- In this vlog we are out at sea to find some lunch and dinner as we don't have any food in our household. We are diving around the coral and Viliame managed to spear a pufferfish.
When we came back to the village Viliame shows us how to clean the pufferfish and how to tells us how to prepare it.
The pufferfish will be cooked in coconut milk and served with cassava. You have to cooked it until the tails starts to fall off then you know it's fully cooked.

Sumusumu puffer fish has one of the best fish flesh. Of course it has to be cleaned very well with the glands removed carefully not to burst. Viliame did an excellent job cleaning it. Ni gone ni wai. Wananavu tiko na bula mai Viti, Isa loloma yani Josese, Viliame kei Uraia the Vlogger. Dou kalougata tiko. Ceruma dina vaka vinaka na kena wai. Taste like chicken, sumusumu.

Hello Ura, it looked very overcast whilst going fishing but even so still probably nice and warm although looked like it was getting a little rough and then the rain but the boys are still laughing. I am with you when it comes to the water and Sharks better not to take a chance lol? Interesting to see what was done with the Puffer Fish as I thought you couldn’t eat them. Always time for a song thats one of the things I love about Fiji spontaneous fun and music. Lunch/Dinner was a long time coming but couldn’t be any fresher and bet its was well worth the wait makes me miss the island living.❤️

It is poisonous but we have special ways of removing the poison parts of the fish
This my favorite episode. Reminds me of when i was little, i too also caught a blow fish in Vanua levu with Dad and cuzzins. I thought it was a normal fish until it blew up like a balloon. Kaca bote nodratou dredre ikea 😂😂. All the cuzzins started laughing at me because i was the only one who caught a blow fish while every one els caught a normal, large sized fish. The Village Cuisine now has more than one thing that I had never tried; although i had on more than one occasion the chances to try these: pufferfish, kava, and sea cucumber.
Hi Uraia . We never eat that fish in Tonga , people always said it's poisonous. We never kill them, just play with them because they always come close to you.(Te'ete'e)

Nice video. I don't know about pufferfish breeds in Fiji, but here in Southeast Asia, most of the puffer fish are very, very poisonous and needs to be cleaned very very carefully. I wouldn't dare eat it. 😓
