I use the reddish paper that contractors use to protect floors. It's cheap, easy to tape down, and easy to fix if it tears. It can also be double layered or put over plastic to make a less slippery surface.
@sergiogomezart I've had the paper down for a couple years. It's pretty durable, which is why contractors use it. Plus it lies flat. I'll replace a small section from time to time, but I still have most of my original roll. I agree if you're going to go with plastic, get the heavy stuff.
@@lolashowme Sorry, I don't know what it's called. I buy mine at my local hardware store, but I would think Home Depot would carry it. Just describe it. It comes in rolls of about 50 feet and is about 3 feet wide. I roll it out and secure it with masking tape. It's easy to cut and measure. Hope that helps.
I will get that plastic cover. I already ruined my hardwood floors in my sunroom (converted to) studio!!!! Omg! That foldable working table behind the paper is a great idea!!!!! Ty
Thank you for sharing all this, it's very helpful and generous and I love your videos and your work! When I was first looking at the start of this video I thought you taped the first painting to the glass door, which someone could also do if they had a sliding glass door in their work space, easy to clean!
@@sergiogomezart Thank YOU for sharing, your videos are helping me a lot! I do watercolor with paper taped on glass and it is much easier to clean, would also give you a larger surface than the table top. I also do gel plate printing from an 18x24" homemade plate on paper and your video on adhering paintings on paper to canvas is wonderful, I can't wait to try it with a gel print.
I’ve had a long career as a commercial painter. I don’t like working on plastic floor covering: paint stays wet on plastic and is slippery for longer than other floor protection. Construction supply stores carry rolls of floor protection made of a paper-like material in varying thicknesses. Working on plastic will cause you to track wet paint to other unprotected floor areas. NOT GOOD!
Yea paper is also an option. I guess it depends how you paint and how you use it. i have never had a problem with the plastic myself. But yes, there are other ways. This is not the only one. I'm just sharing what I use. Thanks for the tip and for the comment. :)
I put down vinyl flooring to cover the entire (really nice wood!) floor. Works very well. Better than plastic and paper, stays down and you can damp mop it as if it was the real floor. Home Depot sells it by the roll and cut to size.

Yes good idea about taping to the glas too. drip a lot of paint so I need the wate to land in the plastic. Thanks for the tip and for sharing!

where is links for your two videos you mentioned in the beg? also links to easel, supplies please thankk you
imo the plastic becomes slippery and you take the paint with you as you walk around. I prefer a light grey carpet, the cheapest I could find ;-))
I would take an old tapestry for the floor.
Great advice!
Thanks!
