Paul & Doreen Buckley's 70th Wedding Anniversary Celebrations

To celebrate their parents and grandparents, Paul & Doreen Buckley's 70th Wedding Anniversary, at 12 O'clock Midday on the 29th May 2024 Martin & Rachel Buckley together with their bell ringing teachers, will attempt a Quarter Peal of Plain Bob Doubles on Beckford Church Bells. This will extend a long-standing tradition of bell ringing in their family as Trevor Newbury, Doreen's father, was Tower Captain at Beckford Church in the 1940's. Trevor organised the ringing on the day, but was giving the bride away, so could not participate himself.
Ringing teachers across the length and breadth of our country give up their time freely to continue this long-standing tradition. Martin & Rachel chose to ring this quarter peal, with their teachers as a mark of respect for the hard work they do, in not only teaching, but maintaining the bell tower and bells, for future generations.
