Notes both for BPL and aspiring SS14 or/and Frontier players who may see this video: 1. When you are doing an expedition, check the chat, it tells you in which direction to head to find the dungeon with all the loot and monsters. However, regularly set your camera right with Num 8 (it goes wonky very often when moving from an entity to another, like ship to ship, ship to station, etc.), or you may end up heading in the wrong direction. Also, they have a 17 minutes timer, and if you aren't back on ship by then, you instadie. 2. The FTL glitch was fixed (this video took place a few months before from now), now you can FTL back to Frontier both during expeditions and when it sends you to null space. 3. As of now, ships/shuttles collisions with objects, structures or other ships/shuttles do NOT produce any damage to either. 4. To clone people, put them in the scanner, not the cloning pod. The scanner being the machine to the right, not the one to the left that BPL put them into, that's the one cloned people pop out from. 5. Don't use dual protokinetic accelerators, one-handed they are extremely inaccurate. Since they got infinite ammo, just use one doublehanded and give the other one to your teammate. 6. If you learned how to do it, deconstruct the machines and take their boards, don't just lug the whole thing back to ship. They are heavy, can only drag one of them at a time, and it takes a ton of unnecessary time to get them back to ship if you keep them all in one. This is because, so long you got the board, you can reconstruct them later with ease, as they usually require pretty basic, simple to get mats. 7. If you can, sell at Cargo Depots or the Expedition Lodge, not Frontier, stuff sells for much more there. Watch out for pirates though, they love hanging around cargo depots, as they are quite far from the station and hence security patrols.
Hey Tex, been watching your vids for a few years. I enjoy your adventures as they helped me get through some tough times, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Thanks for all you do and merry spessmas!
Most SS14 servers are extremely hardcore against NSFW, banning for even making vaguely lewd jokes. Including Frontier. So aside swear words, violence and the likes, if NSFW if your concern, it has you covered.
I really should try doing expeditions.. So far I either stay on Frontier station or serve on research vessels. That said. Its nice to see you doing more and more Spacestation 14 stuff!
Be me. Am idiot with old leg injuries but hobbling home drenk in the dead of night in extremely rural Australia. It's fine. Only 1.69km of unlit sugar cane fields to go. Some youtube should take my mind off the brindilongs stalking me through the cane. Tex: Whispers Halloween theme in my headphones. Oh. Well. I'm going to die. I'm that first kill at the start of the movie. So cool.
@@kacperwalkowiak2564 Oh they aren't that bad. They're just like old Muldjewan, not quite as big. I was making plenty of noise, and I wasn't looking at them. So I was fine.
Y'know, I never could find BPL station on the servers list. Womp-womp. Frontier is pretty nice, at least when SOMEONE knows what they're doing. Still a little salty that the basic hardsuit won't connect to O2, so I gotta wear a breathing mask underneath. Damn near spaced myself last night.
In SS14, as of now, you need to use masks for O2 for any hardsuit. It's not just the basic ones. Also, depends what you mean for "basic hardsuit", since technically the most basic one is the orange emergency one (which doesn't protect you from space cold), followed by the EVA, and then the spationaut suit, this last one usually being the basic in Frontier instead (aside for the really broke/economy people, who'd use instead the EVA suit).
The initial "matrix" one, nah, it's not. The only in-game loading screen shown, is when he briefly shows the lobby screen (the one with the picture of a high af chemist, a scientist fleeing an explosion, and a janitor lizard).
As of now, there's three main English SS14 servers: Wizden (the "upstream", "basic" ones made by the main SS14 devs), Frontier (the one BPL played), and Delta V. Main Wizden servers are LRP (with one MRP whitelist server), which... Are quite wild, but they are sort of the basic experience of SS14, so, maybe a good place to start at. However, mind that the administration there is very questionable, loving to try and pass up as inclusive, loving and democratic, but being nothing of the sort in practice. Frontier is MRP, but it's extremely chill, with any shitters being canned the instant they kick up any fuss. Also a good place where to start at, though the specific gameplay encouraged of either buying a ship and do stuff, work as crew of a ship, or that it has an economy system where everything costs money, may prove a bit difficult at first for certain players. And then there's Delta V, also MRP. Haven't played a lot there myself, but I know it has quite a lot of exotic stuff going on not seen in other servers, like special PSI powers, unique or different mechanics, and such. So, may be better to take it up later when you learned the basics first, given all the additional stuff it does and has. The rest of the English servers as of now are a bit niche and not super populated, aside maybe Mining Station (which focuses exclusively onto that and so might not be the best place to start at, and while it's the only one that has surgery right now, has branched off code a while ago and so is missing a lot of upstream basic stuff), and the new English Ekrixi server (extremely difficult one that basically has a ship against ship combat gameplay similar to FTL Faster Than Light or Barotrauma, so definitely not for beginners). There's also the Russian servers, but those are a whole other thing entirely, as they have completely branched off of upstream a long, long while ago, and have their own stuff and development going on. All of which I got no idea of aside a few of the more important ones, like the Russian Ekrixi servers, or the one server where you play in a Syndicate station and instead gotta protect against NT infiltrations/attacks (so basically reverse Space Station gameplay).

"Hmm ashes . . . just . . .put those in the trash . . ." Excellent. Goes to the trouble of cremating his crew member and then throws him away.

Frontier is a truly magnificent server, I really hope to bump into you there eventually.
Thank you for getting my kids and I into such a great game.
Haven't tried ss14 yet, but ss13 was quite a degenerate place. Is it safe for kids? :)
Like any game with an online community, it may not be 100% safe for kids
Please keep a close eye on them while they play

😊👍
/sigh…is it time to try ss14? Last time I did it was pretty rough.
Those trees bother me.
I love the random weird stuff hidden among the "log on" screens... Is that part of the game itself, or something Tex adds?
The initial "matrix" one, nah, it's not.
The only in-game loading screen shown, is when he briefly shows the lobby screen (the one with the picture of a high af chemist, a scientist fleeing an explosion, and a janitor lizard).
Pog
why are the trees sideways
Because he hadn't realigned his camera, which often goes a bit crazy when moving from an entity to another.
