I have listened to this numerous times since my glioblastoma diagnosis over a year ago. Glioblastoma is something that Neil Peart and I will always have in common. I hope that I am facing it as bravely as he did. I always loved Neil's lyrics and I think this composition captures the spirit of them beautifully. Thank you Jacob.
The magic of RUSH music is that it is timeless and says so much no matter when you hear it and slowed down is even more powerful. The concerts in the 80's as a teenager were so impactful and some of the best memories.....the innocence slips away...time stand still...........

Gave me goosebumps and a little tear after reading your comment. Hard to listen to this cover and not think about Neil. RIP Professor! This is a beautiful rendition of Time Stands Still!
Me and my dad have always had a rocky relationship, but if we ever had anything to share, it was our love for Rush. Growing up, I’ve seen both him and myself grow in a thousand different ways, and every once in a while you want to freeze the moments, and love and appreciate them even more for what they are while they’re still there. Thanks for bringing a tear to my eyes, guys, and making those memories even more wholesome and meaningful. You deserve way more views than you already have.
Nice version of this classic song. I've loved this song for so long. Makes me think of my kids who have now grown and old friends. Original version by Rush played at a wedding for some amazing younger people we've known since they were children recently and its so fitting. Not to be maudlin but I want this played at my funeral.
I really enjoyed this cover. This is one of my favorite Rush songs and I can't sing it in Geddy's register but I can sing it in your register. Well done.
A wonderful cover of one of the most meaningful songs. "Summer's going fast, nights growing colder. Children growing up, old friend growing older." Nice work. Man, I miss these guys!
Yes, but remember, the earth is 4 billion years old. Just remember, You existed at the same time as RUSH. Exit the warrior RIP Neil Peart A big thankyou for good times on the road ❤🎸👍😎
Yeah that just shows how great melodies are often "buried" beneath layers of instruments and production. This, and "Subdivisions" cover are absolutely beautiful.
Damn, another cover reducing me into a sea of tears, and challenging me to don a reluctant smile to push onward without Neil's artistry in the world. This world is a less happy place now. However, Neil's legacy will shine all on its own, and for that I willingly smile on, wiping the tears away.
Listening to this cover again because: 1) The early digital download of ‘Tributes - Songs For Neil Vol. 3’, produced by RUSHfest Scotland on which this appears, was shared by Steve Brown on Thursday, Sep 8th; 2) Sep 8th was the 35th anniversary of Rush’s release of ‘Hold Your Fire’ in 1987; 3) ‘Time Stand Still’ is one of my favourites; and, 4) this is SOOO awesome! 🕰⏳🧍🧊🔥👏
Absolutely Beautiful cover I was very reluctant as a drummer and lifetime Rush fan when I saw acoustic no drums ... but once again the tears flow Rush would be proud RIP Professor Peart 💔🙏🤟

Hell's YES. RUSH has been my favorite band for forty years. Time Stand Still likely # 50 of their, what, 1,000 original tunes? Yet, it was pivotal to a major change in me life, son. Incredibly nostalgic, not just now, but in that moment. She's incredibly mellifluous and emotive. LOVE
I've always told my son, " Utilize what you know and the next step shall be given ". Find different ways of doing the same thing and you'll create something new. You took one of my favorite Rush songs to another level, thank you. That was awesome.

This is a beautiful performance in its own right, and also a tribute and honour to Geddy, Alex, and Neil. The song deserves to be heard this way just as much as the original, thank you for this.
Man, I'd almost kill for a karaoke version of this cover. Something with just some guide vocals on the chorus or something. What a great rendition of one of their greatest tracks.
I'm sure it can be done. Finding a karaoke MIDI file of the original version (which is available), dropping it down 3 semi tones from E standard to C# standard and slowing down the veolocity. Not 1:1 but we can get it close enough.
A friend of mine passed away unexpectedly this past Saturday, was a big Rush fan as I am he would have loved this as I did. Keep up the good work man!!

Such a beautiful version of this song. Regardless of which version of the song I’m listening to, I am always brought to tears. This song is just that powerful. Thank you.

As usual in terms of Neils lyrics. They are absolutely amazing.

Shows how deep Neil’s lyrics truly are. Well done!
Jacob, you took that to....the Moon?,....and back. Beautiful rendition.
Fascinating, hearing how Rush songs sound with "regular" vocals and mostly acoustic instruments. As much as i love Geddy, this is incredible.
Absolutely what I was thinking. They were great songwriters...
try to find ' Run For Cover' they did a rush tribute piece ( 5 or 6 man group) but the singinging sounds like what you said.

To catch my breath
Before I start off again
Driven on without a moment to spend
To pass an evening with a drink and a friendI let my skin get too thin
I'd like to pause
No matter what I pretend
Like some pilgrim
Who learns to transcend
Learns to live as if each step was the end(Time stand still)
I'm not looking back
But I want to look around me now
(Time stand still)
See more of the people and the places that surround me now
Time stand still
Freeze this moment a little bit longer
Make each sensation a little bit stronger
Experience slips away
Experience slips away
Time stand stillI turn my face to the sun
Close my eyes
Let my defenses down
All those wounds that I can't get unwoundI let my past go too fast
No time to pause
If I could slow it all down
Like some captain, whose ship runs aground
I can wait until the tide comes around(Time stand still)
I'm not looking back
But I want to look around me now
(Time stand still)
See more of the people and the places that surround me now
Freeze this moment a little bit longer
