- In this Video, I test to see whether these adapters actually work and more importantly whether it will work with a powered electric metal retractable antenna like you see on many older vehicles such as Mercedes, Honda, Toyota and Nissan for example. This could be a great addition to your car if you want a DAB radio in your car but don't want a aftermarket antenna.
I've just paid £13 on Amazon for exactly the same thing. 😒 Not arrived yet. Looking forward to fitting to see if it works.
Thank you for making this video. You've inspired some hope that might just work and save me sticking a weird DAB antenna on the windscreen.
You're very welcome, hopefully it will work for you too, it's definitely better than the windscreen antennas as keeps everything hidden.
I didn’t realise the model I bought comes with an SMB male connector and my DAB USB module has a SMA female connector. So, I had to order an adapter and it’s delayed the whole thing by another day. 🤣 Something folks should watch out for to avoid unexpected delays.
@@mcnaugha Any luck with the new connector?
Can you please provide link of your dab device ?
Great video, keep up the good work.
Thank you very much.
Wow, what a voice you have. You should be a radio host, mate. Thanks for the video, I was looking at the splitter for my car DAB
Thank you very much for the compliment, you're welcome, I'm surprised no one else has ever shown these working.
Hey mate can I ask did you wire the red power wire to the head unit wire labeled antenna power or did you wire it directly into the power cable to the harness?
I’ve currently got mine connected via the antenna power wire as my FM reception was shocking without this unit
Now I have it and it’s great
Only issue is the DAB doesn’t seem to be working
Any ideas?
For the purpose of the video I just pushed the wire in the switched power lead connector, the antenna out wire will work fine too as that should output 12v. At least it's helped the FM reception, is the FM antenna an amplified one or not and does the adapter you have require a amplified or non amplified antenna? Or might just be a faulty adapter.
Cannot understand anything you says
OK cool, what would you like me to do about my speaking disability?
Maybe noise cancelling mic 🎤 and more clear slow speaking will help. Good video thanks
it wasn't flipping plugged in, what a waste of time !
I believe it was plugged in and it was tested as it received the signal from the antenna and converted it to dab, unless you mean the antenna connection?
😂😂😂😂
