If they wanted that cinematic universe so badly that they made an intro for it, why give up after one failure? They should have just kept going with the next one and try to make it better than The Mummy. Don't promise so much if your first movie's bombing is going to make you scrap everything! When I sell the rights to my superhero novels, I'm going to want the studio to make a movie for each book. I would put it in the contract for them to make at least two movies in my series a year. If they don't release a movie on time, they would owe me an expensive fine. Only bankruptcy can free the studio from the deal. So if The Flying Boy bombs, and everyone hates the movie and are not interested, the studio still has to release Toon Girl and the other movies. And since the studio has to make 2-3 movies a year, they'd be making multiple movies at the same time, which means there'd be plenty of footage to flash in the Marvel-styled logo as proof that the other movies are being made or almost done. And Toon Girl is going to step out of the logo in the first movie to say "Don't worry, this is not like the Dark Universe where everyone chickened out after The Mummy failed. The studio is under contract to release every movie. And my movie is just about done. If I get cancelled like Batgirl, there will be a lawsuit over a breach of contract." Also, why did Universal photoshop a cast into a picture without anyone agreeing to play those parts? Seriously, they assemble a photo of A-list actors and announced who they would be playing in the Dark Universe, without calling a single one of those actors! That's really bad. Okay, at least three of the five showed up in The Mummy, but Johnny Depp's Invisible Man and Javier Bardem's Frankenstein were nowhere to be seen. What if Johnny and Javier were to decline? At least I'm not dumb to cast expensive actors early before the studio does. And honestly, I don't care for some actors I've already seen playing another part. When casting for my movies, I'll be looking for amateur actors. Yeah, it might hinder the acting of the movie and make cringy moments, but I want people to identify more with the characters and not the actors.
