide!
Your intro was exactly what I was hoping to find and thank you so much honestly. I really wanted to know about the master sword and WHEN to get it, without accidentally stumbling upon a spoiler. In the first 2 minutes of your video, you earned a like and subscribe from me and I've already added this to Watch Later 👍❤️
That battle inside deku tree was definitely tough. I feel like I was only able to do it by cheesing it a little. I used a rocket shield to get a substantial bullet time (by the moment I came I had all 3 stamina weels) and I just bombed the sh*t out of that spawn from hell. When I ran out of bomb flowers I started using zonai time bombs. The battle with phantom Ganon was much more manageable. In my opinion the trick is staying close to him always hitting him so that no more gloom can form. After a few tries doing this I managed to win and saved my buddy deku tree
I remember in the 5th grade I used to watch your videos all the time for the best Zelda walkthroughs. Eventually 100% the game and I stopped playing for years. I’m in the 10th grade now, and I feel like that 9 year old again. Love your videos
I'm not going to lie this is my first time fighting the Gloom hands and Phantom Ganon and I just one-shot it. I say the easiest thing with the hands and everybody says that they hate them... but I guess the reason why it was so easy for me is because I have full Lynel weapons. :l
Note that you need two of every part of the light dragon for the champions Leather armor. It's a lot easier to get all these parts while its still highlighted on the map.
I did all the geoglyphs without even knowing about the master sword quest. I was actually heading to the final tear for the geoglyph quest and when I used the closest sky tower the light dragon just happened to be right there. I didn’t even realize what it was at that point. I just went for it and found the master sword. Then realized after that I was kind of supposed to finish that last tear before grabbing it.
For those wondering if you can get the master sword without doing the quests.. Yes you can, randomly saw the light dragon when I was hunting for sage wills and used rockets and air balloon to reach it since it's so up high.
But the master sword was not available, was it? It seems to me from watching different UA-cam videos that the sword only appears on the dragon if you know it must be there, whether revealed by the Deku Tree or with the dragon's final tear memory.
@@maspleben have you seen breath of the wild speed runs? a whole part of the game is somewhat being able to sequence break it and I think it also applies here too.
I fought the boss as soon as I knew how to get into the korok forest. I was instantly brought to one heart, but luckily I had good armor that made all the subsequent hits only do one heart. I got super lucky and beat it in one try. Great video!!
You know damn well I’m not watching this to learn how to get the Master Sword, I’m just watching it to see an epic tutorial. I am glad that I found it blind. And about the fight, it was totally awesome. No other fight thus far has made me say out loud, “Dude, this is actually just Dark Souls” so many times in a row
Yea, I grew curious to see if the Master Sword was in the Forest and was greeted with a nightmare fueled surprise. Stocked up on items and completed the quest line. This was easily the best Master Sword mission in the series. The reveal to where the Master Sword is, and pulling it, was insane.
The story is phenomenal. My only complaint is that I wish the Great Deku Tree was required before the last tear, since i saw that memory in the flashback before I even got the Master Sword quest.
Another way to get to the light dragon is to watch the final cutscene and the dragon will spawn really close by and near the ground and then start flying west. Then, as soon as you can, warp to the ulri mountain Skyview tower and use that to just glide onto the dragon. Also, does anyone have any tips for finding the light dragon again, after you've gotten the sword and everything?
the light dragon has a path following all dragon tears, you can teleport close to each dragon tear to find the light dragon that's what i did at least.
what the person above said is correct, and i would also recommend going counter-clockwise around the map, as she travels clockwise. you should run into her more quickly.
I think my favorite new thing that’s added to this game is the ability to ride dragons. I stay on the dragon while I do things around the house and it lights up every 10 mins or so letting me shoot it for parts and then teleport so I land on its back again. So much fun, and who doesn’t want a pet dragon?
A less hard way is make sure you have two full rings of stamina. Do all the geoglyphs and then you’ll be guided to a memory and easy access to the dragon, then pull it out. I didn’t have enough stamina so now I have no idea where it is.
Hey Austin, i actually got Ganon the first time !!!!!! am not a gamer like you and so many other, i only really got into playing games for hours with B.O.T.W and now TOTK. I decided to it hit Ganon with as many of the splash fruit as I could and also making sure I had lots to eat. I was literally jumping in my living so happy because I really thought it would take so so many tries for someone like me to get it. Thanks so much for all your help in all these video. God bless 😀
Thanks for everything man. I was able to launch myself from the tower right next to the dragon. Then used tulins ability twice and landed on it's tale.
PLEASE NOTE to make sure you have 2 stamina circles BEFORE watching the final memory in the glyph quest. At least in my experience, after watching that memory, the Light Dragon cutscene triggered causing the Light Dragon to appear in the Akkala region right next to me WITHIN SKYVIEW TOWER RANGE mostly. She was still slightly out of range for my stamina so I had to make a flying machine at the nearby sky island with the construct, but the point is that she appears right next to you and it's rather easy to get to her from that tower. So instead of having to start at the Great Sky Island and make a fancy contraption, everything you'll need will be in the Akkala region. I was able to try it, realize I didn't have enough stamina, go to Terry Town to pray, go back to the tower, and try again only to realize I was still one stamina upgrade short. I'm not entirely sure if she stays in the Akkala region after that cutscene until you fast travel away, or if she continues her normal flight path. It seemed like she was staying put as I was able to get on top of her twice from the skyview tower. Everywhere else I tried to get to her from a different skyview tower, I was a few meters just under her.
I was so proud when I figured this out by myself. I was just so curious about that new dragon I made a machine to get up to it when I had exactly 2 wheels of stamina. I got lucky.
Uh... I made this comment before I watched the video... And now I'm aware that I ruined the story for myself... Welp. I guess I'll go finish the geoglyphs :/
You should be proud, yes you ruined the story for yourself with specifically doing thing out of the intended order, but you got to experience being one step ahead of the story’s plot and that is also a worthwhile feeling. Think of it as know the ending in one the movies that show you it, but not knowing how you got there. And, well, that can make finding out the story even more enjoyable.
@@wqweqwet1804 If it was strictly unintended then there would be no way to get it unknowingly. But there is, so there isn't an order to this. What if someone watches the final tear memory first? It's not like they could have known.
I didn’t even go to deku tree and I somehow was able to get the sword after unlocking all of the glyphs. The cutscenes before and after obtaining the sword though…man heartstrings…
This is why we love video game moments like these the feeling you get is something that will never go away this moment will be with me forever Also austin you are a legend i feel there more mystery behind the sword do you think doing a video on explaining what it's damage actually is durability what best to fuse with it i think a video just on the master sword would be great
(THIS COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS) In Botw I had an outfit, Stealth pants, Zora Armor, Cap of the Wild, and also the Master Sword. My goal was getting all these things, so first I went to Kakariko village to get the pants, then I went to Zoras Domain and did the quests there, then I tried to find the master sword and did what anyone would do, went to the Korok Forest, I went in and saved it, and then I got the map marker for the master sword, at that point it was over Hebra so I thought it was in the giant cyclone and I started the Rito questline, then halfway through I noticed it had moved away so I went to try finding it, only to discover it on the head of the light dragon, I pulled it. (I also got the Cap of the wild later ;)) then I saw Zelda in the cutscene and went to Kakariko village for some reason, tried building a car and found an NPC talking about Impa investigating the Geoglyphs, so I did all of them in 1day. SPOILER AHEAD: As soon as I saw the Light Dragon I had a suspicion that it was Zelda, like I said "I bet that dragon is the Zelda"
Someone may have already told you this, but obtaining all of the tears will reveal the location of another tear at the Rist Peninsula. Collecting it will cause the light dragon to appear near you. To obtain the Master Sword, I went to the nearest Skyview Tower. I was fortunate to discover this information as I tend to be impatient. However, keep in mind that your experience may differ if you are searching for memories. Made with GrammarlyGO
This is how I got the master sword too. It was a bit of luck that I had enough stamina and had already unlocked the sky shrine above when I collected the Rist Peninsula tear. Based on the storyline I guessed that the sword was on the light dragon, so when it appeared I fast traveled up to the shrine and glided down to the dragon. Highest respect to the Light Dragon for bringing the sword to Link.
Okay, if you’re like me and still want the Master Sword, but don’t want the story ruined, simply skip the cutscene once it plays when you obtain the Sword. All the memories save to a list in your Purah Pad, so you can watch it from there once you’re ready!
I was able to get the Master Sword after getting all the Dragon Tears. Once the light dragon starts ascending. I actually used a Skyview Tower to go onto a sky island with Zonai Devices that allowed me to use rockets and gliders perfectly onto the dragon. It’s right near the cutscene and that swirl island area.

When I got the Master Sword, I did only one of the regional phenomena quests, about 5 of the geoglyphs memories, and exploring the map I went to the thunderstorm area in the sky. Without knowing, I started the quest for Mineru. After I completed it, I couldnt believe what the memories were saying. Instantly I remembered saw a silhuette of a dragon high up in the sky, then my brain put 1+1 together. Still didnt go there, but right after Minerus quest, I got the sword geoglyph memorie that explicit tells what was going on. That was the moment I couldnt hold myself. Build a flying cycle and using all my zonai charges I did fly up where the dragon was. 2000 meters up in the sky. When I pulled the Master Sword it was amazing. This game is magical.
Honesty after hearing you say it's a pretty hard fight i quickly saved my game and jumped down. AND AS SOON AS I SAW THE HANDS. I LOADED THE PREVIOUS SAVE AND GOT OUTTA THERE
This is one thing I like about this game, I had no idea that you 'had' to go to the great hyrule forest to get the master sword. I got Tulin, then just did all the memories. Just about to fight Ganondorf, but putting it off until I finish more of the shrines and side quests. Have yet to make itinto the forest, and only after I found a Korok by the Yansamin shrine that it was ever even mentioned.
Here is a spoiler-free guide on the geoglyphs: ua-cam.com/video/3D5NdDI6yNY/v-deo.html
I got the game early and when I found this for myself for the first this was really hard for me. I even kill the gloom hands using bomb arrows.

Bro fr this is the best comment I've seen, lmfao I've always picked up a rock and boom theirs a korok and then tosses the rock on their head 🤣
They deserve it. The ones with backpacks also deserve to unintentionally join the korok space program.
@@13vatraI have yet to launch any into the stratosphere. I did drown a couple though by putting them under the boat
I dropped one in the depths
I sent one to the wind temple and one to the fire temple lol
Those last few cutscenes leading up to obtaining the sword were absolutely amazing. I got goosebumps.
my jaw was dropped for those last few scenes. they were incredible! 100% worth it to do them in order, unspoiled.
I cried when the reveal hit. In a good way, but still y'know?
This story behind the quest itself is well worth the hassle of collecting the tears. I am glad I get to watch the cutscenes via memory log but damn the last two cutscenes hit hard but the very last cutscene before getting the sword pulled out hit the hardest.
Ok, I’m confused. Was the story ruined for Austin because he wasn’t able to view the memories of the geoglyphs? Or are we still able to view the memories of the geoglyphs after obtaining the Master Sword? :/
@Ade Aye sounds like he got the sword first, so it didn't have the same flow and buildup as watching the scenes in order
I must say this game really makes the master sword feel like THE master sword, no more silly little sword that isn’t important to the plot all that much. A true sword to seal away the darkness…
I agree
Keyblade?
That still runs out of power 🙄
@@JorgeRodriguez-xz5ec that’s because Nintendo wants people to use other weapons that isn’t just one or two singular swords like in other games

Stayed up until 3am getting the last few dragon tears and finally the master sword, and I cried for a few minuets after watching everything, it’s truly wonderful when a game can make you feel such emotions from a simple cutscene
This! Such an emotional scene.
Why did the devs do this
@@zup_dhowg9454 nooo that sucks man, sadly i was kinda spoiled on the whole dragon thing before i even got the game, but thankfully i wasn't spoiled on the memories themselves so i was still somewhat able to enjoy them
Dude I cried too. I just got the last tear
The massive reveal on how you obtain the Master Sword is one of the craziest moments in any Zelda game. Goosebumps all over.
I found it on accident because I was so fascinated by the new mechanic 😭😭 bahhahahah
So glad that Austin gave people that warning. I came to say the same thing.
You will not regret doing the geoglyphs before getting the master sword.
I literally just accidentally obtained it a few hours ago. Bad timing lol
@@brookejon3695 I got the sword first too. It’s not the end of the world and won’t ruin the game, I just feel like it would have enhanced the experience
I’ve been suggesting the same to my friends
you can get the sword before doing the geoglyphs?
@@meinman7591 ya. The Geoglyphs are totally optional. I HIGHLY recommend doing them though.
Getting the Master Sword in this game is probably the best moment I've had in the game. I already did all the geoglyphs but didn't realise they basically told you where the Master Sword was. I was just roaming around the world and stumbled across it. That moment will forever be engraved in my mind. Amazing game!
After I got I just sat there lol. Like I was shocked lol. Just happened about 30 mins ago lol
I think the dragon spawns randomly cause mine was like near the castle lol
The only difference is that if you do the Geoglyph quest first instead of saving the Deku Tree first, you don't get a quest marker.
And and and! You can see the hair pattern woven into the metal!
@@getmwiI can only imagine in the beginning Fi just completely f'd up like "damn this king got hands"

RIP to everyone who experienced gloom hands for the first time, utterly terrifying if you go in blind. 😂
I remember my first time. I was climbing over hills and suddenly music started and the sky turned red it scared the hell out of me 😂 I teleported out there right away deciding the exploring could wait for later
Bruh these are the best Floor Masters in the whole series
Honestly. Would love a guide on how to easily kill this enemy. Absolutely terrifying.
I'm very glad to say I did all the geoglyphs myself, and from those understood what happened to the master sword and on the way to the last tear, I found the sword and got it before the last tear
Such a cool story, really has me more invested in the game
Yeah, me too the very last actual tear I got after the master sword otherwise I got all the other ones beforehand
I like how it takes stamina not hearts now to pull the sword out.
Agreed
Makes more sense I think
here is a tip if you make a stanima potion (2 crickets 1 chu chu jelly)x2 then u can do it with 1.3 rings of stanima
Yeah, but there is a story related place that requires 10 heart too, so if you don't want to exchange the Stamina/Hearts you need to have 10 hearts and 2 stamina bar to do the full story
Considering I have all 3 rings of stamina and only have 7 hearts (1 from a story boss) Im very happy
“If you’re an absolute monster… I don’t pass judgement” LOL love you Austin, thanks for the awesome videos!
Thanks!
If you complete all the glyphs the dragon will show up very accessible near you for easier access. You don't necessarily have to do the Korok Forrest
Hmm really? Have to try it
welp to late now
Yeah I was very confused by this video. You just need all the glyphs and that's it. Master sword is yours to grab.
6 bomb arrows takes them all out which you can do in a single jump if you have the stamina

I really enjoy how you can figure out the twist of the game entirely through the environment.

@@endless_delI got kinda semi-spoiled because I did the glyphs out of order, going 1-2-4-10-11
@superkirby49 there is one memory very early (i think number 3 but i cant check at the moment) that hints toward zelda's ultimate decision, so i think going in order isn't too necessary. getting that master sword one very early could ruin it for some people though
@@endless_del It clicked for me as soon as Rauru's Sister brought up Draconification. I was just like "Yeah, that 4th Dragon makes sense now."

I came back with a vengeance after those hands murked me like 20 times 😂
The boss fight definitely was quite hard, but with the phantom armour from your tutorial, I managed to do it. Thanks Austin.
Dude… that final tear is just heart breaking. Especially with the item that spawns after it too.
Austin you a real one for this video intro. Thank you. I’m going to find Geoglyphs and I’ll be back.
I finally got the master sword. It was beautiful and I shed a tear :) so much more badass than botw master sword cut scenes :,)
Actually, the fight was more easy that I expected. I got it in my second try.
5:15 lets just say… it did not go well…
PLEASE NOTE to make sure you have 2 stamina circles BEFORE watching the final memory in the glyph quest.
Do you need 2 stamina circles in total or 2 extra (3 total)?

Just saying you coulda made stamina food
@@wqweqwet1804 Thx
@@wqweqwet1804 If it was strictly unintended then there would be no way to get it unknowingly. But there is, so there isn't an order to this.
What if someone watches the final tear memory first? It's not like they could have known.
3:20 for him to FINALLY get to the reason you clicked this video.
This warning for storyline is spot on. I also appreciate the reminder to "watch later." I'm back 12 memories later!
I didn’t even go to deku tree and I somehow was able to get the sword after unlocking all of the glyphs. The cutscenes before and after obtaining the sword though…man heartstrings…
This is why we love video game moments like these the feeling you get is something that will never go away this moment will be with me forever
Also austin you are a legend i feel there more mystery behind the sword do you think doing a video on explaining what it's damage actually is durability what best to fuse with it i think a video just on the master sword would be great
(THIS COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS)
In Botw I had an outfit, Stealth pants, Zora Armor, Cap of the Wild, and also the Master Sword.
SPOILER AHEAD:
As soon as I saw the Light Dragon I had a suspicion that it was Zelda, like I said "I bet that dragon is the Zelda"
AJP, bruh you are the best Nintendo content creator. I appreciate all your hard work. Please keep it up!
Austin thank you for the guide! I skipped the cutscene with Zelda so I can watch it later after I finish the geoglyphs.

Coming back to say getting the master sword was so amazing that I reloaded my save game to get it again today.
Not me watching after getting the master sword
Okay, if you’re like me and still want the Master Sword, but don’t want the story ruined, simply skip the cutscene once it plays when you obtain the Sword. All the memories save to a list in your Purah Pad, so you can watch it from there once you’re ready!
Does anybody else notice that when you fuse something to the Master Sword, Zonai letters appear on the blade? I wonder what they translate to?
I was able to get the Master Sword after getting all the Dragon Tears. Once the light dragon starts ascending. I actually used a Skyview Tower to go onto a sky island with Zonai Devices that allowed me to use rockets and gliders perfectly onto the dragon. It’s right near the cutscene and that swirl island area.
A warning to potential spoiler victims: Don't read the comments! Have a good day.
Im so glad i listened to you and did the glyphs first before watching this video
I really like the Emphasis on the phrase: *"AND WHY YOU SHOULDN'T YET."*
It was from left field like a tone if you were really upset.
Killed phantom ganom 1st try 4 Hearts almost no armor, just usted 2 royal guard bows and a stalnox sword
Thank you so much for starting your video like this 😁 I will go get all the geoglyphs first
Great explanation at the beginning, thank you. Done the geos now on to the sword! Really helped!
5:05 Lynow (or whatever it’s spelled like) bow shreds through hands and phantom Gannon if you have black bokoblin horns
Appreciate the up front info!
I've learned the patterns of the attack for the boss, so I was able to flurry easily.
Thanks for all the heads up and great video!
I really wanna just get the sword but this is my first Zelda game I’ll fully play tbh and you’re all being very convincing to finish the glyphs
