The wall on Belarusian border has less to do with stopping migrants in general and more with stopping *illegal* entry into the country from that border. Countries like to have their border policies respected instead of being treated as a free transit corridor, which is what Belarus has presented us as to those migrants.

That’s not an error, we had USSR troops stationed in Poland, no legitimate elections as the opposition was imprisoned or threatened, and we couldn’t make any significant decision without calling Moscow. While on paper it was a satellite state, in practice that was occupation, or more adequately ‘owning’ Poland.

I just wanted to say that Poland has the most palanced immigration law ever ,I have a lot of friends who are also atheist , christians or modern Muslims all around Europe and they all say that it's way easier to legally migrate to poland than to migrate to other EU countries, and they say that they feel alot safer in poland than other places in Europe like Berlin London or Paris
it's because Poland accept people who are highly educated , people who came to Europe because they love this European culture and respect it( unlike the illegal migrants )
Poland give them legal roots to enter the countries and before that they must prove that they know , respect and love the polish language, religion, and history
It is because of these laws that encourage legal migration,that polan don't have the same problems as france and Sweden does

I emigrated to Poland through the Overseas Union of Poles. It is one of the long but reliable options. The process is structured in such a way that you only get the opportunity to emigrate legally if you prove your affection and love for Poland over many years. You will have to pass an exam on your knowledge of history, culture and Catholic faith. In Polish language, of course.
In this way, emigrants are integrated in an elementary way. They are motivated. And they have already invested a lot of effort, so they will try to continue to do good.
From the state's point of view, this is the most competent option.

@@papertowelthe6th105 Abroad, at least in the post-Soviet countries, the ideology of Poland is that it is just a fanatical country in terms of religion, i.e. everyone believes (and we were taught so) that on Sunday you will not see people in the streets. Because 100% of the population is in church.
In exams they ask how your family celebrates Catholic holidays and you have to describe absolutely correctly all the rituals, when how many dishes we cook, what we do on the Ascension of the Blessed Virgin Mary or on the Second Day of Easter. My relatives were sure that we would have a huge problem here because we are not religious.
In reality, people here are the same as in other European countries, some are religious, some were taken to church by their grandmother when they were children, and that's the end of it.
@wv13 Polish religiosity, much like it used to be elsewhere in the West (and still is in the Southern US), is almost completely superficial and is mostly an extension of simple nationalism. "I don't believe in Gid myself, but Catholicism is an essential component of being Polish" is a phrase under which most of the right wing populists would sign their names and it has a very long tradition. It's all just for show. That's what makes the incessant attempts at theocratizing the nation all the more revolting-because they serve no purpose except to advance political careers. Every one of the proponents of the abortion law would personally drag the fetus out of their underage daughters' wombs with a hanger in order not to be the talk of town how they raised a hooker.
Polish churches will be vacant in 20 years' time. Many people used to feel towards it a mix of respectful indifference and distance, but the PiS rule turned it into an open hatred.
The thing is that Poland took in so many folks from Ukraine that it seems weird that we get some quotas from eu and somehow these immigrants from UA are not included in the calculation.

The Migration Pact includes a paragraph that allows the European Commission to waive the quotas of countries that are experiencing mass influx of refugees from Ukraine. This paragraph was included mostly with Poland in mind.
have been living and working in Poland for almost 6 years and never have any bad experience, its not true that Polish people are anti migrants or racists. Its all about how you conduct yourself and respect the culture of a foreign land rather than imposing your culture.

For real just know english or polish if you live in big city, or polish if you live in small town and noone would have any issues. Any squabbles I saw between foreigners and Poles were mostly because of language barrier.

I didn't vote for PiS, but I'm wondering why people don't seem to distinguish between legal migration and illegal migration. There's a huge difference, which is why there is so much misunderstanding. Even in this video, you're talking about 'rhetoric' - nobody said that we in Poland don't want people to visit or work in our country. It's about how they cross the border and whether we have any legal tools in place in case such migrants start to break the law.

Of course it there is rhetoric - PiS has traditionally been using anti-Muslim fearmongering rhetoric (as in "they will come and rape our women"), and ironically, Donald Tusk outbid them with the same rhetoric by accusing them of bringing Muslims to Poland. This is why they so abruptly gave on the plans to facilitate visa processes. None of these plans had anything to do with illegal migration - they were about making it easier to process legal visa applications of people wishing to legally travel to Poland...

Just for the reference. I live in Wrocław, Poland and I would say half of the people I have contact with on daily basis are foreigners - predominantly Ukrainians. I work with Ukrainian, I go to one of 4 supermarkets around me and half of the staff there is Ukrainian as well as are the people shopping there, I go for a walk with my dog and there are walks when I only hear Ukrainian/Russian from people passing by or from kids on nearby playground, I order a ride or food and 80% of drivers/couriers are from Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Belarus, India. In my closest neighborhood I have mixed families and I myself am married to an American. Tell me more about how Poland needs to accept more immigrants 😅

We in our country have never got such a crime in law, Homosexuality have never been illegal. For example in Germany homexuality depenalization was finalized in 1994 and last inprisoned left german prison in our XXI centuary. Its true that we not admire this way of life as a whole society, but it's not mean that there is intolarance, no one attacks gay clubs. Our capital city Warsaw is full of them. In "modern ramadan for liberal" i mean "gay pride" month there is many parades - there are not attacked. IMO opinion we are modest country we didn't hate gay in past like western country did, now we don't admire them, we keep to be in center not going into extreme.

Sure every country has the right to protect its borders, but in the EU every country needs to work on a solution for illegal immigration. If every country in the EU would act like Poland there would be a lot more corpses in the Mediterranean Sea as there already are. Representing Germany and Italy as societal unsafe countries is misleading.
@@maximilianbuschmann7372 not really, you don’t have to push them into the sea, just take them on shore, evaluate if the immigration claim is legitimate, if not deport them. The problem is with western europeans, who refuse legitimate asylum seakers. But legitimate asylum seekers and refugees are a relatively small number.
We dont want in PL situation like in France where guests hate the host country. We pay high taxes and require safety first.
Generally a good report, but:
1. While 10 of the countries listed are (off the top of my head) Muslim majority, 8 aren't.
2. It can't be understated how many Ukrainians Poland has taken in, not just since last year, but since 2014. The 5 biggest cities all have 20% +/- Ukrainian minorities. I don't know how this allocation mechanism works, but I can see why Poland wouldn't want to be allocated additional immigrants on top of the large numbers they already take.
Edit: I originally said 10 were non-Muslim majority, but I was mistaken. And Nigeria is pretty evenly split too.
As for the demographics in Poland, most of the figures available are from mid 2022; from my own observation, there's still a considerable number of Ukrainians in Polish cities like Wrocław and Kraków.
Mass immigration is never a good idea but skilled immigration is required although the voter base of the current party will think differently even with legal immigration, lets be real here would they know the difference between a brown person from India or latin america and a middle eastern guy? For them they are all the same. Ukraine immigrants say that they will return home now but if the war goes on for too long they will just settle in their host countries and move on with their lives. That will also affect some people no matter how close you are culturally with another ethnic group it still causes tension.
They only accepted them because they were white. No other reason. I remember comparing the situation of accepting Ukranians, to when they were against any and all brown folks because of hatred or random conspiracy theories.
I only count 7 non-muslim majority countries on the list. Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Moldova. Which other 3 countries are you counting? Nigeria is quite evenly split between Muslims and Christians, however Muslims are slightly above 50% with Christians being about 43%.
@@sobhansarthak6000acctualy it's not that hard to know if the person is Ukrainian. Even most of them can speak Polish, they have quite strong accent. Personaly, i know one guy, who is Ukrainian and speaks Polish and i would not necessairly know at the beginning where he is from.

It's not that hard of a concept to swallow
That's true. The real question is how to differentiate between the two groups and what you do with illegal immigrants once they are at your border.
Easy, legal immigration is immigration accepted by the country you are arriving at. Not EU, or international organizations, which work for wealthiest countries, like Germany. As for immigrants at the border, it's tough but they should be a responsibility of country from which they came, if you cannot secure your borders then you need to accommodate your illegals, and send them home at your own expense.
Immigrants who make riots and terrorist attacks in Western Europe countries arrived there legally too. At least their ancestors did. Those countries accepted them massively, also from Muslim countries. This is the beginning of immigration to Poland, in 10, 20, 30 years Poland will face the same problems as Germany or France face today.

Poland likes hardworking and smart migrants who are willing to integrate into polish society, by learning language, obeying laws, paying taxes. And it's regardless of their race and religion. By doing that Poland guarantees bright future for itself.

This video made quite a few erroneous statements, first Poland built that wall on the Belorussian border due to Lukashenko's antics, which brought in a lot of Syrian immigrants on false promises of easy access to the EU via Poland, if anybody should be blamed for that whole fiasco its strictly Lukashenko only.
Second Poland did not "regain its independence from the USSR in 1991" as the video claimed, Poland was never part of the USSR post WWII like say Estonia was, it would be more accurate to say Poland was quasi-independent under the Soviet yoke and Poland regained its full independence in 1989 (which it did so even before the fall of the Berlin Wall) in large part thanks to the Solidarność and then subsequently had its first free elections since pre WWII in 1990.
Third the vast majority of Poles are not against immigration in principle, they are however against immigration of individuals who have no intention of integrating into Polish society and likewise do not wish to see the rise of ethnic ghettos like you see in the UK, France, Germany, Sweden etc.
Hence why they had no problem taking in so many Ukrainians as war refugees or Belorussians political refugees, as they would have very little trouble integrating into Polish society due to the similarities in culture and they were likewise legitimate refugees according to treaties upheld by the UN.
Conversely asylum seekers can be denied entry should they be perceived as a threat to either national security and or public order, which in multiple cases especially those persons coming from north Africa and Syria, has occurred in other nations such as the aforementioned ones above, thus Poland has every right to deny them access based on the 1951 Convention and the 1967 Protocol regardless of what the EU says.
If you migrate to Poland be prepared to work as hard as Polish people do.

Hungary also has very open immigration policies, it is one of the easiest EU countries for Chinese nationals to move to and live in.
The keyword is that no one wants "Illegal" immigration. Since 2014 most V4 countries are a broken record saying that there is nothing wrong with immigrants, but people making their way into the country by breaking the law won't be tolerated. It is a perfectly reasonable hill to die on, but it always get misrepresented as general bigotry.
Because it is why does it matter where they enter. Do think those countries let people drown in the Mediterranean because of bureaucracy?
@@jasonweitzel4393 No one let's people purposefully drown at sea. You can't go out and save people if you don't know they are out there and you can't keep an eye on the sea at all times. Every time a ship spots a boat they pick up the people. Just because the Italians decided that the people should be dropped off in North African doesn't mean they let them drown at sea.

I have been in Poland for more than a year.
I can say that Poland only allow in legal migrants, regardless of religion.
I met muslims in there, but they were very decent people with high education or studying at university while working full time.
So, basically Poland is taking the best from eastern europeans, central asian and muslim countries.
Because of that safety in Poland is very high and there are no issues with migrants, leading to more integration and acceptance of people towards migrants.
The only immigrants that Poland is taking as refugees are from Ukraine as they are easy to integrate and is not taking refugees from Africa or Middle East as Poland doesn’t want to have the same kind of issues France has.

I live in Poland for multiple years. I am a foreigner, so a migrant, a regular one with one of those Permits (Karta Pobytu) you talked about 6:10 circa, you can count me in those numbers you have been talking about.
Despite me not liking PiS and disliking them completely (add to the list all of the right leaning parties here in Poland, from PO to former Konfederacja), you have to be extremely blind not to have spotted that Poland (and not just the big cities, literally everywhere) over the last 10 years got millions of migrants.

The only fact Poland wants to accept people arriving here with a LEGAL scheme, and not because of some imposed quota, or because of a result of a Hybrid Warfare (like the one Belarus provoked in 2021 by RANDOMLY OPENING FREE VISA ROUTES to Middle Eastern people and pushing those forcibly to the border), is NOT mind blowing. It's the ABSOLUTE NORMALITY as it should be EVERYWHERE.

People often forget several facts when discussing Poland:
1) Poland was often very metropolitan and welcoming of foreigners throughout its history, having contact with both the French aristocracy and Russian boyars.
2) Poland has also historically been very tolerant and because of that had one of the largest Jewish populations of Europe, because other "better" Western nations would often persecute them, so many aspects of Polish culture can be found in Ashkenazi Jewish culture. This is also another reason why the Holocaust death camps were built in Poland, nearest to big populations, and not other places like Hungary.
3) Most young people extremely dislike this modern right PiS party and some of their Euroskeptic tones... but let's not forget that Poland took most of the Ukrainian refugees during the Crimean crisis in 2014... yet Western nations didn't complain that Poland took too much until Poland was asked to take Syrians shortly later... while others didn't take any Ukrainians.
Now, tell me, which country is again taking care of Ukrainians the most right now, again?
Don't forget to add that Poland (the 1st Rzeczpospolita) was more or less the foundation of the modern idea of religious tolerance. I think even Thomas Jefferson, who pushed for separation of church & state in the USA has cited the Warsaw conference as an inspiration. It was really a pity in my opinion, that the Rzeczpospolita was eventually partitioned by imperialism forces, which is not only a loss for Poland, but the world, as it's a loss to imperialism for commonwealth-ism. Which I believe if the latter have been the mainstream, humanity can have avoided much more tragedies.
One unusual opinion on the sentiment of the likes of the PiS, and the Euroscepticism in modern Poland politics in general. I am not Polish, don't really even speak or understand Polish (am Chinese but live in America currently). But you can say that I'm somewhat involved in the Polish communities here. I'm a great fan of Polish food, drinks, music, history, etc. And I think the Polish people are more or less, openly or subtly, extremely proud of that. But unfortunately from my experience they are mostly only a 'secret' of the Polish communities themselves. While on the other hand, the 'modern' culture of other nations, particularly Western European & American, along with others, are increasingly popular among Polish, especially the younger ones. And I think not only have I met Polish people, especially the younger ones, who claims to like non Polish stuff better, many of them claim that many if not most of their Polish peers are like that. Also, for example, while the Polish people are increasingly well educated in English, as well as other popular 'international' languages (I know many Polish ppl nowadays are quite good in German, Spanish, French, etc.), I don't see Polish as a remotely popular choice for foreign language to learn outside of Poland, at least from my experience. And yes while I might be a little 'too sensitive' on this, I wouldn't be surprised, and might even relate a little bit, given what I've seen, if there are people (particularly the more 'nationalistic' or 'patriotic' ones) in Poland who might be a little concerned about the future of the Polish culture & heritage, and it probably is those sentiments that give the likes of the PiS party a big market in modern day Polish politics. At least it could be a significant contributing factor in my mind.

One thing about illegal immigration is it’s not just people crossing the border illegally. In the US most illegal immigrants are people who came here legally and just overstayed their visas because they started building a life here. The US legal immigration system is just broken so I am sympathetic to such people. Forcing people to leave so they can come back later is just inefficient.

I am a Qazaq from Qazaqstan, living in Poland since April 2023, I'm 32 and have quite an experience living, visiting many countries.
I must say that I'm in love with Poland, it's incredible, beautiful, wonderful country.
I live in Warsaw, the city is so good, as a father of 3 year old kid, I can confirm that it's one of the most comfortable cities I've ever been to (I've been to 87 to be precise).
Warsaw is so green, has very good public transport, offers you everything a modern city should: restaurants, schools, kindergartens, entertainment, parks, nightlife, etc.
I am a relocated specialist of an American company, so I know the taxation, salaries, etc.
I was shocked at first how Warsaw is affordable, even amidst the high inflation everyone is talking about, everything here is much cheaper than in Almaty (Qazaqstan), except for services simply because the labor is much more appreciated than in Kazakhstan.
In comparison with Western Europe, Warsaw is clean, way much safer, much more affordable.
Of course, the wages are lower than there, but the costs of living for the standard of living is quite good. You can afford living here and not surviving like in US, for example, where you work all the time.
On top of that all, Poles are kind and lovely people, who love their country and treat it darely.
I am really happy for the opportunity the life gave me of living here, and so proud of what Poland has achieved since late 1980s. It's truly remarkable.
As a Pole I'm very happy you like it here! Must say I'm not suprised, I'v met only few Quazaqs but always got along from the start like there was some unspoken mutual understanding of things. Ok sure but maybe start with putting people responsible for that massive mismanagement and smugglers answer for what they did. My country, Germany, should do the same. We have the same demographic issues and are in need of skilled workers from abroad. Unfortunately there seems to be little will from the people to make that a reality, as a lot of people see immigration as a bad thing, especially after the French riots. A lot of anti immigration politicians also fail to differentiate between skilled migrants, who are way less likely to cause any trouble like the French riots, than poor migrants that come here to seek asylum.

I can speak from experience, I was born and grew up in Germany but my family is from Persia.
My aunt has learned German, had found a possible home and nearly had a job pre-arriving but yet, she didn‘t get accepted.

People are talking about immigrants like an homogenous group. Countries like to have educated people, and it depends on a company whether it wants cheap, uneducated labor or qualified professionals. From point of view of citizens, it is never a good idea to take in too many immigrants from a different culture.

There is a difference between legal immigrants and illegal ones. In Czechia we have huge Vietnamese community and they are wonderful people, never met a bad Vietnamese person in my life. Basically Poland does not want migration to be forced on them by the EU, they want it on their terms, and in a legal fashion.
Please do not forget the Polish Tatars who live in Poland to this day, their religion is Islam, we respect them and they respect us , their great-grandparents fought for Poland.
And this is an example of respect, they came to Poland, settled and fought for their piece of land, not like those Muslims that the left and the EU are pushing on us, who flee instead of fighting for their country and for a better life.
Most of these Islamic countries listed are either wealthy countries where a huge chunk of people don't take religion that seriously or are secular countries where religion also isn't as important.
Many of the listed ones are also post USSR countries where most people know Russian, which would make it easier for them to learn Polish as it's another Slavic language. It also weakens Russia as it makes the skilled people there more likely to go to Poland instead of Russia.
This is not true of the countries in the Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan. The governments there have pretty intentionally popularized a more fundamentalist sect of Islam and Pakistan an outright radical one. Obviously there probably still is a large portion of not so religious people and or atheists, but they definitely have to hide it in those countries. Countries like Turkey have a rather liberal sect of Islam that is akin to Christianity in most western countries, so very liberalized. Hopefully other muslim countries start becoming more liberal like they did post ww2, but looking at the dictatorships running them now, it's not likely.
The Russian point is just like what i thinking. I thing the most severe form of "punishment" for Russia is to let their main economic engine m, skilled/educated people, to immigrate to Poland. Poland will get economic boost while Russia will fall into oblivion.

Countries in the East of Europe have long suffered from ignorance and being forgotten, despite their historical role in shaping European history. To be fair, Eastern Europeans have a fascinating way of how they deal with migrants. They do welcome migrants, although these migrants will be checked constantly. Some migrant groups are favoured over the others, though, such as Vietnamese, Korean and Ukrainian migrants; while Middle Easterns and North Africans are constantly viewed with suspicion, for examples.
Still their dissimilar mentality is something the West and North of Europe needs to emphasise. It's necessary for the histories, politics, economics and societies of countries from the East of Europe to be studied and understood.

Coming to an understanding that Poland has went through a drastically different medieval, early modern period and 20th century than France for example is something that informs why they are a lot more wary about Russia than Western European countries for example. Whenever there's a talk about Рoland on any Ukrainian radio or TV, every speaker highlights that Рoland has accepted A LOT of Ukrainian refugees and isn't particularly keen to simply let them go back.

As a Pole, I can say that I support migration to Poland, BUT I absolutely dont agree with illegal immigration. For the last 10 years, Poland has moved from a country of emigrants to country of immigrants. Walking along the streets of larger cities, such as Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, you can often hear languages from around the world, more often than Polish. According to data in 2011, pension contributions were paid by 80,000 immigrants, if we add students, people working on other contracts, children of immigrants, or people who worked illegally, there were about 200,000 immigrants. In 2021, the number of immigrants who paid pension contributions increased to 1.1 million - a huge increase, over 1100%. Currently, 4-5 million immigrants live in Poland. Despite the ever-increasing number of immigrants arriving in Poland, crime continues to fall year by year. All this shows that immigrants are not the problem, but migration policy. Immigrants arriving in Germany or France expect only social benefits. Immigrants coming to Poland want to study, work, earn money, start families and so on. In addition, Poland is currently in a situation where it is forced to attract as many immigrants as possible. At the moment, the demographic dependency ratio in Poland is 39%, forecasts say an increase to 44% in 2032, unless another 2.75 million immigrants come to Poland. Is it doable? Absolutely yes. Poland has one of the lowest fertility rates in Europe. I believe that even a sudden improvement in the world's financial situation and security (e.g. the war in Ukraine) will not significantly improve this trend. Poles simply start to take care of themselves, focus on development and career. I'm 20 myself and I'm not thinking about having a child, will I decide when I'm 30? I don't know, I doubt... That is why demography in Poland is currently the biggest problem, the Polish economy is developing dynamically, but without hands to work, this growth will sooner or later end. Many of my friends run companies and it is very hard to find an employee, even offering an attractive salary. Let's hope that countries such as France, Germany and Sweden will finally take up migration policy and start taking care of their own good... After all, we are Europeans and we should face everything together.

Large immigration always causes friction between people who completely cut themselves off from culture, ways of moving away from and values. The Vietnamese are a really hardworking community in Poland and there is no problem with them. Now we have a large immigration from Asia to Uber Eeats and Glovo. The second group consists of people who came to Poland to work in a shared services center as a global bank or corporation. If the standard of living in Poland increases, the corporation will have to find another stable and reliable country with low wages. Now they are trying to find cheap workers in Asia and move them to Poland, if that is not enough, they will move abroad. Part 3 is migration from Ukraine, which has been at war since 2014. Germany has been able to integrate their Muslim population relatively well, so has Finland, Sweden, New Zealand and Portugal. In those countries Integration has been more successful than not by a good amount, but since the instances of non integration is most newsworthy, it is not in the peripheral. I think sometimes people forget that governments are also responsible for integrating new populations. The US is also a shining example, being able to essentially make their muslims essentially liberal muslims, which many in more fundamentalist muslim countries would call haram, but which should be an inevitable change when integrating into western society. Integration is arguably a larger responsibility of the governments accepting them rather than vice versa, especially when speaking of mass immigration.

This often causes that he has no respect for the law and the country he came to. They deliberately put them in suburbs away from their middle class voters. And also, it´s far from a disaster even then, most French cities are pretty peaceful, not everywhere is like the rough suburbs of Paris or Marseille and you can find plenty of all White French towns that are run down and crime ridden. It´s as if socially excluding people causes more crime.
Also, it´s worth noting that crime generally throughout the West has dropped since the 1960s.The point in France is that they were deliberately excluded. And actually the situation isn´t as bad as people like you think. If you go to any French university or company, you will find people of different ethnic origins working there.
The same in the Netherlands and Germany, they are very diverse countries and lots of people are successfully working in lots of different areas.

As a Pole, let me explain to you the approach of the vast majority of us. First of all, almost no one except far-left radicals wants uncontrolled, illegal immigration in our country, for a simple reason: We don't want any criminals, illiterates, or veterans of wars, i.e. people who would makes any problems. Secondly, it is considered extremely shameful for young men to flee conflict regions and leave women, children and the elderly behind. During the World War II, many Poles found refuge in former British colonies like Iran or Kenya, but old people, children and women stayed there, and men were drafted into the army and thrown to the front to fight against the Nazis. That is why for example Syrians or Afghans who left their families in war-torn countries and went to Europe themselves are perceived badly by Poles.
Generally, if someone is smart, intelligent, hard-working, wants to pay taxes here, adapts to our culture and learns the language, then he or she is completely accepted.
But I would also mention two other factors, that have to do with immigration reluctance. The first is an aversion to cultures that assimilate very poorly and try to impose their laws or religion - Muslims might be a great example here. The second is the reluctance to accept too many men. Not many of you probably know, but in the last census, we have a huge surplus of single men over single women, which is 1.1 million (we have 5,3 mln single men and 4,2 mln single women in reproductive age). This is mainly due to the fact that for almost 20 years of presence in the EU, Polish women were more willing to associate with citizens of the wealthier countries of Western Europe. In the provinces, in small and medium-sized towns, you will find mainly single men who do not want even more competition and who in turn support far right or right-wing parties.
Maybe the Poles looked at the rest of Europe and said “NO THANKS”.

Poland is being perfectly consistent: they want educated people who will probably integrate in a few years, learn the language and find a regular jobs.
Most so-called asylum seekers (with exceptions) are really economic migrants who look for a better life. Unfortunately they are often uneducated and unwilling to integrate.
It's worse then that afaik. Imagine you come from a tribe or clan based society. The values you were thought at home are adapted to the lifestyle of a semi-nomadic herder, living in a semi-feudal oligarchy, but some ppl have smartphones they imported from weird aliens. You got one too, cause they're not *that* hard to get, and they were intentionally made to be as simple to use as possible. Western Europe's problem is not that it has a bad immigration policy. It's that it doesn't have one at all. And on top of that the French are getting their comeuppance for Algeria, because they thought that if they forgot about the past, others would too. And so the Algerians did pretend to forget, as long as the money was good; as long as the incentive was there to pretend. As soon as it spotted, they suddenly remembered and now everyone is making a Pikachu face. And yeah, they do get generous welfare all things considered. No one who is serious and can count two fingers in front of his eyes compare asylum seekers with legal immigration. Because it’s merely a loophole for illegal economic immigrants whom, different to legal immigrations, don’t have to justify anything other than providing a loosely credible story, sometimes even impossible to verify, like sexual identity (how do you determine if someone is gay?, this have been known since decades as an impossible task and when they “tried” they embarrassed themselves with stupidity, as you can’t). Asylum seekers have plenty of organizations (plus the criminals who also promote the bonanzas of Europe and work in secret tandem with the former) that help them play the system, it’s not like all they do is drop into Western countries just like that.
Thus saying that asylum seeking is “legal” is just rhetoric, not reality.
Poland needs as much immigrants as all European countries but this doesn’t change the fact that when a huge immigrant population enters a country, stresses the whole system but especially affect the poorer who have to share and compete with foreigners (the rich not only don’t see the difference on their services, if anything, they also have cheaper and plenty of labor to choose from for their needs).
But there is a cultural factor that also affects any country that decides to bring waves of people: if these are from neighboring countries or from countries whose identity is easily assimilable with the locals, this poses a low risk. Lower than those whose whole worldview is not only completely different but antagonistic to the locals. The latter is what happens with people from Muslin countries don’t get along with Humanist values (to say the least) let alone with the woke, delusional extremist values (that only coincide in their tribalistic view of things).

Imagine seriously making that argument to ppl who remember when what was legal was whatever a totalitarian, foreign imposed puppet government said, regardless of any local's best interests, and who's grandparents remember a time when reporting a Jew to the authorities, so they can kill him and his family, was not only legal, but not doing it was itself illegal and carried a potential death penalty for you, and whoever was found to may have been tangentially involved, because group responsibility. Sweden, France, the Netherlands and Germany are all doing pretty well, it´s countries like Poland and Hungary that actually aren´t so great.
The problems that exist in France, are because the Gaullist French government in the 60s actually deliberately segregated the immigrants from the Magreb. They deliberately put them in suburbs away from their middle class voters. And also, it´s far from a disaster even then, most French cities are pretty peaceful, not everywhere is like the rough suburbs of Paris or Marseille and you can find plenty of all White French towns that are run down and crime ridden. It´s as if socially excluding people causes more crime.
Also, it´s worth noting that crime generally throughout the West has dropped since the 1960s.The point in France is that they were deliberately excluded. And actually the situation isn´t as bad as people like you think. If you go to any French university or company, you will find people of different ethnic origins working there.
The same in the Netherlands and Germany, they are very diverse countries and lots of people are successfully working in lots of different areas.
It´s this black and white view that´s so ridiculous, a) yes there are problems but b) it doesn´t mean it´s a constant war out there. C) A lot of the problems were actually intentionally caused by the French government.

I have lived in France, on and off, for over a decade, sometimes in good, sometimes in bad neighborhoods, and the bad ones are 100% worse than bad neighborhoods in Poland, no contest, sorry. And it does seem to be because of mismanaged immigration policy, at least in the case of metropolitan areas. There also 100% IS a glass sealing for non-whites in French companies. Not all, but enough that it is noticeable. I never said there is a constant war out there so I'm not gonna even address that. Everyone so many to mention for years, for instance when there was a night of debauchery in Germany when women were assaulted, quite close to the famous "one million can come" from Angela Merkel.
Whatever the history of how the did it and why the did it (like in France) the damage is done, and it's not about "space" but integration and assimilation into a unified culture with the same values. The recent riots and general destruction in France (one in so many, many, many ones along the years) doesn't speak of a estable society in harmony. And causes (that I mentioned) the rise of parties on the right whose goal is to reaffirm local values over seemingly extremist foreign values.
And let's not begin with how the whole of Europe react when some Muslim or their descendent commit an act of religious extremism with many (many, many) dead, from Britain to France, from Spain to Germany. Every time someone draws an inconvenient comic about Islam or Muhammad, the whole of Europe braces for possible retaliations.
Hence, all of Europe's people, is moving towards the right when it comes to immigration. Because it's something that when it's not done right on so many, many aspects, provoke many problems. From the countries of origin of the immigrants (integration and assimilation is not the same with people from similar cultural backgrounds or at least ones from countries where people is willing to adopt local's values that from those where there is VERY STRONG ethnocentric values, especial ethnoreligious one).
From Greece to Sweden, from Finland to France, from Germany to Spain, people no longer buys the left leaning recipes of denying the problems and yet reducing all the problems with purported empathy.
Demographic problems are and will still be there, from low natality to an aging population, but those who come not only don't have the solution, they come with new problems with themselves from their own countries perspectives and worldviews.
They will become those of Europe, tribalism can and will emerge as many migrants views are not compatible with Humanism, let alone with those of the woke toxic left (that even if lowering in numbers have "won" the media and the de facto ideological dictums of many media with some institutional and legal enforcements).

Poland is eyeing my country for migrant workers and possibly allowing them later for immigration. US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hongkong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia are already benefiting from them. It kinds of late for Europeans to discover their Asian Partners that already in partnership with them for centuries, which is the Philippines, a Constitutional Republic, under Secular Government, a Liberal Democracy, a Catholic-majority Country with significant Protestants and Evangelical Minorities.

You need to do come up with a system, write policies and apply them as laws, set up bodies that will evaluate whether or not the policies are working as intended, correct them when needed, do some kind of checks on what the applicants claim in their forms... "Open border, profit" sounds a lot easier AND it gives you virtue points among your electoral base who won't get hit by the worst issues produced by such an approach. When it comes to migrants Poland is trying to employ same strategy as Australia or New Zealand, meaning migrants are welcome but we decide who is coming and we choose who is needed and we check the criminal background of all applicants, not Germany or eu.
