Hey, thanks so much, I just finished the process & I'm so grateful to have an easy step-by-step guide, I'm not really comfortable figuring this stuff out myself. Now I gotta go see how to use the camera with the buttons. Also, if you don't already know, that DryDrone waterproofing works different than conformal coating & it actually conducts through the coating so you can coat everything, like the ribbon cables you mentioned being careful of on my other comment. It's so much better than conformal coating, faster & easier. You just pour it in a small ziplock bag & put the whole circuit board in & shake it all over for 5 seconds & then it dries in 30 seconds & it's ready to go! Amazing stuff!
Thanks for the build guide. Just a heads up (things change fast). BetaFPV now has an *UPDATED* BetaFPV GoPro Lite VERSION 2 out (Lighter and Easier to Assemble). Also a newer BEC Board (vs1.1). Oh, and looks like your BetaFPV link below isn't there anymore....happy flying!
Good instructions / thanks for that! To solve the glue points, I put several propellers in between and left the camera there for a while. I had to repeat that three times and eventually it went off.
@@mrtiefpvhowtoandreview1033 So to say :-) . Mine was maybe only glued with Chinese bubblegum. The glue is still sticking. Seriously, the glue is like tar.
This is really helpful as I have been unable to find the "instructions" you talked about. I'm looking for that other video you talked about regarding how to connect it to the FC and setup Start/Stop. I hope you actually made it.
thank you so much for the video but I have one question. does it still work with all its funcions like hiper smoth, time lapse all the video formats and take photos and all of that trought the app?
Thanks for this..Even right down to the pairing etc...Very timely for me as it's going to be 105 all next week and will probably start tearing mine down then .Fly in the cool air of morning and build/repair with the A/C on high in the afternoon....lol.....Good Air, Straight props
Thank you for your guides, I also make naked GoPro according to your guide. But How can I control GoPro setting from my phone. I can't Connect with my phone. Please do tutorials for guys like me. Thank you
Thanks! Helped a ton! I got it done but I can't seem to connect it to my phone now! When I put the gopro back together it connects to my phone just fine... any idea why it won't connect to my phone after installing it into the betafpv tpu?
Scratch that!! I figured it out! The gopro was set at 5.8 ghz for its connection and the fpv feed was interfering, once I changed the gopro to work on 2.4 ghz, BAM! WORKS GREAT!
You can solder a small piece of wire to the WiFi pad to (just make sure it’s the correct length it using 2.4 or 5ghz) or using shielded anteanna wire solder the shielding to the top left (from back) ground pad and center wire to antenna pad obviously.
Did exactly what your video shows. Does it connect to my phone I do have a green light and if I push the buttons and doesn’t record there is power to it I’m running an affair with a 95X with power cable external can you put me in the right direction
Don’t update it if you plan on using ReelSteady use 1.6! And you can’t downgrade if needed after you disassemble it will tell you battery is below 5% because well it isn’t sending battery logic connector from the battery circuitry.
It will fit the case but the gyro chip is too sensitive in the 7 (they changed the chip when they added Hypersmooth). It really is very hard to properly soft mount perfectly to where ReelSteady is usable your better off just using hypersmooth with the 7 and buying a refurbished 6 for this.
Yeah, really helpful! Perfect tutorial, thanks so much. I'm going to see if that Shake n' Bake coating is available to use just in case. And do you have any idea about TPU drone mounts for that? Really excited to lose 100g on my long range freestyle adventures!!
So the Beta 85 comes with A TPU print and I'm pretty sure you can find that on thingaverse. The shake and bake sounds like a good idea just be careful with the ribbon connectors because you might lose connectivity through them.
Or just get conformal coating and you can mask with tape and just pull the masking off before it completely sets in areas you don’t want to coat (like the flex connectors). Then use siliconized sealent over the ribbon cables once connected or conformal if your careful it’s just the viscosity of conformal could seap into the ribbon connector pins where a thicker viscosity sealant will just coat over it and not into it if that makes sense.
Sorry it took me so long to reply. The camera control seems to be buggy and I had a hard time using it. I would recommend depinning the yellow wire and just use the on and off button.
Hi, you sad, you make a second Video where you show, how to connect the Gopro Lite on the BetaFPV Drone and start recording with your Radio!?!?!?? Where is the Video??
thx bro just followed this step by step, amazingly easy to do
Thank you so much.... I've been MIA. Hope to start flying again

I'm glad I Was able to help. I'll have to try that shake stuff here soon
@@mrtiefpvhowtoandreview1033 It's called DryDrone & seems great. Although my Lite break down camera isn't working at all for some reason.
Great video!!

Very informative and well thought out.
Thank you! I tride

Oh nice so you just used time to slowly pop it off? That's really cool!

Excellent video. Im starting my gopro lite build next week, im not as scared now😉
Yeah it's pretty intimidating until you do it and then it's not that hard.

Great video thank you. So I can do this with the hero 5?
good info . . . thx !
I'm glad I could help

can use the hero 7 white for this kit
hey.
did you make the video showing how to set up in betaflight?

Is this possible with my old hero 3+ black
Is this possible to do with a Hero 5 Black?
If you lose or break your phone can you still pair your new phone with the stripped down gopro? Or do you have to reassemble the whole thing?
You have to have the lcd and can connect to it but accessing the lcd screen and resetting settings. They left the area still accessible thankfully.
Is the hero 6 the only option at this point? I would rather have a hero 8
strong vigneting with the freewell mavic zoom nd filters. not recommending these.. can you confirm the polarpro do not have vigneting?

Will reelsteady work with this case mount holding hero 7 with hypersmooth disabled?
From my understanding real steady doesn't work very good with the 7 I also don't know if the 7 is 100% compatible with this case.
@@mrtiefpvhowtoandreview1033 it is 😉

🥰
Does this work the same for hero 7 black?
Yes if your just using it for Hypersmooth and don’t plan on ReelSteady software stabilization for reasons I won’t get into. Fits the same.
@@vicewize thanks, scored a working pawn shop Hero 7 black for $130
x Itz Epic D x Nice one! Can’t beat that!
My kit didn't come with those spacers and I cannot find the print. Guess I'll skip it.
Is the kit compatible with a Hero5 black? Damn things sat on the shelf since I got something lighter..
That is a good question I'm not a 100% sure I don't believe the 5 had on board stabilization so the board itself might be different.

Bad advice on the update. You want to downgrade it to v1.6 if you plan to use it with RSGO which 99% of people who are doing this will be using.
