I miss when animal jam was owned by wildworks and National Geographic kids.. Back then they focused on the ANIMAL part on animal jam. Everything fit the natural vibe, even the music! All the items were cozy and simple, but the newer ones are too modern and detailed. Animals had a better style, and even the patterns just looked better. Back then when the mods actually cared about how the items would fit on the animals, not just cram them on a default spot and call it a day. Like, come on. Just take a look at the hippo.
I definitely agree with you on the pattern aspect, the old ones were unique and a few large patterns spanned the whole animal, now its just bunch of the same small patterns spammed on the animal.
The old aj we're better, People won't so toxic, Trading wasn't as bad as it is today, There was less bad people and there was no custom name tags, I just really like the 2020 animal jam. I agree with you!

To me the one thing you missed abt Play Wild nostalgia is the old AJPW app icon. The old icon used to have the normal wolf that was smiling with it’s paws hanging on the frame, whenever it was winter/Christmas the icon would change into an arctic wolf with the same pose as the wolf before changing back into the normal icon (or other seasonal icons). They eventually replaced the wolf with the arctic wolf entirely during update 14.0.3 and boy I was so angry when I found out that the wolf was gone forever 😅 I always thought AJ was too biased with the arctic wolves more than the normal wolves as a kid, and honestly without that blue wolf that caught my eye I probably wouldn’t have discovered AJ at all
The players have definitely changed. I've been on and off of AJ 3 times now. Once in 2017 when I started, once in 2020, and now. 2017 is mostly a blur, but I did make a good friend from back then. 2020 was SO nice, I met tons of friends, and even started my childhood dream, being a UA-camr, and now.. god the people are just dumb kids. I've been called "bbg", short for baby girl, 3 times now, 2 in the EXACT same area! And the first one was the day I started playing again! I haven't dug into the roleplays or popular trading areas a lot since I came back but I bet their worse

To me, it is really nostalgic to think about how differently the game was designed back then - how there were no toxic players - and all of the beta items and easter eggs you could find. I remember back in the good old days of 2016-2017 I loved exploring the lands and a lot of the time me and my grandma looked for small details and easter eggs in the game. Yes my grandma also plays animal jam, and we started the game together. And back then it was designed so much differently as well. It’s really nostalgic to look back at the old jamaa journal, loading screens, club geoz, and even the way the game looked when you were switching animals. I also remember when pet clothing items became available in stores.

Yes. I especially miss when animal jam trading wasn't as overrated and demanding by people. It used to be very exiting to get a rare item on the (old) chat-off trade system, and it was also actually fun for collectors to go to trading dens. Now days trading is rather boring and used way to much, and is just genuinely not that fun. I am not that social on the game and trade chat can be very awkward, especially when the person throws an unnecessary fit, as you said in your video. The treasure hunt was also very fun, and I vividly remember it when I was young (maybe 7-8 years old.) ...Ah, odd enough, a particular room in my house upstairs still has the same smell (don't take that weirdly) or like, feeling,- that it had when I first started AJ. The same computer that I used when I *frst* found the game is still up there. Although I was quite young, I still get that nostalgic feeling every time I go upstairsnas the memories of AJ's beta days come back.
I miss being able to go into literally anywhere, without seeing 7 million different: “My list for ___!” And when I could go to the pillow shop for RP and stuff, I miss adopting other jammers for fun and doing fandom based roleplays in AJPW..

OMG! I have been playing ajpw for 4 and a half years now and I remember most of these things! The things on ajpw that were most nostalgic to me were the ad chest, claws and paws before the pet token machine, the old sapphire shop, when bundles were on a board in the sapphire shop, when they first added the daily spin, when most of the buildings had coming soon signs like the exploratorium, walls and floors, etc, the pre-my shop days when it used to be so hard to get sapphires, when moku ahi came out (it came out the day after I started playing ajpw), and when I first started ajpw there wasn’t many member exclusive features
in my opinion, making pets tradable was one of animal jam’s worst mistakes along with bringing back old animals/dens, changing the sapphire shop layout, and putting beta items back in stories…like, I was SO mad when flower crowns appeared in epic wonders one day…
When i first saw the sapphire shop changed, I nearly punched my device. That is where I got my first sets, where I got my first sapphire shop animal. Im talking about the horizontal shop version. If I could go back to that time with that version, when I was still chasing my dream items like Water Wings and a Freedom Spike, when my favourite parties were the dance party and the summer carnival, when I would become so excited for night of the phantoms so I could possibly get the phantom set and get to hover with it, when Stack Attack was a more available game and I won nearly evry round, with the loading screen pictures greeting me as I waited to return to the world I was in. The thing I can thank the most is Shimmerdeer, my first Animal Jam pet, a highlighter pink and highlighter green poodle from 2017. She is the one thing I will never let go and I have always been OBSSESED with her. So thank you the most, Shimmerdeer, for being my first pet. You are the most special thing on my AJ account and I have NEVER underestimated your value to me.

Actually the thing that I miss the most is logging on and meeting my sister in her den, going to fasion shows, hosting them, making forts in her pillow den, going into the old sapphire shop and sharing sapphires to get something, trading with each other, getting so excited over new items and showing each other.. Until she quit. It hasn't been the same, our most memories were in her den or the old sapphire shop. I still have her buddied, I still visit her den every now and then I still show her items.. But she doesn't get excited like how she used to.. I miss playing with her so much!
I remember the old ajs... sucks i dont play anymore... but I do have another piece of nostalgia you didnt mention! It was in the sapphire shop or whatever, and you were able to go to this little box and watch a few ads to get prizes everyday! (etc. clothing, den items, and sapphires from what im aware of!) Also another thing-- The word sapphire. To this day, still struggle to spell it.

I am late, but one thing i miss is from animal jam classic. I remember the AJschool den, how people would roleplay there, and it was always full. It was fun, a good way to make buddies on animal jam.
I miss when members only got packs and daily sapphires. Having member items, especially recolors of nonmember ones is greedy. I'm a member, so it does not impact me, but it is gross.
I personally think the old dens were the most nostalgic, I used to have the Bunny Burrow in my den as the very first den I ever got with sapps, But deleted it for some weird reason. I MISS THAT DEN NOW 😭...
I can’t believe I started playing since 2016.. wow… just wow.. back then I wasnt really trading for rates but for stuff that looked good but there’s one thing you forgot leamon idk if this counts but the old cool looking styles people used to have like flower crown nutcracker boots rocker hair spiked collar and black or grey fur with a white face. That style used to be so popular but now it’s just not there anymore.
One of the nostalgic things I had was pet for pet trading I just feel like there’s barely anyone that does it anymore and I always did it when I used to be obsessed with pets
I miss there being wild animals and wild animals ONLY [Well, in Play Wild's case.] I also miss National Geographic, they helped ensure the ANIMAL of ANIMAL Jam. One last thing, when Play Wild was just a spinoff of Animal Jam and not just it's 3D replacement that ended up taking it's namesake anyways.
Animal Jam was and is still a kinda big part of my childhood, now not really anymore. I dont really know why, i still love it but it kinda got a little boring. All of my friends quit :( . It brings back so much memories, great and bad (but like 90% great memories). It changed alot and i love nostalgia! Dont get me wrong I still love aj but its not like in the old times. Sometimes I think of the old AJ and my younger self playing it! I’ve been playing it since 2018 (and now too)❤
Yeah I hate the new trading system. I agree with it being awkward because it is awkward. My pet peeve is when I’m adding items to trade and the person just exits the trade because I’m “taking too long” like nobody has a bit of patience? I will tell you when I’m done adding items. With the old system I could take all the time I needed and send the trade request and if the person accepted then yay! It was much quicker.
I say we just bring back the old system. item worth is like too confusing now also i sorta enjoyed when everything was constant. As someone who is autistic and hasn't had a constent thing in years it was very calming for me and I knew what to look forward to. Now its kinda just annoying. esp with them re releasing old items.

I started to play animal jam around 2016 honestly I fell in love with it after all although my rainbow spike got scam. And so I never even got into training things because of that. I love the game overall but I wish animal jam HQ would add free membership for all jammers at least.

I rarely comment on videos, but holy cow this stuff was pretty nostalgic! I started playing in 2016 and when I found out AJPW was changed to just AJ, I felt pretty sad. I personally don't remember club geoz but I remember seeing the toy at target lol. I miss the old trading system but I do like the fact you can add more than 4 items, the chat box is nice but sometimes I just don't like it. Anyone else miss going to the snow leopard den and find lots of players saying "Warrior Cat/emo wolf RP at my den!" and they use the garden den for the RP? Just me? Idk. I wish they brought back the old sapphire shop (rectangle version) and treasure hunts. Is it me being too critical for the new model style or is AJPW not making models that represent the AJ style with more blocky shapes? Edit: Anyone else get bombarded with trades of jammers giving you a (ex: item every player gets when they are new) and asking you to trade for it but you don't want that item or they trade you that for a rare item (ex: nutcracker boots)?
So apparently, what I've read from a comment in the past on a previous video on awesomeisme's channel on one of her videos. Someone commented why Club Geoz was destroyed because National Geographic had ended their partnership with WildWorks since Club Geoz was based on some real place im pretty sure idk. The comment is left on one of Awesomes animations from a couple years ago, I'd have to find it though.
i agree with allll of these, i joined in january 2017 or something like that lol i remember collecting FEDORAS because they were rare 😭 also a random thing but i miss the old username tags, they werent customised or anything, sure, but i liked their simplicity. some of the new colourful ones are kinda like eyesores if im being honest😭
Leamon! I think you may have forgotten the old customization buttons! They used to have vines as ropes to hold the buttons, and nowadays, they don’t. Search it up I think it’s there
I have to agree with the Club Geoz (I agree on all of these) but the Club Geoz.. 2017?! I thought it was removed in like 2019/2020, I remember it being there in 2019.. But I’ve been playing for a LONG time. My first account i made in like 2016, I don’t know the password to it but I probably have some rare items on there.
I'm really late to the party but man, I miss animal Jam.. its such a same how much this game has changed Honestly its sad I lost my account as i grew older and I never got in touch with my old friends compared to more popular games like Roblox and such. I do miss them alot and this game overall but its better to move on, I'll still thank animal jam for making me the person I am today, Thank you Animal Jam Play wild for all the nostalgic and fun memories I had with the app growing up.

For me the most nostalgic thing in animal jam is going down the slide in the tiger temple den with the music "raccoon nights" playing in the den.
I would always have jammer anthem playing in my den when I first started and I would sometimes just hang out in my den and listen to jammer anthem

As a classic player without Dance Party, I have on several occasions wished that the Alpha Headquarters got replaced by Club Geoz again.

I am late, but one thing i miss is from animal jam classic. I remember the AJschool den, how people would roleplay there, and it was always full. It was fun, a good way to make buddies on animal jam.
I haven't frequently played animal jam on mobile, but since I've been there a while I might find something nostalgic lol

I miss when members only got packs and daily sapphires. Having member items, especially recolors of nonmember ones is greedy.
I'm a member, so it does not impact me, but it is gross.
I personally think the old dens were the most nostalgic, I used to have the Bunny Burrow in my den as the very first den I ever got with sapps, But deleted it for some weird reason. I MISS THAT DEN NOW 😭...

I can’t believe I started playing since 2016.. wow… just wow.. back then I wasnt really trading for rates but for stuff that looked good but there’s one thing you forgot leamon idk if this counts but the old cool looking styles people used to have like flower crown nutcracker boots rocker hair spiked collar and black or grey fur with a white face. That style used to be so popular but now it’s just not there anymore.
One of the nostalgic things I had was pet for pet trading I just feel like there’s barely anyone that does it anymore and I always did it when I used to be obsessed with pets

I miss there being wild animals and wild animals ONLY [Well, in Play Wild's case.] I also miss National Geographic, they helped ensure the ANIMAL of ANIMAL Jam. One last thing, when Play Wild was just a spinoff of Animal Jam and not just it's 3D replacement that ended up taking it's namesake anyways.

Animal Jam was and is still a kinda big part of my childhood, now not really anymore. I dont really know why, i still love it but it kinda got a little boring. All of my friends quit :( . It brings back so much memories, great and bad (but like 90% great memories). It changed alot and i love nostalgia! Dont get me wrong I still love aj but its not like in the old times. Sometimes I think of the old AJ and my younger self playing it! I’ve been playing it since 2018 (and now too)❤

Yeah I hate the new trading system. I agree with it being awkward because it is awkward. My pet peeve is when I’m adding items to trade and the person just exits the trade because I’m “taking too long” like nobody has a bit of patience? I will tell you when I’m done adding items. With the old system I could take all the time I needed and send the trade request and if the person accepted then yay! It was much quicker.

I say we just bring back the old system. item worth is like too confusing now also i sorta enjoyed when everything was constant. As someone who is autistic and hasn't had a constent thing in years it was very calming for me and I knew what to look forward to. Now its kinda just annoying. esp with them re releasing old items.

I started to play animal jam around 2016 honestly I fell in love with it after all although my rainbow spike got scam. And so I never even got into training things because of that.
I love the game overall but I wish animal jam HQ would add free membership for all jammers at least.

I rarely comment on videos, but holy cow this stuff was pretty nostalgic! I started playing in 2016 and when I found out AJPW was changed to just AJ, I felt pretty sad. I personally don't remember club geoz but I remember seeing the toy at target lol. I miss the old trading system but I do like the fact you can add more than 4 items, the chat box is nice but sometimes I just don't like it. Anyone else miss going to the snow leopard den and find lots of players saying "Warrior Cat/emo wolf RP at my den!" and they use the garden den for the RP? Just me? Idk. I wish they brought back the old sapphire shop (rectangle version) and treasure hunts. Is it me being too critical for the new model style or is AJPW not making models that represent the AJ style with more blocky shapes?
Edit: Anyone else get bombarded with trades of jammers giving you a (ex: item every player gets when they are new) and asking you to trade for it but you don't want that item or they trade you that for a rare item (ex: nutcracker boots)?

So apparently, what I've read from a comment in the past on a previous video on awesomeisme's channel on one of her videos. Someone commented why Club Geoz was destroyed because National Geographic had ended their partnership with WildWorks since Club Geoz was based on some real place im pretty sure idk. The comment is left on one of Awesomes animations from a couple years ago, I'd have to find it though.

Leamon! I think you may have forgotten the old customization buttons! They used to have vines as ropes to hold the buttons, and nowadays, they don’t. Search it up I think it’s there

I have to agree with the Club Geoz (I agree on all of these) but the Club Geoz.. 2017?! I thought it was removed in like 2019/2020, I remember it being there in 2019.. But I’ve been playing for a LONG time. My first account i made in like 2016, I don’t know the password to it but I probably have some rare items on there.

Honestly its sad I lost my account as i grew older and I never got in touch with my old friends compared to more popular games like Roblox and such.
I do miss them alot and this game overall but its better to move on, I'll still thank animal jam for making me the person I am today, Thank you Animal Jam Play wild for all the nostalgic and fun memories I had with the app growing up.
I remember when the new sapphire bundles had dens and animals in them and back when the there was a fox arctic wolf i think and tiger bundle with the dens like the tiger with the tiger palace
the halloween bundles still have both
