I don't have much to explain about this second movement. Maybe you, my friends, will do it and I'll be very grateful. My symphony doesn't follow traditional rules or forms. It's an attempt to surpass myself as much as possible by making music. I don't even pretend to be a "composer"

No tengo mucho que explicar sobre este segundo movimiento. Quizás vosotros mis amigos lo hagais y os estaré muy agradecido. Esta sinfonía no sigue reglas ni formas tradicionales. Es un intento de superarme en todo lo posible haciendo música. Ni siquiera tengo la pretensión de ser "compositor"

Muy hermosa obra, magnífica orquestación querido Carlos. Las texturas están bien equilibradas y la alternancia entre grupos instrumentales es muy llamativa. Me encantó! Felicitaciones!!!

Dear Carlos, I really appreciate this second movement of your Symphony no. 1. I like the alternation of the initial rhythmic episode and the suggestive cantabile line.
I also find your writing very interesting as it reveals an excellent knowledge of the timbre of musical instruments.

Such an interesting and unique mood you've evoked. The agitated and snarly grandeaur of the opening staccato theme followed by a dignified and delightfully grave mood...like the kind of melancholy state you enjoy being in... this was thoroughly absorbing. A thing of beauty, stark contrast and unpredictable character. High marks. Can't wait for what follow and of course to listen to it all in succession.

@@carlose.johansson739 I know what you mean. I always tell myself-- Just take it one measure at a time...listen carefully...take the time that is needed and don't settle for anything but your best ideas. Good luck.
It's wonderful how you lead the motiv with the open parallel fifths through the different orchestral colors, especially when the timpani join in the game. Then there are these solemn, almost marcia funebre like passages interchanging with the scherzando sections... Both make for a very interesting formal concept of two opposing characters.
Thank you Franz. Very interesting to read your review/analys. That's the important thing, I think, when writing a symphony. Look for rich variety in themes, rhythms and musical motifs. I hope to achieve this in the different movements. What I'm mainly looking for is to have fun making music and make it the best it can be.✨️🎶✨️
