Thanks Brett, each graft I do looks neater and gets easier Can’t wait to see the results, I’ve grafted New varieties for my place like white peach, Earlier nectarine, sugar plum and cherry plum all scions from mates or customers trees
Enjoyed watching your grafting job. I never knew you could graft a tree like that. Hope your other tropical plants survive during this winter in Canberra.
Thanks mate, this is a common graft in apple, pear and stone fruit large orchards if there a new variety that will get more money Tree will be in full production much earlier (3yrs instead of 6)because well established rootstock
Sweet grafting I can’t wait to give this a go you made this look easy we have choke cherry 🍒 trees all over our woods I would definitely love to give this a try
Thanks Sandor, it really fun and now the impatient wait just hope my kids don’t wreck them early 3 yr old was playing with the peach tree graft while I had my back turned
@@Coolclimatetropicalfruits lol...well I hope they survive the kids and I know how you feel. I bought a rare 12" palm last year for $400 and our puppy claimed it as its new chew toy😔 Keep us updated mate👍😁
Many thanks, it is very convenient I have a couple more wild cherries and neighbours have one also they want me to graft for them I’ve found 2 approx 1 year old flowering quince in backyard, thinking of putting nashi pear onto it and. Have you ever heard of someone grafting to flowering not fruiting quince with success.
@@Coolclimatetropicalfruits good idea with grafting over the quince. I believe it should work. You should be able to graft loquat to it also which will have a dwarfing affect on it.
Thanks Andy an d thanks for watching 🤞🏻I get good success, I have been trying many different style grafts this year on many different trees. I have a small wild sprouted flowering quince in the backyard that I’m going to cleft graft a loquat onto to hopefully dwarf it a bit Lots of spare time atm with lockdown 😉
Nicely done Neil, am still trying to get hang of it, tried it on my orange tree grafted lemon cuttings on it out of 4 only 1 taken, still learning hopefully you should have successful on this bark graft mate 👍
Thanks, I have done many style grafts recently outside to get my practise up and have different fruits in the yard White peach, Early nectarine, sugar plum cherry plum still to graft some loquat and apple trees and then going to my neighbours and doing some grafting on their trees Then all those flying dragon dwarfing rootstocks I bought to graft citrus I should be pretty good by the end I hope 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Very thorough grafting job, that type of grafting is well beyond my current ability Neil 🤩

Fantastic work! Where did you get your grafting knife (the one with the bark lifter)?
Many thanks
I got it from Daley’s nursery
They are also sold on eBay same price with free shipping. Felco brand knife is $30-$35 which is pretty good
