Podz is showing signs of being the next Larry Bird, without the mouth and the ego. His Bball IQ, court awareness, completeness of his game on both ends of the court and uncanny ability to be in the right place and the right time is astounding for a kid his age... or for anyone at any age for that matter! His presence and skill set on the court is not as obviouis as was Bird's, nor is he as flamboyant or charismatic, but this kid not only gets the job done every night, but he exceeds expectations and makes a serious contribution to every win he participates in. Goodbye, Dray, Hello Podz.

As i look more at him… he has this one peculiar left handed shot where he looks like he is bringing the ball up for a jumper…. But the ball just keeps going up and transitions into a shot that looks like an underhanded hook shot mixed with a scoop shot. This catches defenders off guard because they are getting ready to contest the expected jumper

1 he is only 20 and still on his 1st year as a rookie

Podz is resurrecting Klay's career by passing the ball to Klay when he's wide open. Podz has been drawing attention from defenders and that leads to improved spacing.
With Draymond at PG, defenders prefer to double-team Curry and Klay and not even guard Draymond because they know he wants to pass the ball.

This is the first rookie I've seen fresh out the gate ready to contribute in a long time. He's a keeper. After Poole tho, I'm hesitant to pump up a player because I don't want it going to their head. He's already a better defender than Poole. I'm curious to see what his ceiling can be playing for the Dubs. I think it's a possibility of being as high as an athletic version of a Jason Kidd but I don't like to put labels on young players.

I was hoping that we would get a reasonable replacement for Donte DiVincenzo. Someone who is an underrated left-handed hustler-shooter, with excellent defensive awareness. Yet we actually got an upgraded version ...AND... he’s a rookie. That means his ceiling is presently unknown (limit untapped). Plus, the young dude is MATURE and brings an already stratospheric basketball IQ. I also made the comparison to gary payton 2 and ty jerome. Defensive instincts and hustle with passing moxie. What sets him apart from those 2 is his level of offensive play.
Whats going to set him apart ultimately is whatever hes learning from chris paul. Because the way hes playing he arguably should be the backup pg but here is already starting and doing all the little things that lead to winning.

I love Podziemski and his game and the Warriors have been my team since I was a kid, but.... I do not respect his flopping. It makes him look bad and shows he has no honor. A true warrior has honor and when I see him act like he got hit in the face and fall on the ground, it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth and he should be fined. I hated Kerr as a player growing up because he flopped all the time, same with Jeff Hornacek. I think if a player acts like he got hit in the face and the replay shows he did not, he should be fined a significant amount. It is cheating.

Can we just let guys be who they are without giving them a false expectation that has ruined potential above average players . You build him up like this, it gets in his head, then when not playing to the expected standard of what we thought he can be, he believes he's a failure, when in reality, he's Good, just leave it at that, and see what happens, We are always trying to find the "next big star" . Other teams don't have footage on him yet, he's coming out of nowhere, Curry is making him better like he does everyone else around him, let's not make another Poole situation here, come on

Expectations never ruined anybody great. Expectations only bother weak people. They need to be weeded out anyway.

I see what you’re saying but expectations is what motivates great players to be better. Whether that be high or low great players will work hard to surpass them.
