@@alexg6336 Well Simrail come from a real simulator, so the physics is pretty good 👍 There's for exemple a spring effect when you hit to hard on the brakes when running a freight train. I think Simrail can compete with Run 8 physics wise 🤔
Searchlight Simulations and JointedRail always packing that heat. Shoutout to SS and JR for making Train Sim Classic better than DTG could have ever made it.
I like how SS, along with maybe 1 or 2 other devs actually decide to bake Ambient Occlusion into the textures. It's a very small touch that makes things look so much better, especially in this 2009 ass game.
Its totally worth it. They dont have a single bad product and free rolling stock packs to boot. Theyre the opposite of some of the scummy devs that push low quality content out every few weeks - which is refreshing
As far as I'm aware the NS ACU's were rebuilt with whatever horns the 9043MAC's had. I railfan the Altoona area quite a bit and see plenty of ACU helper sets and I've never heard one with a P5, just K5LA's. As far as the few that still run system-wide I don't know what they have.
The only gripe i got about the acu is the horn is waaaaaaay to quiet in the cab. I’ve been on dozens and dozens of ace’s and the horn is loud as hell in the cab. Idk if its just the acu is quieter inside than an ace but just kinda noticeable
You can check our video on our channel titled "Doug on NS 154" to hear one of those unique K5LA's. It had a quill like Amtrak except the quill was more of a squeal, and the engineer, Doug, is a musical genius with horns so he really made that one unit a favorite ACU for a lot of railfans, eager to hear the horn in person. 💯
For a person new to TSC what add-ons (routes) would you recommend to start with? I enjoy yard and long haul both Do the routes all come with quite a bit to do? This train sounds amazing. Do only the modded trains sound this good?
I follow and enjoy your insights on everything mostly. I bought CP SD70ACU Pack and it's been nothing but a headache to get working. No verification for serial and Raildriver not working properly after following their instructions. Ready to give up very disappointed.
Like most of NS' fleet, the horn they came with isn't common lol. Most of the ACU's have a fouled K5LA that sounds like no other Class I out there, while some have a P5, K5LLA, one even had a K5HL for a bit I heard.
currently lookin at some other types of railroad type games. played railroader lookin for somethin more idk "realistic" been watchin a bunch of your stuff. What do you recommend?
Good grief, it has everything down to that annoying buzz when the ditchlights flash...🤦♀. The eye in the sky, if they had them installed, would be on the back wall to the top right of the back door on the engineers side. At least that's where they are on the ACe models (and most NS units actually). It's a fantastic model.
Now all this community needs is for searchlight to start making Run8 content. These are incredible.
Run 8 is pretty ugly and it doesn't seem to be as promising as Simrail, but SS is working hard with the Simrail team 🤞
@@GeorgesNadisan run8 puts all the other simulators in dumpster nothing compares to it with the physics and simulation of it
@@GeorgesNadisanSimrail isn’t American tho tmk

beautiful job sir cannot wait for these to drop
I'm glad to see operational cab signals haha
I want this so freaking badly! It looks gorgeous!
7:12 of the 44 SD70ACUs NS currently owns, 42 of them have K5LAs and only 2 have P5s, so the K5LA is probably the best option for the model
I might have to try TrainSim classic! I’ve been using Run 8 now for about 3 years and love it but this searchlight simulations looks like good stuff

love the sd70acu such a beast
That k5la though sounds awesome

The UPs had K3LAs. NS put a bunch of K5s & P5s on them. I've seen a few with P5s.
Didn't know that. I'll have to go try and find one with a P5. Thanks for the info!!@@Railroader1206
Sure thing. I've seen one with a P3 as well. I think NS just put whatever they had on those.

Well the ACes K5LLA is way way wayyy louder then the ACU K5LA, and the ACe runs a high PSI so the horn is louder but idk it might js be a sound issue
most all emd wide cabs blow the horn at high psi, not just aces@@THE_IRON_HORSE
The CP ACu's horn was tweaked after the fact so this may be the same case
@louisvillerailfan yeah I was thinking about a ge and emd I got mixed up 😂
all good haha@@THE_IRON_HORSE
these models def need to come to run8 v3 especially a searchlight GE

There is no such thing as quilling on these locomotives. They have a solenoid horn valve which doesn’t allow for airflow to be modulated.

Hey, can you show me how to download it and do I need rolling stock pack 02?
When is it releasing?
Awesome pack bro! This would work with the CP variant correct?
Yeah and the ac44
@@schnauzahpowahz nice!
Better then the DTG ones going for 20 dollars 😂
1 trillion %
Same framerate too
How to install this with that serial crap?
You can’t. It’s gotta have the serial or it won’t work

It's still unavailable
are those SS cars?
Yeah
How do you get those cars?
